Chapter 12 I Became a Beast God in the Beast World 2
The Snow Rabbit tribe was even more rudimentary than Zhou Jue had imagined.
Dozens of simple houses built of animal hides and wood were scattered haphazardly, and the entire tribe was shrouded in a sickly atmosphere.
"Little White is back!" A middle-aged orc strode over.
He had gray hair and rabbit ears, a thin build, and a haggard face. He was clearly taken aback when he saw Zhou Jue next to Xiao Bai.
"Uncle, this is the Beast God's Messenger!" Little White excitedly introduced, "She saved me and is even willing to help our tribe!"
"The Beast God's Messenger?" The middle-aged orc's eyes widened. "You...you really are the Beast God's Messenger?"
Zhou Jue nodded: "I am an envoy sent by the Beast God. I heard that your tribe is facing difficulties."
"That's wonderful!" The middle-aged orc was so excited that tears welled up in his eyes. "The Beast God has not abandoned us! Please come with me quickly. The chieftain is seriously ill and may... may not be able to hold on for much longer."
Zhou Jue followed the middle-aged orc to the largest house in the center of the tribe.
The room was dimly lit, and an elderly rabbit-beastman lay on a bed made of animal hides, breathing weakly.
"Grandpa Chieftain, the Beast God's Messenger has arrived!" Little White ran to the bedside and shouted.
The old patriarch slowly opened his eyes, and a glint of light flashed in them when he saw Zhou Jue.
“My Lord, you have finally arrived…” the old patriarch said with all his might.
Zhou Jue walked to the bedside and observed the old patriarch's symptoms. Fever, cough, and difficulty breathing—it looked like pneumonia.
"Brother Tongzi, can you detect his condition?"
"Test complete. The patient has bacterial pneumonia and requires antibiotic treatment."
Zhou Jue took out a medical kit from the Starry Sky Box, along with a stethoscope and a thermometer.
"Let me check on the clan chief first."
The appearance of these modern medical devices stunned the beastmen present.
"Is this a divine artifact?" someone asked in a low voice.
“Of course they are divine artifacts.” Zhou Jue said while inspecting them, “These were all bestowed by the Beast God.”
After the perfunctory examination was completed, Zhou Jue confirmed the diagnosis.
“The chieftain has pneumonia and needs medication,” she said, taking out antibiotics and fever reducers that had been removed from their packaging. “These medications should be taken three times a day for seven consecutive days.”
"Can it really be cured?" the middle-aged orc asked nervously.
"Don't worry, the Beast God's divine medicine will definitely cure the clan leader."
Zhou Jue fed the old chieftain his medicine and said, "Tell me about the specific situation of your tribe."
"My name is Grey Ear, and I am an elder of the tribe." The middle-aged orc introduced himself: "Our Snow Rabbit tribe originally lived at the foot of the snow-capped mountains in the north, but we were driven out by the Iron Claw Wolf tribe."
"The Ironclaw Wolf Tribe?"
“Yes, they are one of the most powerful tribes in this forest, with more than three hundred warriors.” Gray Ear smiled bitterly: “Our Snow Rabbit tribe is weak by nature and is no match for them at all.”
What about the other tribes?
"There are four tribes in this forest: the Ironclaw Wolves in the north, the Giant Lions in the east, the Ironwall Apes in the south, and the Red Monkeys in the west."
"The Ironwall Apes and Red Monkeys have been allied for generations; the Giant Lions live in one place and rarely come out unless you enter their territory; the Ironclaw Wolf tribe has been expanding its territory, so we have been driven out; in addition to the four major tribes, there are some small tribes like us."
"Can't you attach yourselves to their tribe?" Since tribes can form alliances, there's no reason why you can't attach yourselves to them.
“Only the Ironclaw Wolf Tribe accepts the vassalage of other tribes, but they only accept powerful medium and small tribes, such as the Hyena Tribe and the Iron Rhinoceros Tribe... Our Snow Rabbit Tribe is too weak, and the Ironclaw Wolf Tribe looks down on us..." Gray Ears blushed as he finished speaking.
Zhou Jue roughly understood: "So what difficulties are you facing now?"
“Food is scarce, we don’t have a fixed hunting ground, and the cold season is coming soon. If we don’t have enough food, it will be hard to survive.” Grey Ears sighed, “And recently, for some reason, many of our people have fallen ill.”
Zhou Jue nodded: "We'll talk about the food issue later. I need to deal with the illness first."
She went out of the house and said to Greyear, "Call all the sick members of the tribe here."
Greyear excitedly shouted to the tribesmen gathered outside, "All sick tribesmen, come here! The divine messenger will heal you!"
"Your Excellency, the Divine Envoy?"
"The Beast God has not abandoned us!"
"The messenger of the gods has come to save us!" Upon hearing Gray Ear's shout, the people still in the tribe erupted in excitement and rushed over.
Soon, a dozen or so patients lined up.
There were all sorts of ailments, including fever, cough, diarrhea, and infections from injuries.
Zhou Jue carefully examined each patient and then administered medication accordingly.
"This is for runny nose, take this."
"This is for diarrhea. Remember to drink plenty of water after taking it."
"Your wound is infected. Let me clean and disinfect it for you."
After working for two whole hours, Zhou Jue finally treated all the patients.
"Alright, everyone take your medicine on time, and you'll feel better in three days."
Looking at the miraculous medicine in their hands, the tribespeople all showed expressions of admiration.
"The Beast God's Messenger is truly amazing!"
"We're saved!"
"May the Beast God protect you!"
Looking at the expectant eyes of his clansmen, Zhou Jue felt a surge of responsibility.
“Starting today, I’m going to teach you about herbs,” she announced loudly. “That way, if you get sick in the future, you won’t have to wait to die.”
"Really?" Grey Ear asked excitedly.
“Of course.” Zhou Jue nodded: “The Beast God sent me here so that you could have a better life.”
"Great!" the tribespeople cheered.
"Elder Greyear, please find some clever orcs to come over. I'll take them to look for herbs around the tribe. Also, tell the orcs we sent out to hunt or gather fruit to pick up any plants they see along the way. I'll see if they're of any use."
"Okay! Okay! Okay, I'll go arrange it right away!"
A moment later, Grayear returned with nine orcs: "My lord, these nine are usually the most clever. Please teach them about herbs first. If they have a talent for them, you can keep them. If they can't remember them, let them do something else..."
Grey Ear paused for a moment, then pulled out three people from the group of nine and continued, “Don’t go far. Stay near the tribe. These three are warriors of the tribe. If you encounter any danger, have them protect you and bring you back.”
Zhou Jue looked at the three people.
The tall, muscular one spoke first: "My lord, my name is Shorttail. I will protect you." He then grinned, looking a bit silly.
“My lord, my name is Long-Eared, and I will protect you as well,” a strong, gray-haired youth said.
“My lord, my name is Giant Tooth. My teeth are exceptionally sharp and can hold onto my prey tightly, allowing you to run ahead.”
Zhou Jue looked at the young man whose two large front teeth flashed when he spoke and couldn't help but chuckle: "Thank you, I'll protect you too! Let's go then~"
"Go go go~ Let's go~"
