Fu Huaijin was surrounded by a chilling aura. His tall figure slowly rose from his seat, and his gaze toward the woman was like a sharp ice blade, cold and terrifying.
"If you dare touch her, I'll kill you."
In this tense atmosphere, it is truly terrifying for a son to utter such harsh words to his mother.
Su Yuxi didn't know the reason, but when she heard that he wanted her mother to die, she couldn't help but tremble.
The others didn't stop him or say a word of reproach. They all stood up and stared intently at the woman, as if she were some kind of monster that would devour them in a moment.
Seeing how hostile everyone was to her, Su Yuxi knew that this woman must have done something outrageous. She didn't interrupt or pay attention, but just looked at Fu Huaijin.
The woman met his gaze, her expression unchanged. She shrugged indifferently, her eyes seemingly lingering on him. When she saw that both his hands were gloved, a subtle, enigmatic glint flashed in her eyes: "Since you don't like this gift, I'll prepare a better one next time. This one got dirty on the ground, so we don't need it."
She sighed, a hint of helplessness in her eyes, then raised her head with feigned strength and smiled resignedly: "It was my presumption to come uninvited. I came today to say hello to my son and future daughter-in-law. Now that you've seen me, you all know I'm back..."
"Please believe me... I'll invite you out again when I have time." Her words were quite subtle, and everyone frowned, wondering where she got the confidence to make such a bold statement to them. Weren't they afraid she wouldn't even be able to leave this room tonight?
With a 'smack', the old man understood the threat in her words. Enraged, he slammed the cup he was holding onto the ground and pointed a trembling finger at the woman: "Get out."
“Xu Feihong, let me tell you, as long as I am alive, if you dare to lay a hand on my grandson again, I will make sure your whole family dies without a burial place.”
Don't think that just because they've fled abroad and have foreign powers protecting them, they can live in peace. If they dare to mess with his grandson again, he'll risk his old life to kill their whole family.
Xu Feihong raised her hand and tucked a stray hair behind her ear, her smile deepening: "Dad, what are you saying? What happened before was my fault as a mother. I have now realized my mistake and feel guilty towards my child, so I want to come back and make it up to Huaijin."
Is there anything wrong with this?
The old man snorted coldly, not believing her words at all: "Aren't you afraid of being struck by lightning for saying that?"
"Butler, see the guests out."
With this woman here, it feels like the air is polluted.
Xu Feihong suppressed a smile, her gentle gaze sweeping over the people around her. She didn't mind the looks of rejection on their faces; she had already achieved her goal for the day.
"Okay, I won't bother you for now. I'll apologize to everyone in person later. Just don't turn me away then."
She said goodbye, picked up her small bag, and walked out.
Everyone looked at that figure with disdain, and her words almost made them vomit.
The person is gone, but the atmosphere at the dinner table can never return to the initial ease and comfort. Instead, it has become more somber, and no one is in the mood to continue the celebrations that were originally planned.
Everyone was distracted, and they couldn't taste the food in their mouths.
As soon as the men who held important positions at home were taken to the study, the women chatted with Su Yuxi, trying to dispel the somber atmosphere from earlier.
Su Yuxi could tell that many people were not in the right state of mind, and her gaze kept drifting towards the study, as if something bad was about to happen.
After Fu Huaijin came out, he didn't say anything, but simply pulled her and left the old house.
Since getting into the car, Fu Huaijin has kept his eyes closed and hasn't said a word, as if he wanted to isolate himself from the world.
Su Yuxi just watched from the side, wanting to ask but not knowing where to start.
As the car drove further and further away, the scenery flashed past the window. Su Yuxi couldn't stand the oppressive atmosphere, so she reached out and poked his arm, cautiously calling out, "Fu Huaijin..."
Are you alright?
Fu Huaijin slowly opened his eyes, his gaze deep and suppressed. He didn't say anything, just watched quietly. Su Yuxi moved closer to the car door, and then he spoke in a low voice, "Can I lean on your shoulder?"
Before Su Yuxi could answer, she was pulled onto someone's lap and sat down. Then a large head rested on her slender shoulder, and warm breath sprayed on her neck. She moved her mouth, but in the end, she didn't say anything. She could only find a comfortable position for him to lean on.
"Xi Xi," Fu Huaijin murmured softly.
"Mm," Su Yuxi replied casually.
"Xi Xi".
"What?"
"Xi Xi"
Su Yuxi didn't respond this time, and rolled her eyes at him in her mind.
"Xi Xi..."
"That woman today..."
Fu Huaijin paused for a moment before continuing, "If you see her in the future, remember to stay as far away as possible. Don't pay attention to her, don't talk to her, and don't greet her, understand?"
"Why? Isn't she your mother?" Su Yuxi asked, puzzled. In her mind, weren't parents supposed to be revered and respected? Why did so many people dislike this woman after she appeared?
"Did she do something wrong to make you angry?"
Fu Huaijin's breathing became heavier, his chest heaving with each surge of emotion. He held the person in his arms tighter, his hoarse voice filled with barely suppressed emotion: "Don't ask."
"Okay, okay, I won't ask." Su Yuxi stopped talking and gently stroked his back with her soft little hands, like she was coaxing a child. Although she didn't know anything, she could feel that he was tightly wrapped in pain and torment. All she could do was stay by his side silently.
After returning to the villa, Fu Huaijin told Su Yuxi to go back to sleep, as he was going out for a while.
Seeing his expression, Su Yuxi was worried about him going out alone and offered to go with him, but was refused for the first time.
After everyone left, Su Yuxi tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep. She finally drifted off to sleep just before dawn, and when she woke up, Fu Huaijin was not there beside her.
She immediately called, but no one answered.
I became even more worried.
I thought he would come back in the afternoon, but I waited for several days and he still didn't come back.
When she asked Chu Juan, he only said that he was taking care of something and told her not to worry.
Today marks the seventh day since Fu Huaijin disappeared. Early this morning, instead of receiving any news from Fu Huaijin, she received a lawyer's letter.
It was sent by Lu Yunzhou.
