Chapter Fifty-Nine: The Potion of Regret

Arthur Cold Jade sat down by the lake again, picked up his fishing rod, baited it, and cast it in one smooth motion.

You absolutely couldn't swing the rod so skillfully without practicing hundreds of times.

Li Aili exclaimed in surprise, "Oh, you like fishing so much? Haven't you had enough yet?"

Arthur stared at the float. "No, I'm going to catch that 0.1 or 0.2 pound."

Li Aili: "..."

She asked with a headache, "Aren't elves vegetarians?"

"What should we do with all these fish? They're all dead, and we can't just put them back. It would be such a waste."

"Send it outside the forest and let the knights roast it; they can eat as much as they want," Arthur said calmly.

Perfect timing! The elves are providing only vegetarian food, and the carnivorous knights have already had a meal of 'grass.' Now, many of them are turning green at the thought of having to continue for the next three days.

At dinner time, the elves of Tankar brought four large carts of fresh dead fish for the knights.

Everyone was overjoyed.

Suddenly, the area outside the Tankar Forest was filled with the aroma of grilled fish.

Before dinner, Li Aili and Arthur, led by the elven governor, toured the Great Tree Royal Court.

“Our residential areas are divided into three tiers: upper, middle, and lower,” the governor explained.

Li Aili immediately raised her hand and answered, "I know! I know this!"

Based on her recent cramming, some of it actually involves the lifestyle habits of the elves.

"Do pure-blooded elves live at the top, ordinary elves in the middle, and mixed-blood elves at the bottom?"

The governor is a rigid wood elf. Although he has long, straight, golden hair, his high hairline detracts from his appearance.

The governor adjusted his glasses. "You're referring to other elves. It's not like that among the Tankar elves."

The governor pointed to the canopy area near the Elf King's residence, "To live there, you'll need at least 10 million gold coins."

"Atrium 5 million."

"1.5 million in court."

"For example, as the Grand Consul, my weekly salary is 76 gold coins."

"If I want to buy a studio apartment in Upper Court, I would have to work for at least 131,578 weeks without eating or drinking."

Li Aili: "..."

The governor adjusted his glasses. "At that moment, I felt very fortunate to be an immortal being. I should be able to live there in my lifetime."

"Oh, and there are canopy villas, those are the residential areas for the super-rich."

Li Aili: "……………………"

The consul turned around and continued to lead the two men.

"Do you think the Tankar elves are mercenary?" the elven governor walking ahead suddenly asked.

Li Aili was still counting on her fingers, figuring out how many years it would take for this poor governor to live in the upper district.

The governor said calmly, "You probably can't tell that I am a half-elf. My mother is a water sprite."

Li Aili: "..." Why are you elves picking a fight with fairies?

"If I were in another elven race, I would spend my whole life living on the lowest level of the elven tree, doing the most tiring work, and being discriminated against and isolated."

"There is absolutely no chance of becoming a consul and serving the king."

He stopped walking after he finished speaking.

"We've arrived. This is the accommodation His Majesty has prepared for you two. I hope you will like it."

Because of nepotism, Li Aili and Arthur stayed at a luxury hotel in the upper district.

The enormous fairy tree soared straight into the clouds.

These Tankar elves know how to make money—no, they know how to live.

The hotel lobby features a floor-to-ceiling window, where guests can sit on a hand-woven sofa and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Tankar Forest – a truly beautiful and spectacular sight.
