Linda remained silent for a long time.
Water droplets dripped down from the cave ceiling, their echoes lingering long afterward.
"Um."
After a series of events, Linda no longer harbored any resentment towards Lia. In fact, thanks to Lia, this "failure," she taught him how to get along with his teammates.
Linda learned a lot from Leah about being an adventure leader.
Lessons learned from failure.
He could avoid the pitfalls that Leah had encountered.
“I don’t regret spending three years at Xueyan,” Linda said.
"Huh? You're not angry?" Leah looked up at him in surprise.
"Of course he's angry," Linda chuckled. "He worries too much, always afraid the captain will fall to the monster's claws. Willful, arrogant, conceited, and flat-chested too..."
Leah's face darkened, and she sneered, "Then why did you stay for three years before leaving the team?"
"Despite her many shortcomings... she will likely become an excellent adventure captain in the future."
"And it's not all bad; they also know how to protect their teammates in their own way."
Inside the cave, Linda's voice flowed like a clear spring.
A surge of unbearable bitterness welled up in Leah's chest, and her eyes burned.
I never expected Linda to see her this way.
She did so many terrible things to Linda, yet Linda could still find fault with her.
All she could think about was how to defeat Linda, humiliate Linda, and wanted the whole continent to know that Linda's decision to leave the team was a mistake.
Her magnanimity is worlds apart from Linda's!
Leah sniffed hard, trying to clear her stuffy nose, and wiped her eyes with the back of her hand.
As the two emerged from the cave.
Isa and Monica appeared in the corner.
Isa held Monica's hand and silently watched Linda and the others' retreating figures.
"Captain, are you going to... with Leah...?"
Monica's heart tightened.
She spread her fingers and calculated for Linda.
Fortunately, people have two hands.
Otherwise, we won't be able to make it!
Monica looked at the dejected Isha, then at Leah in the distance, and said, "Sister Isha, I support you!"
"Huh?" Isa came to her senses and blinked.
What does that mean?
On the other side.
Linda and the others made it out safely.
The evil Pumpkin Castle, which could terrify ordinary adventurers, was no different from child's play in the eyes of the two.
In terms of boldness, the two are quite similar.
After passing through a jungle simulated by a magic circle, a flashing sign appeared ahead, with the words "Exit" written in large letters.
At the exit, two clown-like magical puppets activated their spray system, sending streamers of color raining down on Linda and her companion. The puppets shouted, "Congratulations to the two brave warriors for passing through the Evil Pumpkin Castle!"
"It's not scary."
Linda commented.
Lia hummed in agreement. "It's more interesting to hunt monsters."
Emerging from Pumpkin Castle, one finds a quiet grove of trees with a nightlight every so often, and many couples sitting on benches nearby.
Linda realized that the haunted house adventure was over and it was time to let go.
But when he tried to pull it out, he couldn't.
He cautioned, "Once you leave the haunted house, you don't have to follow the rules anymore."
"Wait a little longer..."
Lia lowered her head and poked a pebble on the ground with her toe, making a very soft sound, like the whimper of a mosquito.
This was so different from Leah, who always had a clear voice and loved to shout.
"What, you're in debt again?" Linda's expression was normal. "I already gave you the 310,000 gold coins as reward for defeating the epic monster, and a level 25 orange-quality greatsword. That should be enough to pay off your debt."
"Almost there," Leah said vaguely.
“At the last party, I wanted to ask you…” Leah’s voice trembled slightly: “Linda, did you ever… like me?”
The two of them walked deep into the grove, where it was pitch black and there was no one else around.
Only the bright moonlight in the night sky pierced through the tree canopy, falling sparsely at our feet.
Linda thought about it carefully.
"have."
"ah?"
Leah gasped in surprise.
"It's not just you."
Linda smiled and said, "I like Lin Xi, Eike, Chrona, Kaine, Oru... I like them all."
Leah stared in disbelief, shook her head, and said, "It's not that kind of liking."
She tilted her head up and looked at Linda.
The peony hairpin in her red hair gave Lia a more mature air, and the neckline of her yukata had somehow come undone, revealing her delicate, artistic collarbone.
The girl's other hand trembled as she gripped the handbag. Linda caught a glimpse and was surprised to find a cosmetic box inside that was completely unrelated to Leah's personality, as well as a slim "Sea and Sky" brand watch, which seemed to be a set with the one Leah had given her.
But Linda was wearing the one Isa gave him today, and perhaps for that reason, Leah put it in her handbag.
A sudden realization flashed through Linda's mind.
So that's how it is.
Leah's various capricious behaviors are based on the premise that she thinks he likes her and is her lapdog!
When Linda first joined the team, she probably had some feelings for this girl.
The heroic posture of wielding a greatsword in battle, with the splashing fiery red battle aura, is very dashing and cool.
And then there are the long, black-stockinged legs that Linda likes.
But now...
It's a long story.
Some people, after spending a lot of time together, end up becoming teammates.
Linda thought carefully about the scene of pushing Leah down, and found herself so embarrassed that she couldn't get an erection.
