"No reason, I just wanted to see if you would contact me first." He Xingjue's expression was incredibly irritating.
"Childish!" Li Ze rolled his eyes.
"People in love are all childish," He Xingjue admitted frankly, seemingly even proud of it.
Upon hearing the words "in love," Li Ze's face flushed slightly, and his heart inexplicably raced. His hand trembled, and he ended the call.
Li Ze looked at the personal terminal, still hesitating whether to redial, when Chen Kaiyang walked in.
“Several large remittances have been deposited into our charity foundation’s account today,” Chen Kaiyang said, looking at Li Ze with a complicated expression. “These large remittances all came from Commander He.”
Li Ze's pupils contracted slightly, his expression one of disbelief.
"Why don't you confirm with Commander He?" The amounts of those remittances were simply too large, leaving several key members of their foundation completely bewildered.
Li Ze nodded mechanically. "I will confirm."
Li Ze sent another communication request to He Xingjue. The moment the other party accepted, he immediately asked, "How many large remittances have you sent to the foundation?"
"Yes, what's the problem?" He Xingjue said casually. "I've spent the whole day dealing with my assets."
"Why?" Li Ze had a guess in his mind, but still asked the other party for confirmation.
"Why else? Don't you already know the answer?" He Xingjue retorted.
“I know. But I didn’t know it would be so soon. I thought you would at least wait until your subordinates—”
"Li Ze!" He Xingjue interrupted Li Ze. "To me, no one is more important than you. My subordinates have their own lives; their absence won't make a difference. I don't need to wait until they're old, much less until they die. No need! They have their own families, and so do I. To me, everything revolves around you. I know you're constantly thinking about going back, so why would I keep you here any longer?"
