Chapter Fifty-Three Poisoning

So, Li Aili put her hand on it with peace of mind.

When Ellie's hand rested on Arthur's palm.

Arthur visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

Li Aili asked curiously, "Your Highness is very nervous? What are you worried about?"

Arthur didn't mince words and said frankly, "You're too beautiful, no, too gorgeous. I'm afraid you'll reject me."

These are the simplest words, yet they are also the most beautiful.

Li Aili's cheeks felt slightly warm.

"Come on, I'll introduce you to my father."

Li Aili was also taken aback by 18-year-old Arthur's "frank offensive".

And so she was led to the emperor.

Li Aili, in the late stages of her dress, bowed to the guardian deity of the empire.

"His Majesty."

The Emperor nodded slightly. "No need for formalities, Miss. Please don't be so formal."

He didn't say much; after saying that one sentence, he was immediately entangled in other matters.

He would nod or shake his head whenever someone spoke to him.

The emperor and empress stood quietly beside him, or slowly sipped the wine in their cups.

However, whenever the emperor and empress reached for the desserts served by the servants, the emperor, no matter how busy he was, would always be distracted and stop them.

Li Aili glanced at Arthur with a wistful look, "So, it's hereditary."

Arthur: "?"

"His Highness Archil has arrived—"

The court etiquette official finished speaking.

The doors opened, and Archie, dressed in a pure black suit, entered the hall.

The boy's face was as pale as paper.

He went straight to Prince Alex in the crowd.

This was the first time they had met since the day Archie was carried away.

Previously, the emperor and empress had deliberately kept them apart.

I want us both to calm down.

A waiter walked past Archie and casually picked up two glasses of wine from the tray.

The boy, holding a wine glass, approached Prince Alex. "Uncle, would you accept my apology?"

The bright red liquor was handed to Alex.

The prince took the wine, patted Achille on the shoulder, and gently patted him.

The prince picked up his wine glass and drank it all in one gulp.

His throat bobbed, and the drink went down into his stomach.

The feuds and entanglements among members of the royal family have always been the gossip that nobles love to follow.

Everyone has heard about the entanglement between Duke Archie and Prince Alex on the Dragon Tower.

Seeing this scene, everyone genuinely applauded.

I'm genuinely happy that this uncle and nephew have broken the ice.

Albert frowned as he looked at Archie.

The emperor tilted his head slightly, looking at his eldest son, "Albert, bloodline prevails..."

Before he could finish speaking, there was a 'crack' sound of glass shattering.

The wine glass fell to the ground and shattered.

Prince Alex's mouth was bleeding, and then large gulps of blood gushed out.

He stared in astonishment at his nephew, who was laughing maniacally.

Then, unwillingly, he collapsed...

He didn't close his eyes until he died.
