Chapter Ninety-Nine: A Culinary Baptism

Everyone's head snapped up as the golden light shot into the sky.

"It flew up."

Everyone was stunned, their mouths agape.

"This...this must be a superhuman professional, right?"

“Hmm, it seems to be a knight… right?” another person said uncertainly.

But who would believe it if I told them?

This is a noble knight!

"This... this dish made by the knight using his fried rice skill, will it really cost 5 copper coins?"

In the blink of an eye, the golden light returned, and even ascended at a faster speed than before.

The man lifted the large black pot with one hand and exclaimed, "Hey!"

With a deep roar, he caught the fried rice enveloped in golden light.

With a 'thud,' the chocolate that the little boy had been clutching tightly all the way fell to the ground.

All the children's eyes turned into stars.

Now, even adults can't control their own children.

The children swarmed around the Meteor Fried Rice stall.

'Boss' Warren used a large spatula to scoop the golden fried rice into small wooden bowls, one spoonful at a time.

That fragrance!

The children surrounding the Meteor Fried Rice stall were drooling.

A gentle breeze carries the aroma of fried rice.

The aroma of the fried rice was like a little hook, luring everyone who smelled it. "Wow! That smell!"

"What's this?!"

"I've never smelled such a...unique fragrance before."

Everyone couldn't resist heading to the Meteor Fried Rice stall.

Then, they saw the steaming hot golden fried rice in the small wooden bowl.

What are these little grains?

“This is called rice.” Warren wiped his sweat.

Pour oil into the pan, beat the eggs, and prepare to start frying the second batch.

"What? Rice? I've never heard of that."

Warren muttered to himself, "That's right, you haven't heard of it."

This rice was made by Li Aili using alchemy, transforming a giant potato into bags of rice right before everyone's eyes.

Warren still gets a chill when he thinks about it now.

So-called extraordinary professions can essentially be described as the transfer of energy or the destruction of the form of matter.

But what is alchemy?

To transform one substance into another.

To put it simply, the priests of the major temples would tell the world that this was called 'divine magic'.

"Boss, how much?"

"Five copper coins for a bowl."

Everyone: "!!"

If you can't afford a 2-gold-coin elf white bread, can't you afford a 5-copper-coin fried rice?

"Boss! Give me two bowls, no three!"

"I want four bowls!"

"Leave some room for the people at the back!!"

Warren took the rice out of the steamer and turned it into the pot.

Valen's wife, Rhea, stood beside him, taking money with one hand and handing him food with the other.

"Don't just eat fried rice, there are many other delicious foods at the food festival."

Last night at the tasting event, Rhea thought of all the delicious food she had never seen before and swallowed hard.

Hmm!

She loves sweet and sour pork ribs.

I must make this tonight.

Rhea said that, but the number of people surrounding the Meteor Fried Rice stall did not decrease.

Suddenly, the golden fried rice in the pot 'whooshed' into the air again.

The children screamed excitedly, "Ahhh! Meteor fried rice!!"

The children all imitated Valen's movements, shouting out the name of his ultimate move.

Valen's face turned bright red.

"This! This is called Righteous Punishment! It's a knight's class skill!"

The children's eyes sparkled, "Oh!"

Then, do one more tossing motion in the wok, and it's "Meteor Fried Rice!!!"

Valen: "..."

Just then, the lid of the steamer at the next stall was lifted.

Instantly, a very fresh and fragrant aroma wafted over.

Even though the freshly cooked Meteor Fried Rice smelled amazing, its overpowering aroma managed to carve out its own niche amidst the surrounding fried rice.

"What's that smell?" Many diners followed the smell to the next restaurant.

Only a large group of children remained steadfastly gathered around the Meteor Fried Rice stall.

Steaming hot air rose from the steamer, and plump, translucent shrimp dumplings were served.

"What is this? Glug..." A middle-aged man had just asked the question when a glistening drop of saliva dripped from the corner of his mouth.

Shrimp dumplings.

"Shrimp dumplings...? Why do they smell so good?" his wife asked from the side.

The woman has just learned how to make fried rice.

Although she wasn't a knight and couldn't make fried rice that could reach the heavens, she could still make something decent.

It's that thing called 'rice' that's hard to get.

I don't know if they sell them here.

"Hey, how much is this?"

"Six copper coins for a serving, one dozen shrimp dumplings (12 pieces) per serving."

The woman was displeased.

"The Meteor Fried Rice next door is only 5 copper coins. Yours doesn't look like much fried rice, so why is it so expensive?"

Sofia runs the shrimp dumpling business.

As they were talking, the curtain behind the stall was lifted, and Ben Karsa walked over carrying a large bowl of noodles.

"Sofia, the noodles are ready."

Sophia smiled slyly, "This is my husband, a knight. The dough he made must be worth this much money."

Woman: "..."

"Give me one, this smells so good." The woman's husband had already taken out his money.

Okay~

Sofia skillfully used a small boat folded from green leaves to pick up 12 shrimp dumplings and put them inside.

The man hurriedly took the small boat made of green leaves, and quickly picked up a shrimp dumpling and stuffed it into his mouth.

As a result, he was so burned that he was breathing on it and tears were streaming down his face.
