Chapter 14 Li Ze Makes a Move

The Void Beasts are here!

The once quiet city was now filled with cries and shouts, followed by the sounds of shells and ships being reduced to ashes.

Li Ze felt warm liquid flowing out of his ear. He reached out and touched it, and his hand was covered in a wet, sticky liquid.

It's blood.

This body is still too weak.

"Boss, don't just stand there, run!" Two kidnappers grabbed the stunned Li Ze from either side and dragged him toward the city ahead.

I wonder if the pirate cities have any shelters. Even if they don't, the city is still safer than the open fields.

At least there are things to cover in the urban area.

The two kidnappers carried Li Ze as they ran and dodged through the city, having to avoid the Void Beasts and watch out for the space pirates' artillery fire.

The relentless impact of energy waves worsened Li Ze's already damaged body. If it weren't for his powerful spiritual sense, he would have already fallen unconscious.

They even lost their lives.

boom!

A tall building collapsed in front of Li Ze and his companions, sending dust billowing everywhere. But that didn't stop Li Ze from seeing the Void Beast on the ruins: red scales, gleaming claws, a body as large as a small mountain, and eyes the size of a human head, all coldly staring at them.

"It's over!"

The two kidnappers stood there, utterly despondent.

hiss--

A tooth-grinding, piercing sound came through.

Behind the Void Beast, a gray mech wielding a large sword slashed across its body, the tip of the blade colliding with its scales, sparks flying.

"Run!" Li Ze warned the two stunned kidnappers.

"Oh? Oh, oh!" The kidnappers snapped out of their daze, each grabbing one of Li Ze's arms and pulling him in a different direction.

A tearing sensation came, and Li Ze's temple throbbed. "Listen to me, to the left."

Without hesitation, the two kidnappers immediately headed to the left. Both of them were sentries, nearly two meters tall, while Li Ze, who was only 1.8 meters tall, was carried by them the entire time, his feet barely touching the ground.

"Turn left!"

"Turn right!"

"straight!"

"Go under that iron cage!"

Li Ze directed the two kidnappers throughout the entire process.

"An iron cage? Which iron cage?"

The kidnappers were bewildered, and Li Ze, helpless, pointed ahead.

"Oh, that's it. That's not iron, it's a metal-like material. Its hardness and strength are superior to metal in every way," the kidnapper explained.

Li Ze wasn't interested in that, only reminding them, "There are many living people underground there."

The kidnappers were overjoyed, "It might be a shelter!"

The kidnappers quickened their pace, while wondering how their boss knew there were so many people below.

As the large iron cage drew ever closer, two hurricanes suddenly struck—

Li Ze, who had been being carried, grabbed the back of the collars of the two kidnappers, pulled hard, and slid forward.

Another loud bang rang out, and where the three of them had just stood, two Void Beasts were now standing side by side. These two Void Beasts were slightly smaller, but still about eight or nine times the size of Li Ze.

These are two Void Beasts whose strength lies in speed!

"That feeling of being on the verge of death has returned." The kidnapper was on the verge of tears.

Li Ze looked around and saw that there were no mechs or fighting machines within a radius of two hundred meters. In other words, no one could help them.

Li Ze released the two kidnappers and said coldly, "Step aside."

The kidnapper looked at Li Ze in surprise, "What did you say?"

Li Ze glanced at them indifferently, his eyes filled with disdain.

The kidnappers confirmed that they hadn't misheard; their boss really had told them to back off.

The kidnappers ran quickly to within thirty meters.

Li Ze and the Void Beast exchanged glances. The former remained calm and composed, while the latter showed a hint of doubt. This seemingly weak human actually made it feel threatened?

Li Ze and the Void Beast moved almost simultaneously, as fast as lightning. Their movements were too fast for the naked eye to see. Only two cracking sounds of bones breaking, less than a second apart, could be heard. Immediately afterward, there was a loud thud as a heavy object hit the ground, dust rose, and the ground caved in.

what happened?

The two kidnappers glanced at the dust-filled area, ready to escape at any moment.

Soon, the dust settled, and the two kidnappers could see the situation clearly.

Li Ze lay on the ground, bleeding from all seven orifices, his condition unknown.

The necks of the two Void Beasts were bent at an eerie angle, their bones breaking through their scales and revealing their enormous, empty eyes, devoid of any light.

He died.

The two kidnappers were incredulous; in just a few seconds, the two Void Beasts were dead!

Is this still a human capability?

"I'll go check on the boss's condition. You go and dig out the energy crystals from the bodies of these two void beasts," the kidnapper quickly ordered, suppressing his shock.

“Okay!” the other kidnapper replied. He glanced around, picked up a piece of iron from the side, and immediately ran toward the two Void Beasts.

Li Ze fell backward to the ground, covered in a thick layer of dust. The kidnapper grabbed his hand first, and the icy touch startled him. He then hurriedly checked Li Ze's heartbeat and breathing, and when he confirmed that Li Ze was still breathing, he breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank goodness, he's still alive."

The kidnapper scooped Li Ze up in his arms and said to the other kidnapper, "Are you done? Time to go!"

"You run first, I'll be right there," the kidnapper said without looking up.

"Okay, hurry up and keep up." With that, the kidnapper carried Li Ze and continued running towards the huge 'iron cage'. After he had run a few dozen meters with Li Ze in his arms, another kidnapper carrying two fist-sized black energy crystals quickly caught up.

They quickly arrived at the 'iron cage', and by then, not only them, but also many other people had arrived.

"Don't just stand there, come in quickly, or we'll close the door!" Inside the cage-like building, there was a heavy door, and several people were standing by the door, shouting loudly to the people outside.

Without a second thought, the two kidnappers ran towards the gate with the others.

Underneath the iron cage was not a refuge, but an underground boxing ring. However, because it was built so sturdily, people used it as a refuge.

The moment the two kidnappers entered, they immediately felt a strong sense of unease. This unease stemmed partly from the large number of people and the poor air quality, and partly from the boxing ring itself, where the long-accumulated stench of blood made them want to vomit.

However, they had no choice but to endure it.

In stark contrast to them, Li Ze, who had been frowning and enduring great pain since entering this place, slowly lost his pained expression, which was replaced by a faint sense of relief.

Unseen by the naked eye, a dense aura of malevolence was surging into Li Ze's body from within the boxing ring.
