Chapter 92 is a bit strange.

Chapter 92 is a bit strange.

On the other side, the ceremony had ended. Chen Jinghe reorganized the group, and he and Zhang Cheng descended the mountain according to their original positions.

I didn't see Duan Gan. I asked around, but no one knew. I figured he might have left on his own.

But it's a bit strange that we didn't see Fourth Master acting normally, but Tao Tao, that young lady, wasn't there.

She was in charge of organizing the funeral. How could she just disappear halfway through?

"Boss? Boss, where are you?"

There were too many people, densely packed together, and it was noisy. Yu Shan and Yu He searched for a long time but couldn't find their boss. They had no choice but to shout loudly.

As a result, after calling her for most of the day, until his voice was hoarse, he still didn't get a response.

As Yu Shan was searching, he happened to pass by Chen Jinghe, who suddenly grabbed him. Yu Shan thought he was his boss and turned around excitedly, calling out, "Boss!"

Turning around, she realized it wasn't Tao Tao and immediately felt disappointed.

Chen Jinghe frowned and asked, "Where is your boss, Tao?"

"I don't know either, I've been looking for it."

"Didn't she tell you where she was going?"

Yu Shan shook his head, looking somewhat worried: "No, I saw her standing there with someone wearing a cloak earlier, but I haven't seen her since."

"That person looked a bit strange. Could it be that he took the boss away?"

At this moment, Zhang Cheng walked over and asked in confusion, "What's wrong? Aren't you leaving?"

Thinking of Fourth Master, Chen Jinghe wondered if Fourth Master and Tao Tao had left together...

That should be the case, otherwise how could the two of them disappear at the same time?

"Let's go, let's go down the mountain now."

After Chen Jinghe finished speaking, he turned and walked down the mountain.

Yu Shan was puzzled and quickly ran over to stop him: "Lord Chen, my boss hasn't been found yet, we can't go back like this."

He looked up at the boy in front of him and said, "Don't worry, your boss Tao is fine, he's doing great."

Yu Shan said happily, "Do you know where my boss went?"

"I don't know, but your boss is definitely fine."

With her shrewdness, even the Fourth Master was almost subdued by her; who could possibly do anything to her?

Chen Jinghe bypassed him and continued forward.

Yu Shan was puzzled by these words. Chen Jinghe didn't know where Tao Tao had gone, but he knew she would be alright. Could it be that he knew that strange person?

Seeing that his brother was standing in front of him without moving, Yu He walked over.

"Brother, what's wrong? Did you find Boss Tao?"

Yu Shan did not answer, but turned to look at the longevity paper covering the mountainside and the white banners fluttering in the wind.

Tick-tock...

Suddenly, rain began to fall from the sky.

"Brother, did Boss Tao have to leave early?"

Seeing that he didn't react, Yu He looked up at the dark sky and continued, "Besides, it's raining now, are we still going to look for it?"

Lord Chen and Boss Tao are old acquaintances. If he can say that, then the boss must be fine.

Thinking this to himself, Yu Shan watched the group gradually disappear into the distance, suppressing his worry, and said, "Let's go, let's go back first."

………

As dawn broke, the first rays of sunlight refracted through the gaps in the clouds and fell upon the ground.

The fire that burned last night has gone out and turned into ashes.

The man, nestled in the girl's arms, fluttered his eyelashes, his fingertips, held by her, trembled slightly, and he felt the unfamiliar breath on his face.

Suddenly, he opened his eyes wide, his sharp features scanning his surroundings.

Suddenly, he looked up and gazed at her face, which was only an inch above him. She lowered her head and closed her eyes tightly. Soft breathing escaped from her moving lips, and sharp teeth were faintly visible.

My soft, warm chest rose and fell, and I could clearly hear my heart beating.

For some reason, he felt a little nostalgic for the feeling he had at that moment.

After a moment of silence, he came to his senses, shook his dizzy head, and silently got up, supporting himself with his large hands on the ground.

The two leaned on each other. Duan Gan stood up, and Tao Tao was bound to fall forward.

The moment she fell, he quickly reached out and caught her, resting her against his shoulder before gently placing her on the soft hay.

The movement was so quiet that it didn't disturb her at all.

Duan Gan aggravated the injury on his right shoulder, but only frowned slightly before walking outside.

It had rained all night, and the forest was covered in dew. The calls of kingfishers could be heard in the distance. Despite the beautiful scenery, the mountain path was muddy, slippery, and intricate, making it difficult to walk.

He looked up at the sun above the trees, then at the shadows cast on the ground, mentally estimating the time and his location.

"Duan Gan?! Duan Gan?!"

He heard Tao Tao's panicked cries from inside, and he immediately turned back, bumping into her as she ran out.

Tao Tao breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing him and quickly went to check on his condition.

"You scared me to death! I thought you'd been carried off by a wolf."

Words of concern flowed naturally from her lips, her eyes, as clear as autumn water, filled with worry and care for him.

He feigned composure and said, "I'm fine. The rain has stopped outside. Let's go back."

Unbeknownst to her, the tips of her ears, hidden beneath her dark hair, blushed.

She saw that he had long hair loose and thought that she might have accidentally dropped it last night, so she turned around and went back to look for the hairpin he had left behind.

They found the brown jade hairpin with the lotus flower in the straw.

"Do you want your hair styled?"

She handed the jade hairpin to him and pointed to his long hair that fell over his shoulders.

He looked down, seemingly lost in thought, and nodded when he looked up at her.

Then he returned to the haystack and sat down cross-legged, seemingly waiting for something. After a while, he suddenly turned to look at her, his eyes filled with a hint of confusion.

Tao Tao finally realized what was happening. She hesitated for a moment, then walked over without saying anything.

She walked behind him, used her hand as a comb to smooth her slightly messy hair, the cool, dark hair flowing smoothly across the back of her hand like water.

After a long pause, she said, "That's it."

He looked up at her, the coldness in his eyes melting away, his gaze softening, and the corners of his lips curving upwards slightly.

Their eyes met, and she was stunned for a moment. Suddenly, she felt that he seemed a little different from before, as if he had become much gentler.

She shook her head, trying to dispel the sudden illusion.

The two walked out side by side.

Tao Tao thought of the mass grave from last night and said, "Last night we rolled down from the top. Could this be the bottom of the mountain? But when I came here before, I didn't see that mass grave full of bones."

"Judging from the bones I touched, they're at least a dozen years old. Could it be another mass grave?"

Upon hearing this, Duan Gan's expression changed, and he said coldly, "That was the place where the entire Yang family was buried fifteen years ago."

"The Yang family?"

She looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"Let's go."

He offered no explanation and continued walking forward.

Although she was confused, she could tell that something was wrong, so she didn't ask any further questions.

She followed behind him, thinking about the dead baby in the carriage last night, wondering if they would find out.
