"What?" Linda was quite surprised.
"You saved me, so I don't want any of the rewards."
Leah whispered, "Thanks."
The only sound in the cave was the rhythmic chopping of vegetables by Tasia, which made it seem rather desolate.
Lia kept her head down and didn't look up for a long time.
Her eyes were red and swollen. When she heard that Linda was level 32, had earned a lot of gold coins, and had even obtained a skill book for a rare skill, the sense of disparity grew wider and wider. She could almost see the two adventure teams gradually becoming strangers and no longer interacting with each other.
Leah clenched her fists tighter and tighter, her mind screaming: No way!
An adventure is meaningless if it's not done together with others.
Ten days of solo adventures in the Great Mystic Realm made Leah realize that companions were far more important than becoming stronger and gaining power on her own. If she lost her companions, who would she have to boast to about her power?
Linda paused for a moment upon hearing Lia's thanks, her gaze turning strange.
He paused for a moment, then placed his large hand on Leah's head, his voice gentle: "I also want to say this to you. If you hadn't stopped Nacho and the others, things would have been dangerous. Thank you."
Lia pursed her lips and said, "Linda, will you one day forget me... no, forget the Snow Goose Adventure Team?"
Linda chuckled: "How could that be? I won't forget a single one of my companions' names."
"So, me too?"
"certainly."
"oh..."
Lia let Linda rub her head, just like a cat that was usually noisy but suddenly became quiet.
A strange emotion welled up in her chest, like the sunset-red hawthorns ripening on the fifth floor. Sweet and sour, a single one could linger in her mouth for a long time.
Thankfully, Tasia was quiet, so it was Eko who made a few sarcastic remarks. Lia secretly glanced at the silver-haired maid busy at the pot; the maid didn't seem to have any intention of commenting on the scene before her.
'If Aiko were half as quiet as others, I'd be able to become friends with her much sooner.'
Lia thought to herself.
"Alright, all the lice have been caught. If I'm not mistaken, you often run into the sawleaf bushes, right? That's also a favorite spot for wild boars and wolves. Lice hide under the sawleaf leaves and jump onto your head without you noticing."
Linda threw three or four lice the size of soybeans on the ground, stomped them to death, then pinched her nose and said with some disgust, "You should take a shower. You smell awful. It was so much trouble carrying you back."
Lia blushed instantly.
It wasn't like Linda was giving her a friendly pat; it was like she was picking lice off her head.
This is utterly shameful!
