Chapter 282 Has he forgotten about me?

Chapter 282 Has he forgotten about me?

Deng Qian cried silently for a long time. She let go of He Wei's hand and went to the bathroom to clean her tear-stained face.

He Wei slowly opened his eyes on the hospital bed, his gaze vacant as he scanned the ward. He tried to sit up, but found himself extremely dizzy, so he lay back down.

Hearing the noise outside, Deng Qian thought someone had come in and hurriedly came out of the bathroom. She didn't see anyone and was a little confused. Could she be hallucinating?

Deng Qian glanced unconsciously at He Wei on the bed and saw that He Wei was looking at her. She turned around to go back to the bathroom to continue, but suddenly realized the problem, stopped, stiffly turned her body, and looked at the hospital bed.

Upon looking at each other, she met He Wei's gaze. She was surprised, while He Wei was bewildered.

Deng Qian ran a few steps to He Wei's bedside. "He Wei, when did you wake up?"

He probably didn't hear what she said!

"Who are you?"

A cold voice came from He Wei's mouth, and Deng Qian stood there stunned.

Oh no, He Wei has lost his memory!

The doctor had previously mentioned that severe brain injury can lead to amnesia, which may be temporary or permanent.

Chu Rou's father is a case in point; he hasn't been able to recall everything even after more than twenty years.

Deng Qian was struggling internally. Should she follow Qi Feiyao's example? Perhaps this was an opportunity to stay with He Wei forever.

However, Qi Feiyao's current condition made Deng Qian suppress her previous thoughts.

"Don't you recognize me?" Deng Qian asked again uncertainly.

He Wei stared at her for a long time, his eyes devoid of any emotion, and said indifferently, "I don't know her."

Deng Qian swallowed hard and tentatively asked, "Do you still remember Chu Rou?"

"Rou Rou? Where is she?" He Wei's eyes lit up at the mention of Chu Rou's name, and he became more talkative. "How did I end up in the hospital?"

Deng Qian was devastated. There was no fairness in the world of relationships. He Wei remembered Chu Rou but not her.

"Let me have the doctor come and examine you first." Deng Qian left the ward as if fleeing to find the doctor.

He Wei glanced at Deng Qian's fleeing figure, frowned slightly, and then closed his eyes.

After examining He Wei, the doctor discovered that he had only lost nearly five years of his memory.

Deng Qian looked at He Wei meaningfully. He had lost five years of memories. Five years ago, He Wei and Chu Rou were still in the throes of a passionate relationship, and he hadn't gotten together with He Yin yet.

That's a great choice!

Deng Qian stood by He Wei's bedside, seemingly murmuring to herself, "It's a pity that only you can go back to five years ago. If I could, I would also like to go back to five years ago."

He Wei acted as if he hadn't heard him, fixated on finding Chu Rou. "I want to see Chu Rou, please help me contact her."

Deng Qian pursed her lips, her heart filled with mixed feelings. After hesitating for a long time, she finally took out her phone and dialed Chu Rou's number.

Chu Rou and Mo Chi were having a high-level meeting at the company when a silent phone lit up on the table. Chu Rou glanced at it and saw that the caller was Deng Qian. She was shocked. Could it be that something had happened to He Wei?

She suddenly stood up and, in full view of everyone, walked out of the conference room with her phone in hand.

The executive giving the report stopped, unsure whether to continue.

Mo Anbang frowned, but didn't speak, signaling the executives to continue.

Mo Yan acted as if he hadn't seen anything and continued listening to the report.

Seeing Chu Rou leave, Mo Chi couldn't sit still any longer, so he picked up his phone and followed her out.

The executives present all looked curiously towards the door, wondering what was going on with this young couple!

Now everyone in the company knows about the relationship between Chu Rou and Mo Chi.

A few days ago, Mo Chi sent a group email to every employee, sending them his and Chu Rou's wedding invitation. The wedding is in October, less than a month away.

Those who secretly cursed Chu Rou back then were all proven wrong; it turns out Chu Rou was the real culprit.

After hurriedly leaving the conference room, Chu Rou answered Deng Qian's call, "Deng Qian, has something happened to He Wei?"

Deng Qian gave a soft "Mmm," and said, "He's awake!"

Hearing that He Wei had woken up, Chu Rou breathed a sigh of relief, her tone becoming much lighter, "That's great, I can finally rest easy."

“He Wei has woken up, but something unexpected happened,” Deng Qian thought to herself that Chu Rou was being too happy too soon. She paused for a moment, “He has lost five years of his memory.”

Chu Rou blinked, her first thought being the five years they had been together. "Has he forgotten me? That's a good thing!"

Deng Qian paused for two seconds, then sighed, "You're overthinking it. He's forgotten me; he's lost his memories of the last five years."

"His current memory is of being hit by a car on his way to buy you a small cake."

This time, it was Chu Rou's turn to remain silent.

Chu Rou vividly remembers the car accident. She had only been with He Wei for a few months and was still in the honeymoon phase.

He Wei was interning at Wanhua Company at that time. Every weekend when he went back to school, he would go to the dessert shop downstairs in Wanhua Company to buy her a small piece of strawberry cream cake, just because she said it was delicious after eating it once.

That day, because he worked late and was in a hurry to get back to school to see her, he ran a red light while crossing the street and was hit by a car going straight.

Chu Rou remembers receiving a call from the hospital and being completely terrified. She ran to the hospital, hugged He Wei, and cried for a long time, saying she would never eat small cakes again.

Those sweet memories surged back, and Chu Rou was so engrossed in them that she remained silent for a long time.

Deng Qian waited quietly for Chu Rou's reply without urging her.

He Wei couldn't wait any longer. He called out anxiously, "Rou Rou, when are you coming to see me? I miss you!"

Deng Qian felt a pang of heartache. She heard Mo Chi's voice on the phone, followed by a series of beeps.

Deng Qian glanced at He Wei, whose gaze was urgent. "What did Rou Rou say?"

"She didn't say anything and hung up the phone." Deng Qian put down her phone.

He Wei frowned slightly. "Rou Rou won't abandon me. She should be here soon."

"You still haven't said who you are?" He Wei stared intently at Deng Qian and asked, "Are you Chu Rou's friend? I've never heard her mention you before!"

“I…” Deng Qian didn’t know how to introduce herself. “I am your psychotherapist.”

Deng Qian took a deep breath and swallowed the last part, "She is also your wife."

"A psychologist?" He Wei's expression turned defensive and resistant. "I've never seen a psychologist. What's your purpose in approaching me?"

“He Wei, you have amnesia,” Deng Qian said, biting her lower lip. “You’ve lost five years of memories. You need to be prepared. A lot can change in five years.”
