The door was not locked; it could be opened with a gentle twist.
Pushing open the door, I saw Su Yuxi sitting on the balcony, looking sullen and scrolling through her phone.
Hearing a noise outside the door, she merely glanced at it briefly before looking away.
Fu Huaijin sighed again. He should have come to terms with reality long ago. This little money-grubber loves money so much. How could she possibly let go of such a large sum of money? It's possible that he wasn't as important to her as 1.2 billion.
He walked over slowly and stood behind Su Yuxi, gently placing his hands on her shoulders. His tall frame slowly bent down, and he whispered in her ear, "Alright, if you don't want to return the money, then don't. Don't be angry. Let's go downstairs and eat first."
Su Yuxi pursed her lips, a slight smile curving her lips, then put down her phone, turned back and gave him an awkward yet feignedly calm look: "You said it, no refund."
"Well, you can keep your money if you want." Fu Huaijin finally gave in and ruffled her hair.
Su Yuxi grinned and flashed a bright smile.
"good."
The two's first argument ended just like that.
They stayed in Shengjing for two days, and then Fu Huaijin immediately took them to F country. Who knows what other trouble might arise if they stayed any longer.
Country F is great, a new country.
A place with a chaotic system but abundant in rare minerals. It's a land of money but also full of endless dangers. A single misstep here could send you to your eternal rest.
Today, the weather in a small town in Country F is cloudy turning to light rain, with a thin layer of mist covering the sky.
They arrived at the highest point of a wealthy residential area, where they enjoyed a panoramic view.
When you look out from the spacious and bright floor-to-ceiling windows, you can see the entire mountain forest shrouded in a misty rain curtain. Whether it's the distant mountains or the nearby water, it's as if they're covered with a dreamlike mist. Brew a pot of tea and slowly savor the view; it's a truly idyllic scene.
"I hate rainy days." Su Yuxi lay bored on the sofa. When it rained, she couldn't go out to play, and if she was in the mountains, her beautiful fur would get wet.
This kind of weather is very unpleasant.
Fu Huaijin tapped his notebook lightly and explained in a low voice, "The weather here is unpredictable. The rain will stop soon."
Not long after he finished speaking, the drizzling rain stopped immediately.
The bright red sun peeked out from behind the thick clouds, illuminating the entire rainforest and draping it in a dazzling golden veil.
Su Yuxi immediately jumped up from the sofa as if she had been injected with chicken blood, ran to the French windows and looked at the green mountains and clear waters, and said happily, "Really!"
But so what? The forest after the rain is even more annoying than when it rains. Everything is wet and damp, and caterpillars crawl out and spoil the fun.
She immediately abandoned her plan to run away, and like a worm, slowly moved to Fu Huaijin's side, resting her head on his lap. Gazing at his handsome face, she felt the faint fragrance of bamboo wafting into her nostrils. She liked the scent, so she hugged his waist and took a deep breath.
Fu Huaijin stiffened slightly, quickly replied to the last email, closed the laptop, took out the small hand that was messing with his abs, his heart was beating fast, but he remained calm: "I'm done with work, let's go shopping."
Su Yuxi's hand hovered in mid-air. She blinked lightly, a bright smile curving her lips. She immediately sat up from him and ran barefoot back to her room to change her clothes.
"Wait five minutes."
Five minutes later, Su Yuxi changed into a light, delicate, pure white dress. The white satin skirt touched her skin, making her complexion appear as white as snow and exquisitely beautiful. Her jet-black hair was tied up high, and her playful steps swayed with the flowing skirt, making her look like a fawn leaping in spring, full of youthful vitality.
When Fu Huaijin saw her come out, he immediately hung up the phone, walked over, took her hand, and complimented her outfit: "Very beautiful."
Su Yuxi smiled brightly, twirling around with her skirt in her hand: "Of course."
She is the most beautiful nine-tailed fox in the surrounding mountains and rivers, because only she herself can be ranked with her. She is a rare nine-tailed fox in the world.
"Let's go."
"Okay." The two walked out hand in hand.
The air outside was crisp and cool, and the surroundings were so quiet that there wasn't a soul in sight. The damp, chilly air carried a faint sense of loneliness, making it more suitable for people with a quiet temperament, such as Fu Huaijin.
There were more people when they reached the main urban area.
They first looked for a place to eat, but because it had just rained, there weren't many people in the restaurant.
Su Yuxi couldn't communicate with them, so Fu Huaijin took all the orders.
"I've ordered you a steak, sweet shrimp, salad, and dessert. You can add more if it's not enough."
"Hmm, anything is fine." She wasn't picky about food.
The two chatted casually for a while, and before long, Fu Huaijin's phone rang again. Ever since he got off the plane, he had been receiving endless phone calls and replying to countless emails.
Just then, the waiter brought over a medium-rare steak.
Fu Huaijin glanced at it and said apologetically, "You keep eating, I'll go answer the phone."
Su Yuxi watched his hurried figure disappear into the distance, her delicate eyebrows furrowing involuntarily. Although she didn't like him always answering the phone, she knew he was busy and couldn't afford to be delayed.
She gave a soft hum and carefully cut the steak with her fork.
She savored the tender, juicy steak while enjoying the view outside.
Suddenly, she stopped chewing abruptly, looked up sharply, and stared in shock through the glass at the corner of the road below... where a glimpse of a snow-white hem was hidden.
That is...
Su Yuxi jumped up from her seat and ran outside, unnoticed by Fu Huaijin, who was hiding in a corner answering a phone call.
With Su Yuxi on his mind, he quickly finalized the plan with the other party and then hung up.
But it was too late.
When he returned, he found the seat empty. His heart felt like it had been bitten, and half of his strength was instantly drained away. His fingers trembled slightly. He was afraid; he had only been gone for a few minutes, and the person had disappeared.
The steak on the plate had been eaten a few times, and the phone was left on the table. There were no signs of a struggle, indicating that she left on her own.
He took a deep breath and called the bodyguard downstairs, his voice trembling noticeably: "Have you seen Madam leave?"
The bodyguard, panting heavily, reported intermittently, "Yes, Madam is chasing something, but we're doing our best to catch up."
But the lady ran too fast; even with so many of them, they couldn't catch up.
Before he could finish speaking, the other end of the line had already hung up.
Fu Huaijin hung up the phone, turned on the location tracking device he had placed on Su Yuxi, threw a few bills on the table, and rushed out at top speed.
Su Yuxi was new here and everything was unfamiliar to her. She wouldn't recognize anyone unless someone with ulterior motives offered her something as bait to lure her away.
She is in danger.
