Chapter 13 I Became a Beast God in the Beast World 3

Chapter 13 I Became a Beast God in the Beast World 3

Zhou Jue led nine rabbit-beastmen out of the tribe and began their first herb-gathering lesson.

“Look everyone, this is crescent grass.” Zhou Jue squatted down next to a silvery-white herb: “Its leaves are crescent-shaped, and it is mainly used to treat coughs and fever.”

“My Lord, I’ve eaten this before!” Little White excitedly raised his hand: “It’s sweet, but I didn’t know it could cure diseases.”

"Since you've eaten it, there's no reason you wouldn't know its effects." Zhou Jue was a little puzzled. If you eat it often, you should be able to discover its effects, right?

"It's sweet, but it's not filling, so I only come here occasionally for a bite."

"Yes, Your Excellency, our tribe has difficulty surviving, so we usually only collect a little when the female is pregnant, to prepare for the female and the cub. Otherwise, we gather fruit and hunt."

Zhou Jue understood. According to Maslow's hierarchy of needs, when physiological needs cannot be met, humans...and animals cannot consider other needs either.

She nodded: "Then remember this, from now on, if anyone in the tribe has a cough or fever, use this crescent grass."

"Go and collect this first, and I'll teach you how to process it when we get back to the tribe." After saying that, he told the rabbit beastmen to scatter, and Zhou Jue began to collect it frantically.

"Brother Tongzi, collect, collect, collect..." Zhou Jue wasn't worried about what the other beastmen would think when they saw her things disappear. She had already fabricated such a high-class identity, so it was normal for her to have some 'divine power', right?

"My Lord, we've finished collecting all the crescent grass here." Little White came over excitedly. Zhou Jue looked at the pile of crescent grass on the ground and the ones that each orc was holding, and felt a bit of a headache.

No, let's look for some vine-like plants later and teach them how to weave baskets when we get back tonight.

"Put all the crescent grass down, I'll put it away first." The rabbit-beastmen obediently put the crescent grass together, and watched as Zhou Jue waved his hand and made everything disappear. Their admiration for the divine messenger grew even stronger.

“My Lord, there’s a patch of amethyst flowers ahead. They’re neither tasty nor poisonous. Would you like to see if they’ll be of any use?” A rabbit-beast girl named Luo Ying asked, her eyes shining.

After Zhou Jue stepped forward and had the system detect it, he said, "This amethyst flower is useful; it can treat diarrhea. You can collect it just like before."

She explained as she gathered the herbs, and the nine rabbit-beastmen gathered and memorized them. Some drew the shapes of the herbs on the ground with twigs, while others repeatedly recited their names and effects.

After collecting all the plants in this area, Zhou Jue asked the rabbit-beastman, "Are there any vine-like plants around here?"

"My lord, there is a patch of golden vines ahead. They are bitter and very difficult to chew. Only my giant tooth can easily bite them through." The giant tooth leaned over and pointed to its large tooth, somewhat proudly.

"Let's go take a look."

The group headed straight for the Golden Leaf Vine, which grew beside the river and was covered in small purple flowers.

"Brother Tong, start the test!"

"Unknown plant sample detected, analyzing..."

Golden Leaf Vine

Energy value: 0.5%

[Characteristics: The leaves can stop bleeding; the golden vine flowers can reduce inflammation]

[Note: Mass collection is recommended]

Zhou Jue reached out and tugged at it. The vine was quite resilient and should be able to be used to weave a basket. So he turned to the beasts and said, "This golden vine will be very useful."

"The leaves on top can stop bleeding. If you get injured while hunting, you can collect the leaves, crush them, and apply them to the wound."

"Golden vine flowers can reduce inflammation...that is, prevent fever caused by injury. They can be applied to wounds or eaten directly."

"Really? My lord, if we can stop the bleeding, our warriors will be much safer going out." Short-tailed said in disbelief.

"Of course it's true, everything the Divine Envoy said is true." Before Zhou Jue could reply, Xiao Bai wouldn't allow anyone to question the Divine Envoy.

“It’s true. Try digging it out of the ground intact, without tearing it off. Keep all the little flowers and leaves on it, and the vines will be very useful when you take them back.” Zhou Jue thought to himself, rabbits are good at digging burrows, so digging it out by the roots shouldn’t be a problem.

Seeing the beasts getting busy, Zhou Jue also took out his Boundary-Breaking Shovel and began collecting. As he dug, he discovered several special plants on the back of the Golden Leaf Vine.

With its small red berries and green leaves, it looks just like a chili pepper from Earth.

"Is this a mutated chili pepper?" Zhou Jue walked over excitedly.

"Divine Envoy, don't touch it!" Luo Ying hurriedly stopped her: "This is poisonous!"

"Poisonous?" Zhou Jue asked, puzzled.

“Yes, some members of our tribe ate it before, and their stomachs ached all day.” Luo Ying said nervously, “The chief said it was a poisonous fruit from the forest.”

Zhou Jue observed carefully and then asked the system, confirming that it was indeed a chili pepper: "Luo Ying, when you said your stomach hurt, did your mouth also hurt? Like it was on fire?"

"Yes, yes, yes!" Luo Ying nodded repeatedly, "That's exactly the feeling!"

“That’s not poison, it’s spicy.” Zhou Jue laughed: “This is called spicy fruit. It does cause pain, but it’s actually a good thing.”

"Good stuff?" All the rabbit-beastmen widened their eyes.

“Yes, it can make food taste better and keep you warm.” Zhou Jue began collecting the ingredients: “The key is to know how to use it.”

"My Lord, are you sure everything will be alright?" Short Tail asked worriedly.

"No, I promise." Zhou Jue put the few remaining spicy fruits into the Starry Secret Box: "I'll teach you how to use them when we get back."

Over the next few days, Zhou Jue discovered several more useful plants. Some could supplement vitamins, some could relieve pain, and there was even an itchy herb.

"My Lord, you are amazing!" Little White exclaimed. "We see these herbs every day, yet they are all treasures."

"The Beast God has bestowed power upon you," Zhou Jue said with a smile. "You must study hard, so that you too can become shamans of the tribe in the future."

Just as everyone was enthusiastically collecting the materials, Long Ears suddenly looked up at the sky.

“My Lord, it’s getting dark.” Long Ears pointed to the sun in the west: “We should go back.”

"Why?" Zhou Jue asked, puzzled.

"The forest is dangerous at night; nocturnal beasts roam there," Shorttail explained. "Our Snow Rabbit tribe is defenseless at night."

Zhou Jue glanced at the sky; it was indeed starting to get dark. "Then let's call it a day and head back."

After the group finished collecting the herbs, Zhou Jue put them away and they started heading towards the tribe.

"My Lord, today was fantastic!" Little White exclaimed excitedly. "I learned so much!"

“Yes, we won’t be afraid of getting sick anymore.” Luo Ying was also very happy.

Looking at these innocent rabbit-beastmen, Zhou Jue felt a surge of warmth in her heart. Although this was just a mission world, she genuinely wanted to help these kind-hearted beings.

The group walked towards the tribe, and Zhou Jue answered everyone's questions as they went. As they got closer, they could hear faint laughter and cheerful voices.

"What's all this commotion about?" Zhou Jue quickened his pace unconsciously.
