Chapter Sixty: The Kind-hearted Take-In Resident

As for the rest, Su Zhou didn't listen to anything else. Her mind was only filled with one dizzy thought: she was already worried about how to get more animals. At present, it seemed that the only way to increase the number of animals in the zoo was to purchase them from the system. She didn't expect that in addition to getting a golden eagle, she would also have such a good thing.

Su Zhou snapped out of her daze and quickly nodded: "Yes, yes, our zoo treats the animals very well, and everything is done with the animals in mind. Um, I wanted to ask... what kind of animals were discovered over there? Could you tell me about them?"

"We have a tiger cub, an Asian elephant calf, and a few golden monkeys. If you'd like to raise them, we can send them over sometime."

"Yes, yes, thank you."

Why would you refuse an animal that's been delivered to your door? Su Zhou nodded hastily, and the two of them arranged a time for the animal to be delivered.

Su Zhou has always liked elephants. She feels that these animals have an innate gentleness. The white elephants she sees on TV are sacred and elegant, as if they are born with a religious aura.

After the zoo closed for the night, several police cars appeared at the entrance. Su Zhou walked over, and the other zoo employees followed behind; they also wanted to see what was going on, so they came along on their own initiative.

"Director Su, do you think these animals can be treated? They all look rather unwell." Su Zhou stepped forward and saw several cages in the trunk of the police car. The animals had traveled a long distance and didn't look well. The lemurs, in particular, were in worse condition, drooping their tails and lying listlessly in their cages.

The police officers were furious when the poachers were mentioned: "There were fox pelts that had been completely stripped off, as well as cut ivory and shark specimens in that villa. It was inhumane. These captive animals were originally intended to be sold. Rich people like to keep them."

"It's alright. Our zoo has good feng shui and good conditions. It's probably just a bit frightened, and those people don't take good care of it, so it looks a little listless. But it's fine, it'll be fine after a few days here." Su Zhou told the others to take the animals into the zoo and let them temporarily put the animals in the storage room.

The vacant storage room is less for storing miscellaneous items and more for serving as a dedicated animal transit station. Animals that don't yet have their own enclosures are temporarily housed here, and once Su Zhou has saved enough money, these animals will be sent out.

The storage room looked very clean and was kept in a very tidy manner.

The incandescent bulb cast a silvery light, and the animals were temporarily housed here.

[Motion sickness, motion sickness, motion sickness, especially motion sickness! Those damn poachers are something else! I'm a protected animal, how come they won't even give me a decent meal? What stingy people!]

The sentence contained several swear words, and the voice sounded particularly childish. Su Zhou held her breath and focused her gaze on the little tiger.

This tiger is pure white, a variant of the Bengal tiger. Its black and white stripes make its adorable face especially cute. This cub is very young, not very big at all, but it can utter several swear words in one sentence.

Look at your mother's ass!

Another heartfelt sentiment.

Su Zhou: ...

Tigers living in the forest would never have the opportunity to learn these things. The only possibility is that the poachers in that villa said these words to the tiger more than once, and thus the tiger cub learned human swear words.

Song Xinran followed Su Zhou's gaze and saw that she was staring at the little tiger, which she understood perfectly.

The little tiger looked exactly like a golden shaded tabby, showing no signs of aggression; even its yawns only made it seem adorable. Humans are irresistibly drawn to felines; it's practically ingrained in our genes. Even during her undergraduate years, she rarely met anyone who seemed afraid of cats.

"You all go back and rest now, you've all had a long day. Leave the rest to me." Su Zhou smiled slightly. She couldn't very well say that she was standing there stunned because of the little tiger's swear words.

The zoo was very busy today, and everyone was indeed tired. After listening to Su Zhou's words, they all left.

After everyone had left, the little tiger let out a fierce, cute roar.

But it couldn't even stand up straight and fell right back into the cage with a thud.

In Su Zhou's eyes, it was as if a cute little child smoking had appeared before her. She walked up to the white tiger cub, took a piece of meat, and fed it: "Little tiger, you can't swear, do you hear me!"

The tiger cub opened its mouth to bite, but Su Zhou quickly moved the meat away, and the tiger missed its target.

Needless to say, the feed produced by the system was practically torture for a tiger that had been starving for so long. Just smelling it made its mouth water, and glistening saliva dripped from its lips.

The little white tiger struggled to react, realizing that the person in front of it seemed to understand it.

“If you behave well, you can eat meat like this every day. You have a senior who also got a permanent position by being shameless. It’s not easy to get into our zoo, you know? A little tiger like you who swears all the time, no other place would want you.” Su Zhou used manipulative tactics. The naive little tiger was confused and felt that something was wrong, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. He could only smell the rich aroma of meat.

Its gaze shifted accordingly, eagerly hoping the meat would fall into its mouth.

"I'll take you to find it now." Su Zhou carefully took the tiger out of the cage. The little white tiger had a lingering fishy smell. It had been kept in an iron cage for a long time, and the poachers had never thought to deal with its excrement, so the smell was quite unpleasant.

Fortunately, the tiger enclosure has water taps, so taking a shower is very convenient.

Su Zhou held the tiny bundle in her arms. The white tiger cub had a large frame and its paws were a bit dirty. In a short time, countless curses swirled around it. The little tiger was still a bit emotionally unstable and couldn't really listen to Su Zhou's words.

Even so, it can't be left to starve forever.

Su Zhou casually stuffed a piece of meat into its mouth, but unexpectedly, even eating meat couldn't shut its incessant chatter.

[Damn, I'm scared.]

[Waaah, what a terrifying woman! More terrifying than those poachers. I want to go home to my mother, but she's already dead.]

The mutated white tiger has a slightly weaker ability to survive in the wild. Su Zhou listened to the little white tiger's inner thoughts and realized that the mother tiger had most likely died at the hands of poachers, right in front of the little tiger.

With a heavy heart, she gently patted the little white tiger's head and said, "From now on, you can treat this place as your home."
