Jiang Cheng, however, did not notice the tenderness on Zhao Xuerou's face; he was simply eating the shrimp in his bowl absentmindedly.
He didn't care about what Zhao Xuerou said; he was just thinking about the projection.
Suddenly, he looked up at the chattering Zhao Xuerou and abruptly asked, "By the way, do we... do we have anything we've kept since college?"
Zhao Xuerou was startled and dropped the chopsticks in her hand.
She thought it was her nagging that annoyed Jiang Cheng, so she subconsciously took a step back, closed her eyes, and prepared for the slap that might come.
But after hearing Jiang Cheng's question, Zhao Xuerou opened her eyes again and asked with a hint of doubt, "Hmm? Why are you suddenly asking this?"
Fortunately, her opinion of Jiangcheng hadn't changed; it was just a physiological conditioned reflex that she couldn't change in a short time.
Jiang Cheng noticed her fear, but simply lowered his head slightly, erasing it from his mind, and continued to ask casually, "I was just asking, it's nothing. You don't have to tell me if you can't remember."
"Of course I remember!"
Zhao Xuerou naturally didn't want to miss any opportunity to be close to Jiang Cheng, so she tried hard to recall everything from before, and said with a smile, "Well... my hesitation isn't because I can't remember, it's because there's just too much!"
"oh?"
Jiang Cheng smiled, a rare occurrence for him. He lowered his head and crunched the celery in his mouth, asking in a muffled voice, "Then tell me about it, I can't quite remember."
"I can't remember..."
Upon hearing Jiang Cheng's words, a hint of disappointment flashed in Zhao Xuerou's eyes.
But she quickly suppressed her disappointment, put on a cheerful smile, and casually picked up the dolphin knife. She then opened the bottle of red wine and said in a light tone, "It's okay! Even if you don't remember, I remember everything very clearly. I'll help you recall!"
"Oh, right."
Zhao Xuerou didn't rush to talk about the past. She simply took down a dusty wine dispenser from the shelf next to her, turned around, and went into the kitchen. "Hehe, this wine dispenser you gave me back then is finally going to be used. This bottle of wine is finally opened! Do you remember this?"
Zhao Xuerou had a bright smile on her face as she showed the wine dispenser in her hand to Jiang Cheng, who was sitting at the dining table outside: "This is the red wine you gave me for our first year of marriage, our anniversary. I was planning to wait until I got promoted to celebrate, but it's still very appropriate to drink it now."
"Yes, an anniversary..."
A small thought flashed through Jiang Cheng's mind, but he remained expressionless.
"Here, you should try some too."
After wiping the water off the decanter, Zhao Xuerou took two wine glasses from the shelf, placing one in front of herself and the other in front of Jiang Cheng.
The wine was poured into the decanter, and the swirling liquid left shimmering halos on the glass. The deep red color made Zhao Xuerou's face look exceptionally delicate.
Zhao Xuerou's nose twitched slightly as she inhaled the fragrant liquid, closing her eyes in a slightly intoxicated state: "It really smells so good, the taste must be great too, right?"
"Try it."
Jiang Cheng simply uttered two words and took the decanter: "I'll do it."
Seeing the man in front of her doing something for her, Zhao Xuerou was surprised. This surprise quickly turned into tenderness, making her extremely happy.
She picked up her glass, smiled, and raised it towards Jiang Cheng: "Come on, let's have a drink together?"
Normally, the sentence Zhao Xuerou said to Jiang Cheng most often was "drink less." She rarely took the initiative to urge Jiang Cheng to drink like this.
It's clear she's really happy today.
The crimson wine flowed down her beautiful lips and teeth, two drops accidentally escaping from the corner of her mouth. These two drops of red wine slid down her smooth neck to her chest, looking incredibly alluring.
Jiang Cheng simply shifted his gaze silently and drank the wine in another direction.
I must say, this wine is really good. It's smooth on the palate, not astringent, sweet but not cloying, and full of rich fruity aromas, with a hint of rose.
After finishing her drink, Zhao Xuerou's expression softened. She casually grabbed a napkin, wiped the traces from the corner of her mouth, and then sat back down opposite Jiang Cheng, smiling brightly: "Oh, right, do you remember that camera? The one you bought after working part-time for over two months during college."
"Oh, the camera, what's wrong?"
Jiang Cheng simply responded to her remarks.
Zhao Xuerou seemed a little tipsy, and she stood up and gestured exaggeratedly: "Hahaha, you haven't forgotten, have you? Back then, you spent two whole months' worth of part-time wages, gritting your teeth, to buy that camera. You said you wanted to cultivate a love for photography and that I would be your lifelong model, taking pictures wherever you went!"
As she spoke, she gestured two poses for the photo, her smile becoming even more captivating: "Oh, thinking back to how serious you were back then, I just think, youth really is about daring to dream about anything, it was so much fun..."
"And then what happened? Was it filmed?"
Jiang Cheng put down his chopsticks, gently swirled the liquid in his glass, and squinted at Zhao Xuerou.
Under the lights, her delicate face was incredibly beautiful, and her bright, almond-shaped eyes were even more captivating. She was truly "as radiant as spring blossoms, as beautiful as the moon."
Jiang Cheng was somewhat lost in thought when he suddenly snapped back to reality.
Don't look too much, be mindful of your status...
