Chapter Sixteen: You Are a Monster

The Duke's words before he left kept replaying in Li Aili's mind.

She decided to find something to do, so she took out a piece of parchment and began to organize her territory development plan.

【First,】

After writing down "first," Li Aili became so upset that she couldn't continue writing.

I wanted to stay in my room, but...

I have no idea what Harry Clark's taste is, the whole room is decorated in gold tones.

Li Aili felt that her irritability must be because the room was poisonous.

I want to go out for a walk.

So many dead spirits near the palace.

What about other places?

“Fishernki’s concerns about Albert are not unfounded.” Li Aili stood by the window and looked outside.

It was noon, but the sky outside was overcast, as if a torrential downpour could come at any moment.

You can open the window; the air is dry.

Li Aili decided to go to the royal city for a stroll, so she changed into the trousers she wore during her adventures.

Her long, golden hair was casually tied into a neat ponytail, and she took out a low-key black cloak from her spatial ring and walked out of the room.

As she passed the second floor of the villa, she saw male and female servants bustling about.

The servants busied themselves carrying out the garish furnishings, one by one, from Fisher-Nankey's room.

This Elf King truly doesn't compromise himself.

Li Aili glanced at it and continued walking down the stairs.

On the first floor, they bumped into familiar faces, Anne and Lily, who were walking upstairs, lifting their skirts.

Li Aili: "An..."

She only had time to utter one word before Anne and Lily rushed up and grabbed her arms on either side.

Li Aili: "???"

The two ladies pulled Li Aili and led her directly to the carriage at the door.

They blocked the carriage doors from both sides.

With a crack of the whip, the scenery outside the carriage window began to recede into the distance.

"What exactly happened?" Annie, with her quick temper, couldn't help but ask.

Lily looked at Li Aili with concern.

Anne asked, "Do you know that Constantinople is gone?"

Li Aili: "?"

Anne was frantic. "Do you know that the housekeeper in the castle is spreading rumors everywhere?"

Li Aili frowned slightly and asked, "What did you say about me?"

Lily couldn't take it anymore. "She said you thought the Knights were going to lose, so you divorced the Duke and took a lot of gold coins with you..."

Li Aili: "...I am indeed divorced."

Lily covered her mouth in fright.

Li Aili thought for a moment, "But what's wrong with taking the money I earned myself?"

Upon hearing this, Anne was first shocked, then furious, wishing she could turn the carriage around right now and immediately go to the palace to tear the housekeeper apart.

But the carriage soon fell into a deathly silence.

The bubbles above Anne and Lily's heads, one after another, completely revealed their inner thoughts, which were far from the calm they appeared to be.

Fortunately, the carriage stopped in time in front of the tailor shop on the commercial street in the upper district.

The tailor shops here cater exclusively to the high-ranking nobles of the capital.

Annie hurriedly pushed open the car door and got out. "Ellie, quick, this shop is really famous!"

"The clothes at this store are all very beautiful!"

Before they even entered the tailor shop, the door was forcefully pushed open from the inside.

A family of nobles came out from inside.

It was the Marquis of Nice and his family.

Elton Nix walked out of the tailor shop with his wife Alena and son Oscar.

The tailor shop owner even personally escorted the family out.

They were the original owner's father, stepmother, and younger brother who was three years younger than her.

The once arrogant Marquis of Nice turned green the moment he saw Li Aili step down from the carriage.

Unfortunately, the shop owner was so focused on the Marquis's imposing figure that he didn't notice Li Aili and the others at all.

"Your presence truly honors our humble establishment!"

"We have never served a nobleman as great as Your Excellency!"

"Look, your daughter will soon be the queen of this kingdom, and the king will be your legal son, my goodness!"

"Our shop would like to make clothes for your family members for free in the future. Would you consider us honored?"

Li Aili: "…………"

Marquis of Nice: "..."

Today is probably not a good day for Elton Nice, the Marquis of Nice, to go out and have his clothes made.

It's not a good day for bragging and lying without thinking.

Li Aili walked past the family of three, whose figures were frozen like statues, and entered the tailor shop.

Just as Elton breathed a sigh of relief, Li Aili said calmly:

"First, my marriage to the Duke is over."

"Secondly, I have severed ties with you."

"Finally, a word of advice: don't lie like this when you're out and about."

After all, lawyers these days are quite formidable.

Elton Nice was so angry that he almost fainted.

His face flushed red, and his finger trembled as he pointed at Li Aili's back, unable to utter a single word.

A pale-skinned young man stood behind Elton.

At this moment, the way he looked at Li Aili was so hateful that he wanted to devour her alive.

The tailor belatedly realized that his gaze toward the Marquis of Nice and his family had immediately become strange.

Li Aili walked straight past the family blocking the entrance to the tailor shop, pushed open the door, and went inside.

The boss was no longer in the mood to entertain the Marquis of Nice.

He gave a fake smile and didn't mention again that he would take over the Marquis's clothing business.

As Li Aili entered the tailor shop, she heard Elton Nice's vicious curses coming from behind her.

"You're a monster!"

"Do you know you're a monster?!"

"You made my daughter neither male nor female! You're a damn monster!"
