Jiang's mother acted quickly, and soon two maids who had bathed and changed came over and tidied up a side room next to Sang Shijing's.
Even the meals were brought into the house for Li Yunyan. She only needed to treat Sang Shijing and didn't need to worry about anything else.
Li Yunyan was naturally lazy, and Jiang's thoughtful and meticulous arrangements pleased her greatly!
However, Sang Shijing's body is sensitive to dampness, so apart from him, everyone else has to go downstairs to wash and bathe, which is a little inconvenient.
However, the flaws do not outweigh the merits. As long as she cures Sang Shijing, this inconvenience will be gone!
That night, Li Yunyan knocked on Sang Shijing's door.
Sang Shijing's servant, Dong Yanlai, opened the door and, upon seeing Li Yunyan, respectfully greeted her, "Doctor Li."
Li Yunyan brandished the silver needles in her hand, "I will perform acupuncture on your young master!"
Dong Yan stepped aside to let Li Yunyan enter.
After nodding to Sang Shijing, she said to Dong Yan, "Go and prepare some hot water. After I finish the acupuncture, use a hot towel to wipe your young master's body. Also, I don't like to be disturbed while I'm doing acupuncture, so don't let anyone in unless it's urgent."
Dongyan glanced at the young master who was already sitting on the couch, and then nodded.
Sang Shijing was wearing a pure white undergarment, and her complexion looked much better than in the afternoon.
Li Yunyan was also wearing a plain white ruqun (a type of traditional Chinese dress), and at first glance, the two looked like they were wearing matching outfits.
She sat down very naturally by his bedside and began to place needles.
"Take off your clothes."
Her voice was calm and even, with an undeniable naturalness.
Sang Shijing felt a little embarrassed.
He had been ill for many years and had received acupuncture treatment before, but the doctors who performed the acupuncture on him were all male. This was the first time he had been treated by a female doctor.
Li Yunyan had already picked up the needle, her beautiful eyes glancing at him. "Young master, doctors are not divided by gender. Please forget about the strict separation between men and women for now."
In general, women are at a disadvantage in such matters. Seeing Li Yunyan's open and honest demeanor, Sang Shijing felt that he himself was not magnanimous enough in dealing with things.
"It is I, Sang, who am narrow-minded!"
Sang Shijing stopped hesitating, loosened the sash, and took off her inner garment, revealing her pale and thin body.
"Lie down and expose your back."
Sang Shijing did as instructed, obediently lying on the pillow and exposing her back.
They look a bit easy to bully.
Li Yunyan curled her lips into a smile, then held her breath and began to insert the needles.
When the acupuncture was performed, the fingers inevitably touched the skin on his back. Sang Shijing gripped the corner of the pillow tighter, and his ears felt a little hot.
The oil lamp cast a dim yellow light, and the room was quiet, with only the soft breathing of the two people remaining.
The acupuncture treatment was completed late at night.
Li Yunyan called Dong Yan in, then left, rubbing her slightly sore wrist.
Dong Yan placed a clean cloth in the hot water: "Young master, let me wipe your body!"
"Um."
Sang Shijing, who was on the couch, got up and put on his undergarments. His gaze followed Li Yunyan's back, and there was an indescribable emotion in his eyes.
The next morning, Sang Shijing opened his eyes and looked at the light shining through the leaves outside the window, his expression somewhat dazed.
Hearing the slight movement inside the room, Dongyan knew that the young master had gotten up, so he carried hot water and pushed open the door to enter.
"Young master, Dongyan will assist you with washing up."
"Um."
After washing up and eating a small bowl of medicinal food, Dongyan habitually carried Sang Shijing to the wheelchair.
"What book would you like to read today, young master?"
Sang Shijing's eyes flickered. "Where is Doctor Li?"
"Dr. Li has just had breakfast and is now in the outer room!"
Push me out.
"yes."
As soon as Sang Shijing stepped out of the house, he saw Li Yunyan standing by the window.
She clasped her hands together and raised them upwards, stretching them. Her loose sleeves bunched up, revealing her fair and jade-like wrists.
Hearing a sound behind her, Li Yunyan suddenly turned around and smiled sweetly at him. The breeze outside the window blew her long hair, which danced lightly with the headband tied in her hair, making her look as beautiful as a painting.
Sang Shijing's fingers twitched, suppressing the urge to immediately pick up a brush and paint, and she nodded gently to her, "Dr. Li."
When Li Yunyan saw that it was him, she carefully closed the window before walking over and curtsying to him, "Young Master."
He slightly raised his palm. "Dr. Li, there's no need for such formalities in the future."
Li Yunyan smiled slightly, which was taken as an agreement. She walked to his side and squatted down, calmly raising his arm. First, she felt the temperature of the back of his hand, then she lifted his sleeve and took his pulse.
She closed her eyes to feel his pulse. After giving him a quarter of a pill yesterday, his life was half saved, but he would still need several months to fully recover.
She opened her eyes and looked at him, only to find that his gaze had just moved away from her.
Li Yunyan seemed oblivious and instructed, "From now on, administer acupuncture once in the morning and once in the evening, and take medicine once every ten days. Remember to keep a peaceful mind and do not get angry."
Dong Yan interjected, "Doctor Li, rest assured, our young master has the best temperament and never gets angry!"
"That's good!"
Li Yunyan stood up and took Dongyan's place, placing her fingers on the wheelchair. "Then let's go administer the acupuncture now. Dongyan, you go and prepare."
"yes."
Seeing how naturally Li Yunyan was making Dongyan run around, Sang Shijing couldn't help but smile.
*
Sang Shijing's life was actually very dull. Before Li Yunyan came, he spent his days sitting by the window reading and waiting to die.
