Chapter 131 Chu Rou? He also wanted a piece of the pie.

Chapter 131 Chu Rou? He also wanted a piece of the pie.

Chu Rou nodded, "Xu Lan is very powerful. At worst, the two of us can take on your brother together and definitely beat him down."

Qi Lin's smile was forced. If her brother knew that she had conspired with others to scheme against him, would he skin her alive when he got home?

"Sister Chu Rou, you must go easy on her!"

Chu Rou hummed in agreement. "Don't worry, you won't die."

Qi Lin: Brother, I will light a lamp and pray for you.

Mo Chi came out a little late, and when he arrived at the restaurant, he saw Mo Anbang, which was quite a rare sight.

He sat down directly opposite his father and said, "Dad, you've come to eat with me today!"

Mo Anbang glared at Mo Chi, this child was becoming more and more disrespectful.

Why didn't you go home after you came back from City C?

Mo Chi paused in his work. "I came back too late yesterday, so I went back to my apartment."

Mo Anbang gave a faint "hmm," and asked, "Have you been spending a bit too much lately?"

Mo Chi paused again, "Is it a lot? Only a little over ten million."

"Only a little over ten million?" Mo Anbang put down his chopsticks. "Didn't I just give you a hundred million in pocket money? Why have you been using my supplementary card all this time?"

Um... Mo Chi lowered his eyes, pondering how to answer his father's question.

"Are you keeping a mistress on the side?" Mo Anbang asked in a low voice.

Mo Chi raised his eyes, met Mo Anbang's gaze, and gently shook his head, "No."

He's supporting his wife.

Mo Anbang stared at Mo Chi for a few seconds before looking away. "It's best if there isn't one. If the Qi family finds out you're keeping a woman outside, then your marriage with Qi Lin is off the table. Your Uncle Qi dotes on Qi Lin the most."

"Dad, don't worry, I'm not like my second brother. I won't mess around outside," Mo Chi said confidently, not forgetting to put down Mo Yuan.

Mo Anbang snorted coldly and stood up. "There's a meeting this afternoon, don't forget to attend."

"I'll definitely be there on time!"

Mo Anbang left, leaving Mo Chi to eat alone in silence.

"Xiao Chi, you've come to eat here in person today?" Mo Yuan suddenly sat down opposite Mo Chi.

Hearing the familiar yet loathsome voice, Mo Chi didn't even look up. "Does Second Brother need someone to feed him?"

Mo Yuan chuckled, "What about your special assistant? Doesn't he pack up food for you to take home every day?"

Mo Chi swallowed the last bite of food, put down his utensils, and smiled. "I don't need to anymore. Now that someone's accounts have been settled, I won't be so busy."

Mo Yuan's face darkened, and he narrowed his eyes. He sneered, "I really underestimated you. But this is just the beginning."

“Yes, it’s only just begun.” Mo Chi wiped his mouth and stood up. “Second Brother, I’m finished eating. You can eat slowly.”

Mo Yuan withdrew his gaze from Mo Chi's departing figure, glanced down at the food, and threw his chopsticks on the table. He had absolutely no appetite.

After lunch break, Mo Chi came out of the office with a laptop in his hand. "Chu Rou, come with me to the meeting."

Chu Rou received Mo Chi's message at noon. She had already prepared her things. When she heard Mo Chi's call, she picked up her things, got up, and followed him.

Sun Li looked up and glanced at Mo Chi and Chu Rou as they left. When Mo Chi and Chu Rou spoke, they would lower their heads and get closer, a privilege that no one else received.

She glanced at Qi Lin again, wanting to see her reaction, but Qi Lin continued doing what she was doing, showing no signs of anger.

Sun Li was a little confused.

Guo Jia, with her large wavy hair, turned to Xu Lan and asked, "Xu Lan, did you and Assistant Chu know each other before?"

Xu Lan paused for a moment, then nodded, realizing there was nothing to hide. "Sister Chu Rou and I were transferred from Wanhua Electronics in City C."

Guo Jia raised her eyebrows, looking enlightened. "No wonder Assistant Chu and President Chi are so familiar with each other."

Xu Lan hummed in agreement. "When Sister Chu Rou was at Wanhua, she was President Chi's special assistant."

Guo Jia smiled at Xu Lan and turned her head away.

Sun Li lowered her head, seemingly lost in thought.

...

Chu Rou followed Mo Chi to the conference room upstairs.

When they went in, there weren't many people there yet.

When the high-ranking officials arrived, they all greeted Mo Chi warmly, but their eyes were all on Chu Rou, simply because Chu Rou was too eye-catching. She had followed Mo Chi in, and everyone was speculating whether the relationship between the two was normal.

Chu Rou was not qualified to sit at the conference table, but there were chairs in the back row, so she went over and sat down.

Mo Chi sat down in the second seat on the left. He glanced back and felt that Chu Rou was a bit too far away from him. He beckoned to Chu Rou, "Come sit closer."

Chu Rou could only stand up and move her chair behind Mo Chi to sit down.

Mo Chi was satisfied when he caught a glimpse of Chu Rou out of the corner of his eye. He turned to talk to her, but Chu Rou craned her neck forward. He heard Mo Chi whisper, "Wife, I miss you so much when I can't see you."

Chu Rou bit her lower lip, pretending to listen to serious matters, and gripped the notebook tightly with both hands. She was afraid that she would not be able to resist punching the inkwell. Even in this situation, he did not forget to flirt with her.

She said calmly, "I understand, Mr. Chi."

After Chu Rou finished speaking, she gave Mo Chi a warning look.

Mo Chi sat up straight with a smile in his eyes.

The conference room door was pushed open, and a man with a cold and stern face walked in.

"President Yan!" The people in the conference room greeted the man.

"Master Yan?" Chu Rou thought of Mo Chi's elder brother, Mo Yan.

She peeked over and saw that Mo Yan and Mo Chi looked about 60% alike, clearly brothers.

Mo Yan looks more mature than Mo Chi, and his demeanor is more composed.

He sat down on the left side of the ink pond.

"Big brother," Mo Chi greeted Mo Yan.

Mo Yan nodded. "You're back? Everything's arranged over there?"

Mo Chi replied respectfully, "Yes, everything is arranged."

He suddenly turned around, pointed at Chu Rou and introduced her, "Big brother, this is my special assistant, Chu Rou. Please take good care of her in the future."

Mo Yan looked at Chu Rou, her brows furrowing slightly. "Where's Qin Feng? Why the sudden change of assistant?"

“Qin Feng will handle other matters for me, while Chu Rou is more suitable to stay with me at the company,” Mo Chi explained.

Mo Yan didn't say anything more, looked away, and waited for the meeting to start.

The seats were almost full, and only Mo Chi came to the meeting with his assistant, making Chu Rou stand out.

Chu Rou ignored the scrutinizing gazes of the crowd and sat upright with her eyes lowered.

Mo Yuan and Mo Anbang came together.

Mo Anbang sat in the main seat, glanced around, and saw Chu Rou, their eyes meeting.

Chu Rou didn't know if her father-in-law still remembered her, but she assumed he did. Chu Rou smiled and nodded slightly to her father-in-law.

Mo Anbang nodded almost imperceptibly.

Mo Yuan stared directly at Chu Rou without any attempt to hide his greedy and wicked gaze. So this was Chu Rou, Qi Hang's girlfriend and Mo Chi's assistant. Was she entangled with two men?

Mo Yuan smiled, he also wanted a piece of the pie!
