Chapter Twenty: A Bountiful Harvest in the Territory

Upon learning that Li Aili had returned, Thomason, the current 'Agriculture Officer' of the territory and former leader of the Black Street, rushed over.

"Something terrible has happened! Something horrible has occurred!"

Thomason: "Potatoes..."

The potatoes exploded!!!

Li Aili: "..."

She was in a hurry to come back.

She took a deep breath. "Come on! Take me to see this!"

Following Thomason, Li Aili quickly passed through the city gate made of earth elemental piles.

However, the territory was divided into three small areas, and at this moment, a large group of elves was urging a group of goblins to start construction with a lot of clanging and banging.

Li Aili: "..."

Even after she had walked past, she kept turning her head to look at the goblins sweating profusely.

Thomason, who was leading the way, immediately said to Li Aili, "These pointy-eared bastards really know how to make money."

"They immediately subcontracted the project to goblins."

"The goblins only take half the money, but send three times the manpower. They work hard on the dry goods and are not picky about food."

Li Aili: "..."

As they spoke, they arrived at the potato field.

This area has been cordoned off, and a warning sign has been put up that reads "Danger Zone, No Unauthorized Entry".

Next to the wildly growing pumpkin patch, there appeared a lush green potato patch.

Thomason stopped 10 meters away from the potato field.

He trembled as he said, "Hey! Don't get so close! Didn't you see? Last time, so many tin cans were blown up!"

"Is anyone injured?" Li Aili asked worriedly.

Thomason said, "That's alright, it's a tin can after all."

"But how do we fix this? They explode as soon as someone walks over them."

"My God! Those potatoes grow in a long string, and when one is fried, the whole string of them fry too!"

"Luckily it was those iron knights who went up; if it were me, I would have been dead already."

Li Aili: "..."

Upon hearing the news of Li Aili's return, the knights immediately rushed over.

Upon seeing Li Aili, Ben Karsa, the leader, immediately said, "My lord, there is something..."

Li Aili said, "I already know."

This potato mutated into a 'landmine'.

As soon as they feel someone step on their heads, this pile of potatoes will be bombed in a series of explosions.

Although the mutated food is delicious and can help the knights train.

But the essence is still to increase the territory's food reserves.

If we can't come up with a solution, all these potatoes will go to waste.

Li Aili thought for a moment, then looked at the potato field in front of her.

There was a very obvious large pit at the edge of the potato field.

Clearly, that was the 'minefield' the Cavaliers had accidentally stepped into.

Li Aili walked towards that direction.

Back then, they fried them one skewer at a time, but there were no potatoes left there, so it's now considered a safe zone.

But Ben Karsa was still worried and stopped her, saying, "Madam! Danger!"

They strung a rope around the potato field as a 'warning line'.

Li Aili crouched down outside the cordon and carefully examined the huge crater in the ground.

The pit is about 4 to 5 meters in diameter and about 6 meters deep.

This huge pit is enough to prove how big and how good the potatoes growing here are.

After observing carefully for a while, he stood up and asked, "When they exploded, did they all explode at the same time, or one after another?"

Ben replied quickly, "One after another, at first, I stepped on this..."

He pointed to the edge of the giant pit, "but nothing happens when you step on it."

"Then, when I got close to the root, it suddenly exploded!"

"After that, there were a series of explosions that were impossible to stop."

"When the explosions stopped, this is what it looked like here. Not a single potato was left in the crater."

Li Aili: "Okay, I think I understand what's going on."

It was pretty much what she had guessed.

Li Aili bent down, picked up a dry twig, and drew a 'simple diagram' on the ground.

"This is the ground."

“These are potato vines,” she drew a simple sketch of green seedlings, “and below that are potatoes.”

"According to Ben's point of view, I can assume that most of the potatoes in a bunch are 'harmless'."

In other words, stepping on them will not cause a chain reaction of potato explosions.

“But there’s one, probably near here…” Li Aili circled the soil around the seedling.

“There’s a potato growing nearby; it’s the ‘trigger.’ Stepping on it will activate these ‘potato bombs.’”

Almost as soon as Li Aili finished speaking, Ben Karsa's eyes lit up again.

"Madam, if what you say is true, I think we can give it a try!"

Li Aili: "?"

Karsa: "Use the potato field as an advanced training ground!"

Li Aili: "..."

The incredibly efficient Karsa immediately summoned the Golden Knights, along with Edward.

He used the dirt on the ground that Li Aili had laid to explain something to the knights.

As it turns out, the Cavaliers are all training fanatics.

After hearing this, their eyes lit up.

“This could be used for a training session!” Edward exclaimed excitedly.

"Reaction time, stamina, observation skills, speed..." Edward rubbed his hands together. "I'll give it a try first!"

After saying that, he lifted the rope, ducked down, and crawled inside.

First, Edward used the 'Heroic and Fearless' ability on himself.

A blue light enveloped his knight's armor.

This is a unique professional ability of a Gold-rank knight.

Then, he took out a bottle of potion brewed by Li Aili.
