To celebrate the Emperor's triumphant return, Perkins Palace hosted a night banquet.
When Li Aili went back to her room to change her clothes, she overheard the servants whispering at the corner of the stairs.
"Prince Archil is such a strange child."
Another person said, "Yes, he just asked for a lot of monster blood and raw internal organs from the kitchen."
“If he weren’t a descendant of the Holy Dragon’s bloodline, I would have thought he was researching evil rituals.”
Li Aili coughed lightly, "Ahem."
The three male servants glanced at her in a flustered manner.
Li Aili: "..." You three look familiar.
They hurriedly bowed to Li Aili and ran away in a panic.
Li Aili watched the three figures disappear into the distance with a complicated expression.
A thousand years later, in Constantinople, a small number of the people from this place can be seen.
But we see far fewer of them now.
Conrad is a demon a thousand years later.
But she was quite certain that Conrad was still human at this moment.
What exactly happened during this thousand years?
Li Aili pondered as she walked towards her room.
On the way, she bumped into Archie, who was carrying a bucket of water and walking out.
The little boy was pale, but his lips were unusually red.
He glanced at Li Aili, a slight smile playing on his lips. "Goodnight, Miss Li Aili."
The last look of hatred that Archie gave her at the Dragon Tower was still vivid in her mind.
Li Aili nodded to him, "Your Highness, good night."
After exchanging greetings, Achille carried the wooden bucket down the stairs.
He hummed a song softly, a requiem for the Holy Dragon.
The melody is half longing and mourning, half joy and jubilation, contradictory and eerie.
She glanced at the bucket, which was covered.
But the lid couldn't block out the smell; a strong, pungent odor of blood emanated from the wooden barrel.
Li Aili recalled the conversation with the male servant.
"Your Highness, where are we going?" she asked, almost as if possessed.
Archie paused as he walked down the stairs, turned around, and looked at Ellie with his dark eyes.
He slowly curled the corners of his mouth into a smile, "To play a prank where the Emperor can't see."
After saying that, he picked up the bucket and ran quickly down the stairs until he disappeared.
When Li Aili returned to her room, Catherine had already delivered the dress she would wear to the banquet.
"Thank you," Li Aili said politely.
Catherine stood in the doorway, hesitant to speak. "Um... excuse me, did I do something wrong?"
Li Aili: "...What?"
Catherine lowered her eyes slightly and said with a wronged expression, "It seems like you... don't really like me."
Li Aili: "..." Sister, you've gone against me, it's you who doesn't like me.
But then she thought, that was Catherine from a thousand years in the future.
What does this have to do with the current Catherine?
She should treat the current Catherine as a completely new person, not the Medusa Catherine a thousand years from now.
Li Aili hesitated for a moment, "Do you know how to do makeup?"
Catherine's eyes lit up. "Yes! I'm very good at makeup!"
"Could you please do my makeup?"
Catherine nodded vigorously, "Yes!!"
Then, Li Aili experienced what it meant to 'go too far'.
It's probably because Catherine was too eager to get along with her.
This makeup is so skillful, they really put in a lot of effort!
When Li Aili looked in the mirror, she was shocked by the effect.
That was absolutely beautiful!
She understands the daffodils!
but!
Boss, is it really okay for me to attend the Emperor's banquet like this?!
Won't it steal the show?
Catherine was also stunned, then came to her senses, looked at Li Aili in the mirror, and said with a hint of jealousy:
"You are so beautiful."
"No wonder His Highness Arthur would..."
When Catherine brought the jewelry, Li Aili refused immediately, saying, "No need, this is enough."
Catherine readily agreed and put down the jewelry.
But unable to resist the urge, I used the small white flowers from one of the vases to weave a crescent-shaped wreath.
She placed the flower wreath on Li Aili's head.
Long, smooth, golden hair adorned with a pure white floral crown.
"You are as beautiful as the moon goddess!"
Then, on the way to the banquet hall, Li Aili heard Catherine chattering and praising her appearance.
Until we reached the tightly closed doors of the banquet hall.
Catherine then fell silent, adopting the demeanor of a lady-in-waiting.
"Miss Li Aili has arrived—" the court etiquette officer announced the guest's name.
Then, the banquet doors slowly opened.
The bright lights inside the hall illuminated Li Aili's beautiful face.
In the grand hall filled with the clinking of glasses, countless eyes were fixed on her.
Soon, these people were either mesmerized or gasped in shock...
The emperor, standing in the center of the crowd, cast an inquiring glance at the empress beside him.
The Emperor and Empress looked at their youngest son, whose ears were flushed red, and nodded with a light smile.
The emperor then looked at his eldest son on the other side.
Albert was turning his head to the side, being pulled aside by Victoria, who was wearing a red dress, to talk.
The emperor and empress gave their youngest son a gentle nudge without making a sound.
Arthur belatedly strode toward the main entrance.
Li Aili saw the prince stride up the red carpet and walk towards her.
With his upright posture, he blocked the view from outside.
Arthur solemnly extended his hand to Ellie.
There was a hint of unease in his eyes.
He seemed to be...worried?
At such large banquets, everyone will find a male or female companion.
However, attending a banquet together doesn't necessarily mean anything.
