"Unfortunately, your daughter's aptitude was too poor; she turned into a twisted, stinking lump of flesh in just a few minutes! Now, she probably wouldn't even be considered a threat by a goblin!"
Halus sneered.
In just a few seconds.
Level 35 [Rockbreaker] Rhodes is dead!
Even though Halus launched the sneak attack first, the power he displayed was still astonishing.
"Lord Halus is mighty!"
"Praise be to Lord Halus!"
"Those who defy His Majesty the Demon King's will shall surely die!"
The cultists found their leader and flocked to Halus's side.
Linda frowned.
The old man has changed a lot in the month I haven't seen him.
First is appearance.
Halus was skin and bones, with sunken eyes, a row of ribs protruding beneath his robe, and spider legs covered in hair.
It swayed slightly with Halus's breathing.
The opponent's level aura was also much higher than when they met in Dragon Forest, at least level 37.
Linda's primary task was to stall for time until reinforcements arrived.
He didn't make any rash moves, instead casting a verdant shield around himself. Standing about ten meters away on the platform, he gripped his sword with both hands, watching Harush warily.
"Hehe, Linda, are you all sweaty?"
This is the power of the potion.
The blood of a fallen witch is purified and then combined with carefully prepared dragon blood.
Compared to that, what are these minor physical abnormalities?
Halus affectionately stroked the spider leg on his stomach, as if a perverted orc were caressing an elf lady's black silk.
He looked up at Monica, who was hanging in the air inside the cage, and chuckled strangely:
"Little Monica, watch with your own eyes how your captain dies before your very eyes! Remember, it's all because of you!"
Linda's expression changed, and she said, "Don't listen to this guy's nonsense. Just wait patiently, the captain will pick you up and take you home soon! Lulu and the others have prepared the food and are waiting for you to come back!"
"But...but Monica is a useless team member," Monica whispered.
Throughout the month, Halus kept emphasizing one concept to her: in the Phoenix Flower Adventure Team, she was the most useless one, only able to hold Linda back.
It would be better to stay in the Dragon's Rest Tomb and undergo experiments.
And now, it's all her fault that Linda came to her rescue, only to be trapped by Halus...
"You bastard!"
Linda saw that Monica in the cage was trembling more and more violently. He gritted his teeth, jumped into the air, and threw the Dark Whip to attack the iron chains that were suspending the cage.
Bang!
The Whip of Darkness was struck by a black spear and shattered, vanishing.
Halus sneered as he raised his staff: "Who do you think you are, daring to steal my experimental subjects? Followers, attack!"
The forty or so cult members, steeling themselves, charged toward Linda.
Led by three heavily armored warriors wielding massive shields, the middle row consisted of spearmen and swordsmen, while the back row comprised two mages and a healer.
These eight people are at the Star Rank, while the other believers are all at level 20 or above.
They surrounded Linda, reducing her room to dodge.
"A row of city walls!"
Three heavily armored warriors roared in unison.
Their giant shields were all black, with castle patterns carved on them.
The three men were burly and powerful. They slammed their giant shields into the ground with a thud, and instantly, a phantom city wall appeared, firmly blocking Linda.
Without taking down these three heavily armored warriors, Linda will have a hard time attacking the cultists' back row.
Herous and the other mages took the opportunity to chant spells.
Wind blades, fireballs, and skeleton soldiers summoned by Halus came one after another.
When facing Linda, a level 33 healing warlock, Harus did not hesitate to choose to bully the weak and outnumber the enemy.
Heh heh!
I will torture Linda to death little by little.
Monica, just listen to Linda's screams and watch how he dies!
With a wave of his black gemstone staff, Halus created a magic circle inside the cage, from which a skeleton emerged, its eye sockets glowing with deep blue flames.
It forced Monica's little face against the cage bars.
They forced Monica to open her eyes wide and see the dangerous situation Linda was in, surrounded by enemies.
"Waaah, no, no..." Monica cried out.
The girl's cries greatly surprised Harus. He took out a tablet magic device he carried with him, and the screen on it displayed a mountain-shaped magic wave pattern.
The highest point was far greater than usual.
Change, change for me!
Hellos was so anxious that he scratched his head and looked closely at Monica's appearance. She was still in human form and had not turned into a monster.
This shows that the stimulus is not enough!
"Watch out, don't kill Linda right away, torture him!" Halus ordered.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
At the forefront of the battle, the resounding clang of longswords striking giant shields was incessant.
Linda's expression was cold, and she unleashed her magic power as if it were free, attacking the shield wall formed by three heavily armored warriors in succession.
Each attack was like a giant beast shaking the earth; even through the giant shield, the three were beaten until blood trickled from the corners of their mouths by Linda.
"What kind of monster is this?! Is he really only level 33?"
"Hold on, hold on... No, I can't hold on much longer!"
"Damn it, where's the healing spell? Hurry up!"
Led by Paul, a heavily armored black warrior with dreadlocks, all three complained bitterly.
Their average grade is 31, which, in theory, is not much different from Linda's.
But when the fight started, it was like "three infants fighting a behemoth," and Linda's hand holding the shield was numb from the shock.
Hiss! Hiss!
At that moment, a piercing corrosive sound rang out.
Paul stared intently, terrified out of his wits! His heavy shield had been pierced by Linda's poison technique, leaving a hole the size of a fist!
