"Xiaoyan, why did President Wei give you these? Did he guess something?"
Li Yunyan remained noncommittal. "Perhaps he just felt guilty for disturbing our shopping trip, or perhaps he really guessed something and was testing me."
"But no matter what, as long as he doesn't make me abort the child, I'm not afraid of anything! It's just some baby stuff, not a particularly expensive gift!"
After she finished speaking, she noticed that Yuan Man was looking at her with a strange expression.
"What? Is there something dirty on my face?"
"No!" Yuan Man shook her head. "I just find your speech too formal and unpleasant to listen to! And that handsome young man helped us carry our things in; we should have offered him a glass of water before he left. But your reaction was so matter-of-fact, as if it was his duty to carry our things in!"
Li Yunyan choked. He was Wei Luchen's subordinate, and everything he did was just following orders. Wasn't that what he was supposed to do?
