Chapter 256 What is the relationship between her brother and me?

Chapter 256 What is the relationship between her brother and me?

As soon as the number was activated, a number of messages popped up, all of them missed call notifications from American numbers. Nancy recognized the number; it was Morrison's assistant, Corey's phone number.

He must have been unable to contact the person who was with her, which is why he called her.

After Nancy's accident, she turned off her US phone number, fearing that Laura could track her location.

But now that she's with Chu Rou, the villa has good security and plenty of bodyguards, so she doesn't need to worry about Lola's people coming after her. If she wants to return to the US, she still needs to contact Morrison.

Now only he can protect her.

Another message popped up on her phone. Nancy saw the familiar number, her heart clenched, and her hands trembled as she tapped the number. The message box contained only two words: "Come back!"

Nancy was used to obeying Morrison's every order, and upon seeing this message, she should go back immediately, no matter what.

But she couldn't bear to leave Chu Rou. She craved the warmth Chu Rou brought her. She could feel that Chu Rou genuinely liked her and that her concern for her was real.

She had never received such genuine affection since she was ten years old.

Before she was ten years old, only her mother loved her.

Nancy hesitated for a moment before replying directly to Morrison's message and instead sent a message to Morrison's assistant, Corey.

She was said to have been hunted down, and all the people who followed her were gone. Now she has been taken in by a kind person and is relatively safe. She will return to China once she gets a replacement passport.

After sending the new phone number to Corey, he turned off the US number.

This caused her to miss a message from a teacher at Dream Creek Manor about Ivan being abused.

Corey received Nancy's message early in the morning, and he immediately felt happy, letting out a sigh of relief. He was still unsure of his boss's attitude towards Nancy.

On the one hand, they might not ask about it for a month or two; on the other hand, they might ask about it at any time.

Although the boss didn't react much to Nancy's disappearance, his words, "Bring her back," made him realize that if he couldn't bring her back, he would lose his head.

He needs to keep an eye on Nancy's situation lately, in case the boss checks up on him at any time.

On the other side, Mo Chi was having a video call with Chu Rou. Seeing that Chu Rou had returned to City B, Mo Chi felt a little relieved.

"Rou Rou, if all goes well, I can go back to China next weekend."

"Really?" Chu Rou's almond-shaped eyes widened, and the corners of her mouth turned up. "Mo Bao, you're amazing! You completed a task that was planned for two months in less than a month."

"Yes, I miss you so much," Mo Chi said with a wronged expression and mournful eyes, "Wife, kiss me!"

Chu Rou kissed the screen twice. "Mo Bao, let's hang in there for another week, and we'll be able to meet."

...

Corey told Morrison about Nancy's news during Morrison's lunch break.

"Sir, we have news about Miss Nancy. She is being hunted down in China, and everyone around her has been killed."

Morrison's previously indifferent face furrowed slightly, but quickly returned to normal. His voice was calm as he asked, "Is she alive?"

After noticing the change in Morrison's expression, Corey lowered his head. "Miss Nancy is safe now. She's in City B in China. She said she's getting her passport replaced and will return home as soon as it's ready."

"Did you send someone over?" Morrison asked casually.

"We've already sent people over; they'll bring Miss Nancy back safely."

Morrison grunted in response and then fell silent.

Corey stood still, seemingly wanting to say something but holding back.

Morrison glanced at him. "Is there anything else?"

Corey cleared his throat. "It's Miss Nancy's brother. He was taken to Martin's place."

Martin, that old pervert, loves to torture people. If Nancy's brother went there, he would at least lose half his life.

"When did Nancy have a younger brother?" Morrison asked, somewhat puzzled.

“He’s a cousin, and also an illegitimate son of the William family. Nancy usually takes good care of this boy,” Corey explained.

"What does that have to do with me?"

After receiving Morrison's answer, Corey nodded and left.

...

Chu Rou bought Nancy a lot of clothes, mostly neutral casual wear, and also told her not to wear corsets anymore, saying that if she kept binding her chest, it would disappear.

The clothes were rather loose, and Nancy was quite used to them.

Chu Rou takes Nancy with her wherever she goes.

While Chu Rou was working, she sat on the office sofa playing on her phone.

Nancy thought Chu Rou was amazing, she could do everything, and what she had learned in the manor over the years was how to please men.

Perhaps she should learn something else, so that she can have a way out once Morrison gets tired of her.

Zhuang Ling would steal glances at Nancy every now and then. She thought the girl was so exquisite and beautiful that if she were a man, she would be completely captivated.

She took out her snacks and offered them to Nancy, "Nancy, would you like some snacks?"

"Thank you!" Nancy took the spicy strips Zhuang Ling handed her. "Huh, spicy strips?"

This was her favorite snack when she was a child, but she hasn't eaten it since she came to the United States.

She opened the package, took a bite, and it tasted the same as always. Nancy's eyes widened with satisfaction, and she smiled at Zhuang Ling, "Delicious, thank you Zhuang Ling."

Zhuang Ling was struck by Nancy's smile. She waved her hand hastily, "You're welcome, you're welcome, I'm glad you like it."

Chu Rou looked up at him, her face showing displeasure. "Zhuang Ling, why don't you share your good food with me? You've lost all your love!"

"There's some for you," Zhuang Ling casually took a few items and placed them on Chu Rou's desk. "Sister Chu Rou, there's more left after you finish eating."

"That's more like it!" Chu Rou picked up a piece of chocolate and put it in her mouth. "Eating is the best way to relieve stress, but it's easy to gain weight."

Zhuang Ling pinched her waist; she had indeed gained weight recently, but she just couldn't control her cravings. "What should I do about all this weight gain?"

Chu Rou looked at Zhuang Ling, her chin resting on her hand. Her face was rounder than before. "You look just right now. You're not fat. Just keep it up."

"I can't keep it up. I'm not hungry, but my mouth just won't stop moving," Zhuang Ling said, feeling very distressed.

"Why don't you see a psychologist? It's clearly caused by excessive mental stress," Chu Rou suggested.

Zhuang Ling has been having a tough time lately. After Song Miao got into trouble, he was sent abroad, and Madam Song took her anger out on Zhuang Ling.

Every time Madam Song made sarcastic remarks to Zhuang Ling, Song Hongyi would have a big argument with her, making the Song family a mess.

Zhuang Ling wanted to move out of the Song family home, but Song Hongyi disagreed, saying that she was a daughter of the Song family and had to live there. He added that he would stand up for her if anyone mistreated her.

Zhuang Ling is now in a dilemma. She regrets acknowledging her relatives. Perhaps she would be more comfortable and at ease living alone.

Chu Rou took out her phone and pushed Deng Qian's business card to Zhuang Ling, "Why don't you go see her? She's a psychologist and a nice person."
