Chapter 447 Out with the old, in with the new

"Ma Mei, where's Ma Mei?!"

Upon arriving home, Ma Facai remembered his plan to settle accounts with Ma Mei. His parents, after being reminded, also recalled the matter.

"Ma Mei, you shameless slut, come out here! I'll break your legs! Can't stand seeing your family doing well? Your brother finally got a wife, and you still want..."

"Mom, shut up, can you please stop cursing?"

Seeing that Ma's mother was about to throw a tantrum again, Ma Facai quickly stopped her.

Things are different now. In the past, when Ma Mei was scolded by her mother, which attracted bystanders to come and chop her up, Ma Facai would have been gloating and watching the show.

After all, people who don't listen should be taught a lesson, and Ma Mei, as his money bag, should obediently work for him.

Things are different now. He's a genius. How can rude words be spoken in the home of a genius? If others see this and make a scene, his reputation will be ruined, and people will be jealous and try to destroy him.

"Son, Mother..."

Caught off guard by the sudden shout, Ma's mother felt bewildered and confused; she didn't know what she had done wrong.

"Alright, alright, all you do is yell and curse all day. Don't you know you shouldn't wash your dirty linen in public?"

If it weren't for the fact that his hand wasn't fully healed, Ma Facai would have directly told his mother that she was a disgrace. But considering his own situation, Ma Facai held back.

"Son, yes, you're right, it was your mother who was wrong."

I don't understand why, but years of ingrained habits made Ma's mother subconsciously admit her mistake.

Ma Facai turned away impatiently, not wanting to face his parents.

"Let's go."

With a cold snort, Ma Facai pushed open the door first, but as soon as he saw the marks on the floor, a bad premonition shot through his heart.

Following the trail forward, all the way to the end of the alley,

"Son, what's wrong? Open the door!"

Ma's mother spoke cautiously behind Ma Facai, but her attempt to come up with a plan was immediately thwarted.

"You drive."

When his temper flared, Ma Facai immediately stepped aside, letting his mother open the door, while he continued to stare at the long marks on the ground.

It looked like it was pulled out by something; their house was at the end of the road.

Seeing the seriousness on Ma Facai's face, Ma's mother reluctantly pushed open the door. It opened easily, and Ma's mother sensed something was wrong.

Wasn't the door locked properly when I left?

How did it open without a key? Oh right, that brat Ma Mei has a key.

The next second, Ma's mother stood there stunned. If she wasn't mistaken, she saw her and Ma's father's room; the locks on Ma Facai's room door were all broken.

The yard was filled with axes, smooth and shiny, their frequently used parts gleaming.

All signs indicated that their house had been burgled, and the thief appeared to be an inside man.

"Get out of the way."

Before Ma's mother could react, Ma Facai shoved her aside, opened the door but wouldn't go in; what was she doing blocking the door?

At first glance, Ma Facai was even more shocked than his mother.

He rushed to his room, his hurried steps revealing that Ma Facai was not at peace.

His room door is broken. If the door is broken, how can the things inside possibly be okay?

The door opened, revealing a scene of utter chaos, worse than he had imagined. All the clothes and shoes he hadn't wanted to wear were gone.

His bed was gone; it had been chopped up with an axe, and there wasn't a single intact spot in the room.

Feeling dizzy, Ma Facai was struggling to cope with the blow.

If his room was like this, it couldn't possibly be any better for Ma's parents, but there are exceptions!

A glimmer of hope rose in Ma Facai's heart, and he looked at his parents.

"Father, Mother, go and see your room."

It's alright, it's alright. As long as Mr. and Mrs. Ma's room is still intact, as long as the money is still there, he will still get what he wants.

"well."

As she spoke, Ma's mother ran towards her room; she was also quite frightened.

As soon as she reached the door, peeking through the hole in the door into the room, Ma's mother already knew the outcome without even going inside.

“My son, it’s all gone, everything is gone. That damned Ma Mei, I’m going to kill her.”

He swung the axe from the center of the yard toward the woodshed where Ma Mei lived.

With a loud bang, Ma Mei kicked the door open.

"Ma Mei, you come out here right now."

The wind swept into the room and then quietly left; the room was empty, and Ma's mother hadn't seen a single person.

"Ma Mei, stop hiding! I've seen you, you damned jinx!"

The axe chopped haphazardly in the woodpile, but even at the very end, Ma's mother couldn't find Ma Mei.

With a clang, the axe slipped from Ma's hand.

The person was gone, which meant everything was gone too. The mother horse couldn't accept it.

How did Ma Mei discover the things she had hidden for half her life? Another object slipped from her bosom, fell to the ground, and hit the axe.

The two objects collided, producing a piercing sound that jolted the mother horse awake.

Looking down at the dark, indistinct ball, Ma Mu's hope rekindled. It's alright, out with the old, in with the new; Ma Mei took what they had used.

Compared to gold, that little bit is nothing.

Thinking this in her heart, but still looking pained, Ma's mother picked up the dark ball and axe from the ground and took them out of the woodshed.

"Where is Ma Mei? Where did Ma Mei go?"

There was nowhere to step inside the room, so Ma's father and Ma Facai could only come out to the yard, where they saw Ma's mother going crazy in the woodshed.

Neither of them intended to help. In their hearts, Ma Mei was just a little girl; where else could she go if she left?

How will Mame live without them?

Based on this idea, Ma's father and Ma Facai stood motionless in the yard, waiting for Ma's mother to bring Ma Mei out.
