Chapter 57: Lich Attacks

Ever since the black fog covered the city, the Lich had been ordering the undead to attack Langari's protective formation. A rough estimate showed that he had more than twenty eighth-level undead and a ninth-level bone dragon that came from nowhere.

Everyone was shocked that an eighth-level necromancer could control a ninth-level bone dragon. The appearance of this bone dragon made it more difficult for them to defend the city.

Even though there were two ninth-level professionals and seven eighth-level professionals in Langari City, they almost couldn't withstand his attack. In just one afternoon, the protective formation consumed a huge amount of energy.

As for the nearby towns and villages, they had long since disappeared in the attacks of the undead. Fortunately, the city lord had already issued a notice, and most of the residents had already taken refuge in the city. Only a few stubborn people died outside.

Marshall's eyes swept over the students standing in front of him and he sighed tiredly, "I won't hide it from you, the current battle situation is indeed not optimistic. Langari is now surrounded by undead on all sides. Those inside can't get out, and those outside can't get in.

We are just barely holding on thanks to the protective formation. We don't know how long it will take for support from the Empire to arrive, and it's also unknown whether we can find the Lich's life box.

All we can do is to do our utmost to kill the enemy and defend the city. The rest is up to fate."

Everyone's face looked unhappy. They didn't expect that the situation would develop to this point in just one afternoon.

"Here, take these things. They are things our instructors prepared for you to protect yourself. If the city is breached, you might be able to survive with these things."

Marshall gave each of them a space ring, which contained a lot of things.

"Okay, let's all go back. I have to go back to the front line too."

They returned to the room in silence.

Gu Shi went back and sat in the chair, not knowing what he was thinking about, but Marshall suddenly found him and handed Gu Shi another gorgeous necklace.

Gu Shi held the necklace and asked doubtfully, "Teacher, what is this?"

Marshall replied, "Burns asked me to bring it to you. I don't know what's inside it."
