Chapter 283 He'd give any compensation he wanted, except for any advances towards Rou Rou.
Mo Chi snatched Chu Rou's phone and hung up.
Chu Rou frowned and looked at him. "What are you doing? I haven't finished talking to Deng Qian yet."
"What else is there to say!" Mo Chi said coldly, his tone firm. "Hasn't He Wei already woken up? Then you don't have to worry about him anymore."
"I'll talk to him about what he wants in return!"
Chu Rou sighed helplessly, "Mo Bao, no matter what, He Wei saved me this time. You know how dangerous it was that day. If it weren't for him, I might be in an urn by now."
"Spit it out!" Mo Chi grabbed Chu Rou's shoulders angrily. "Don't say such unlucky things anymore. Are you trying to stab me in the heart?"
"Pah, pah, pah!" Chu Rou realized she had said something unlucky and immediately spat it out. "I was wrong, Mo Bao!"
She looked up at Mo Chi tenderly, "Would you come with me to see He Wei? I just want to make sure he's alright in person. If he needs anything, we'll do our best to help him, just to put our minds at ease."
Hearing Chu Rou say this, Mo Chi's expression softened a bit. He did indeed need to check on He Wei to see if he had really lost his memory or if he was up to some new trick.
After sending a message to Mo Yan, Mo Chi took Chu Rou to the hospital.
Chu Rou pushed open the door to the ward, and the talking inside stopped.
"Rou Rou, you're here!" He Wei's eyes flashed with surprise.
Mo Chi followed Chu Rou into the ward, coldly watching He Wei.
He Wei's eyes darkened when he saw Mo Chi. "Rou Rou, who is this man? How come you're with him?"
Deng Qian walked over to Chu Rou and whispered in her ear, "The doctor said he has selective amnesia. He can't be stimulated and needs to recover slowly."
Chu Rou glanced back at Mo Chi; she was now truly in a dilemma.
"Rou Rou, come here!" He Wei looked displeased and reached out to beckon Chu Rou.
Chu Rou took a step forward, but Mo Chi grabbed her hand from behind, preventing her from going any further.
“He Wei…” Chu Rou carefully considered her words, trying to find a way to say it without upsetting He Wei while still making their current relationship clear, “You… are already married.”
"We got married?" He Wei's eyes were full of joy. "They said I had forgotten what happened in the last five years, and that a lot can happen in five years, but I believed that our feelings for each other would not change. Sure enough, we really got married."
Chu Rou was speechless. She turned to look at Deng Qian, whose head was down and eyes were fixed on the instep. Chu Rou couldn't see her expression at all.
Did Deng Qian not mention her marriage to He Wei?
“You didn’t marry Chu Rou,” Mo Chi took a few steps forward and blocked Chu Rou’s path. “She is my wife now.”
"Impossible!" He Wei roared, struggling to sit up, his head throbbing as if pricked with needles!
"Ah!" He Wei grabbed his head with both hands, his face turning pale.
"He Wei!"
"He Wei!"
Deng Qian and Chu Rou rushed over anxiously. When He Wei saw Chu Rou coming over, he grabbed her wrist tightly, endured his headache, and gritted his teeth, saying, "Rou Rou, what he said isn't true, right? How could you marry someone else? You said you would only love me in this life and would only marry me."
Chu Rou stood frozen in place. She had indeed said those words, but she wanted to ask He Wei: Who said that he would only love her in this life, only want her, and only kiss her? You haven't done anything, so what right do you have to question her!
"He Wei, don't get agitated!" Deng Qian pressed the call button to reassure He Wei.
Mo Chi walked over, pulled He Wei's hand off Chu Rou's wrist, hugged Chu Rou in his arms, and kissed Chu Rou in front of He Wei.
He Wei's eyes were bloodshot with rage, and he fainted from the shock.
"He Wei!" Deng Qian exclaimed in surprise.
Chu Rou pushed Mo Chi away and saw He Wei faint, feeling a pang of guilt.
The doctor arrived, and Chu Rou and Mo Chi stepped back a few paces to make way.
After the doctor finished the examination, Deng Qian asked, "Doctor, how is he? He won't fall into a coma again, will he?"
“It’s uncertain,” the doctor said with a troubled expression. “Didn’t I tell you not to agitate the patient? We can only continue to observe his condition and try to talk to him as much as possible.”
The doctor left, leaving behind Deng Qian, Chu Rou, and Mo Chi.
"Deng Qian, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come if I had known this would happen," Chu Rou said apologetically.
Deng Qian glanced at Mo Chi, who was standing next to Chu Rou nonchalantly, his arm still tightly around Chu Rou.
"Sigh!" Deng Qian sighed deeply, "I don't know what to do now."
“He’s cut ties with his parents, and now you’re the closest person to him,” Mo Chi glanced coldly at He Wei on the bed. “You can do whatever you want. Can’t you use hypnosis? Change his memories and make him fall completely in love with you, okay?”
Deng Qian wanted to roll her eyes at Mo Chi, "You've been reading too many science fiction novels! If I had that ability, I'd just become the matchmaker."
"Do you really have to provoke him today? He just woke up, and you've made him faint again."
Deng Qian wanted to blame Mo Chi, but from Mo Chi's perspective, it was already quite magnanimous of him not to beat up his wife when another man was eyeing her, so her tone wasn't so harsh.
Mo Chi snorted coldly, "I've said it before, he saved Rou Rou, he can have whatever compensation he wants, but he can't covet Rou Rou."
“If he tries to take advantage of my kindness and remains obstinate, I, Mo Chi, am no saint either. Kindness won’t work on me. Rou Rou is too embarrassed to do it, but I, Mo Chi, am willing to be the villain.”
"Mo Chi!" Chu Rou looked at Mo Chi disapprovingly. "How can you say that? A debt of gratitude is a debt of gratitude. I will not do anything ungrateful."
Mo Chi withdrew his hand, pursed his lips, and squinted at Chu Rou. Suddenly, he sneered, "How do you intend to repay this debt of gratitude? By offering yourself to me?"
"Can't you ever forget him? Do you want to use this opportunity to get back to him? Have you been toying with my feelings all along?"
"Mo Chi, what are you saying?" Chu Rou looked at Mo Chi in disbelief. "All I want right now is for He Wei to return to normal. What's wrong with that?"
"How do you want to bring him back to normal?" Mo Chi raised his voice, veins bulging on his forehead. "Do you want to relive the passionate days of your relationship with him? Or do you want to play along and become his wife!"
"I never thought that way!" Chu Rou had never argued with Mo Chi before, but this was their first fight, and Mo Chi's words hit her right in the gut.
Yes, how could she remind He Wei of the past few years and tell him about it? Back then, she and He Wei were very sweet and happy together, and she couldn't talk about that.
Mo Chi wanted to hear a promise from Chu Rou, but Chu Rou stood there, speechless, her thoughts wandering elsewhere.
Chu Rou's silence felt like a boulder pressing on Mo Chi's chest, making him feel incredibly stifled and uncomfortable.
Mo Chi's breathing was heavy; he felt like his lungs were about to explode. He didn't want to stay there any longer, so he turned around and slammed the door shut.
