Chapter 234 A Strange Man Returns

He's busy, I guess.

He's a very busy man, and she's the only one with nothing to do. She's the only one who's just eating and waiting to die.

A wave of negative emotions swept over her mind. Su Yuxi curled up into a ball, like a wounded little shrimp seeking solace. She began to doubt herself and had wild thoughts, wondering if she was really that useless.

I think so.

But is this something she should be considering?

Oh well, if she's useless, she's useless. She's always been someone who takes things as they come and is destined to just coast along.

Looking at the missed video calls on her phone, she couldn't help but feel heartbroken. "Waaah... Why won't that jerk answer my video calls?"

Su Yuxi pounded on his pillow forcefully, as if treating the pillow as if it were him, venting her frustration to the fullest.

After venting her frustrations, she was exhausted and felt a little better. Her eyelids slowly closed without her realizing it, and she drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up the next day, a special delivery arrived at the villa, which required my signature.

Su Yuxi was still wondering who would send her a package here.

Of course, the bodyguard had already checked the contents of the box before she received it, making sure there was no danger before bringing it in for her.

When Su Yuxi approached the box, she knew what was inside without even opening it.

It was the hibiscus fruit she had been longing for.

Overjoyed, she carried the fruit back to the living room. As for why there were hibiscus fruits, she simply assumed that the chefs had found them for her.

Upon hearing that the hibiscus fruit had indeed been found, the nutritionist remembered what a member of the group had said. He shamelessly followed behind Su Yuxi, eager to see the hibiscus fruit for himself.

Su Yuxi carried the fruit to the table and was about to look for a knife when the nutritionist behind her immediately handed her a knife, smiling and saying, "Madam, here's a knife. Would you like me to help you?"

"No need, I can do it myself."

She snatched the knife and began scraping the cardboard box. The moment the box was opened, a rich fruity aroma filled the entire hall.

Su Yuxi closed her eyes and took a deep breath. The familiar and alluring fragrance instantly filled her nostrils and permeated her heart and soul.

Ah...that's the taste.

The nutritionist curiously peeked over and saw that the fruits were carefully arranged, each one bright red, crystal clear, and so delicate that they really did look like little lanterns.

Su Yuxi took one without washing it and stuffed it directly into her mouth.

The sweet, bursting flavor fills your mouth, and one bite makes you feel refreshed.

She took another one and put it in her mouth, becoming more and more addicted to it, and feeling more and more comfortable as she ate.

The nutritionist standing to the side swallowed hard; he also longed to taste what the hibiscus fruit tasted like and whether it could truly grant immortality.

Su Yuxi vaguely sensed a burning gaze behind her. She stopped eating the fruit, turned around and glanced at the nutritionist. Seeing his menacing eyes, she hugged her fruit tighter and asked defensively, "What do you want?"

The nutritionist looked away, scratched his head sheepishly, realizing his intentions had been too obvious and the host had noticed: "No, it's nothing. I just saw that Madam was enjoying the food. It looked delicious."

This was the first time he had ever been so shameless, with such an obvious hint, that his face involuntarily flushed.

Su Yuxi understood his subtext: she could share other things, but not this.

She relies on this thing to stay alive.

"Hmm, it's quite delicious." And that was the last thing said.

The nutritionist was so engrossed in looking at her that his neck was practically stretched out, and his drool was practically overflowing from the corners of his eyes, but the lady didn't even offer to give him one.

It made him so anxious all night that he dreamed of tasting a hibiscus fruit.

Since that day, Su Yuxi has received a box of fresh hibiscus fruits every other day.

She also asked the chef to mix hibiscus into various pastries, otherwise eating fruit all day long would make her mouth taste bland.

Su Yuxi got up very early today. She had no appetite a few days ago, but now that she has the hibiscus fruit, she looks forward to what the chef will cook for her every day.

When she got downstairs and saw the empty living room, Su Yuxi frowned. After looking around, she finally realized that something was wrong.

Neither the chef nor the nutritionist are here.

Whenever she goes downstairs, these two little devils start chattering in her ear, telling her what they're going to do with the things they're going to make.

What did you do today?

Su Yuxi didn't see anyone, so she sat on the sofa and waited for a while, until her stomach was growling with hunger, but no one came back.

So I decided to go into the kitchen and see what I could eat.

She had just opened the refrigerator and was looking inside when she suddenly turned her head and saw an unexpected figure.

Upon seeing the person who had arrived, a surprised smile spread across her face. She asked in astonishment, "Fu Huaijin? Why are you back?"

She had tried to contact this person every night for the past few days, but he seemed to have disappeared. He wouldn't answer her calls or reply to her messages. Now, his sudden appearance in front of her startled her.

Fu Huaijin smiled gently, reached out and wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her into his embrace. His deep voice was filled with deep affection: "Yes, I missed you. I came back to see you. Have you been eating well lately?"

Su Yuxi naturally nestled into the man's warm embrace. As their bodies pressed closely together, the excited smile on her face froze slightly, her back stiffened for a moment, and a look of doubt flashed in her eyes.

Just as Fu Huaijin's thin lips were about to touch her neck, Su Yuxi chuckled nonchalantly, then stepped out of his embrace, took his hand, and raised an innocent smile, her eyes fixed on his: "Of course."

"I wonder where the chef went today. I couldn't find him this morning, so I came to the fridge to find something to eat. When they come back, you have to punish them severely for daring to slack off during work hours."

Fu Huaijin smiled indulgently and gently stroked her hair as always, saying, "Hmm, I'll have someone replace them with a more obedient one for you."

Su Yuxi's bright eyes darkened slightly. She released his hand, turned around, took out a box of hibiscus fruit from the refrigerator, and replied to the man's words seriously.

But where Fu Huaijin couldn't see, the smile on her face had turned cold: "No need for that. Apart from them slacking off today, they've been well taken care of by me before, and I like them very much."

Fu Huaijin didn't detect anything unusual: "It's up to you. If you like, let them stay."

He looked at the fruit in Su Yuxi's hand, his brow furrowing slightly: "What is this you're holding?"

Su Yuxi's lips curled up slightly as she waved the fruit in front of him: "Oh, just some wild fruit."

"Do you want some?" She opened the lid and placed it in front of him, then pulled the fruit back when he reached for it.

"I don't want to give you any. You haven't contacted me for days. You want to eat my food as soon as you get back? Dream on."

She closed the box and skipped into the living room.

Fu Huaijin naturally followed, discreetly surveying the surroundings before sitting down next to Su Yuxi.
