Chapter 10 There’s a ghost!
Cai's hands unconsciously clenched a little: "You lowly slave, I asked you to serve Miss Seventh because I was flattering you. Who told you to slander Miss Seventh and destroy our mother-daughter relationship?"
Madam Qian was still kowtowing on the ground: "Madam, I didn't do that. I am wronged!"
"Madam Zhang, take him away. Such an evil slave who slanders his master should not be allowed to stay in the mansion." After saying this, Cai flicked her sleeves and turned away without looking at Madam Qian.
Nanny Qian was dragged away and looked at Su Nuobai viciously.
Su Nuobai looked at Cai: "Mother, since it is a gift from the emperor, please take it back!"
"I've never seen such valuables in the manor. If they were broken, it would be a sin."
Cai was now feeling very uncomfortable. She really had no way of keeping these imperial gifts in her room.
"Madam Zhang, please take the imperial gifts back to the warehouse and choose some new and interesting ornaments for Miss Seven."
Nanny Zhang bowed and took people into the house to get something from the Duobao Pavilion.
As soon as they took down the imperial gift, the other things along with the Treasure Pavilion collapsed and shattered.
Su Nuobai widened her beautiful eyes and said, "Madam Zhang, how could you break the ornaments my mother gave me?"
Nanny Zhang didn't know how to react for a moment and could only look at Cai.
Cai looked at the fragments on the ground. These things were very valuable, but now they were all broken into pieces, which made her heart ache even more.
"It must be an accident, an accident."
Su Nuobai blinked: "If it's an accident, forget it. I don't understand these things anyway."
There was still no expression on Cai's face, but her clenched fists betrayed her emotions.
Su Nuobai watched them prepare to leave and said, "Mother, there is something I don't understand."
Cai was about to lose her temper, but she tried hard to hold it back, making herself look kind and loving: "What is it that Nuobai doesn't understand?"
"Do they eat vegetarian food and chant Buddhist scriptures in the mansion?" Su Nuobai tilted his head and thought for a moment after saying this: "But today is not the first or fifteenth day of the lunar month."
"Do we have to be vegetarian all year round? Or are we just too poor?"
Cai was just confused by Su Nuobai's anger and didn't think about the meaning of this sentence: "There is no such rule in the mansion."
"I understand. That means mother needs Nuobai to eat vegetarian food, chant Buddhist scriptures and pray for you." Su Nuobai nodded seriously.
"When did I ask you to eat vegetarian food, chant Buddhist scriptures, and pray for blessings?" Cai felt that this damn girl had only been back for one day, but she was already mad enough.
"Isn't it? Then why are the meals delivered only steamed buns and vegetables, without a drop of oil?" Su Nuobai looked at her curiously.
Cai turned to look at Nanny Li beside her: "What's going on?"
Nanny Li wanted to give Su Nuobai a warning, but she had just returned from the farm and usually didn't have enough to eat, so being able to eat steamed buns and vegetables was already good enough.
Who would have thought that this would happen today and involve her as well.
"But, maybe the people in the kitchen made a mistake."
"Hurry up and have someone send some food over. Nuobai has been away from home for many years, so she can't be treated badly in terms of food." Cai glared at her.
Su Nuobai smiled sweetly: "Mom, I have a big appetite, and I haven't eaten many delicious foods!"
Cai rolled her eyes in her heart: How big can one’s appetite be?
"Just eat as much glutinous rice as you want. We can still provide enough food at home."
Feng Zhi sneered in his heart: You will definitely regret what you said today.
Cai asked Li Ma to bring all the food over. If she made such a mistake again, she would just be kicked out of the house.
Nanny Li felt very upset, but there was nothing she could do but to prepare food for her immediately.
Cai looked at Su Nuobai and said, "Nuobai, you have to recognize your family members tomorrow morning. Don't forget."
"My daughter understands. She will be there on time." Su Nuobai watched her escape from the yard.
Aunt Luo didn't dare to breathe.
After a while, a lot of food was sent from the kitchen, this time there was fish, meat, and white rice.
Su Nuobai ate up all the food without any hesitation, and even reminded them to send more tomorrow, because it was still not enough for her to fill her stomach.
Aunt Luo didn't eat much herself, so she just picked up some food for her. Watching her eat was a happy thing.
Su Deyi had dinner with his colleagues today, and when he got home he ran into Censor Tang from next door.
"Sir Su, you have really made me look at you with new eyes by withholding the daughter of a concubine." After saying that, he entered the house and closed the door.
Su Deyi looked puzzled: Is there something wrong with this old man? When has he ever withheld money from his concubine's daughter?
When he returned home, the housekeeper came out to greet him: "Master, something happened at home today."
Su Deyi looked at him: "What happened?"
The housekeeper quickly took Su Nuobai to the Ministry of Justice prison, and was taken back by the eldest lady, who then told everyone around what he had seen.
Su Deyi's eyes widened: "You mean Miss Seven?"
The housekeeper nodded quickly: "Yes, she came back dirty and messy, and was falsely accused of murder by the people in the manor."
Su Deyi's face turned cold: How can the Cai family be the head of the family?
"Go to Jinxiu Court."
Su Nuobai didn't know what happened in Jinxiu Court. She looked at the two little paper figures and said, "Help me do something tonight."
The old man and Qin Miao's two little paper figures immediately became interested: "What's going on?"
"Help me scare away the other three people my mother gave me." Su Nuobai smiled like a little fox.
"Scare away?" The old man's voice was filled with excitement.
"It's quite troublesome to keep these people in the yard and be on guard every day." Su Nuobai also planned to slip away to earn merit.
Qin Miao was a little timid: "But they can't see us, how can we scare them?"
"This is easy." Su Nuobai released the two people from the little paper figures and injected a stream of pure Yin energy into them.
The bodies of the two people became visible to the naked eye.
Feng Zhi could see them now: "Can they really scare people like this?"
Su Nuobai looked at the two people and found that they didn't look scary. She put makeup on them and said, "That's it."
Feng Zhi looked at the two ghosts covered in blood and flesh: "It's quite scary."
Qin Miao looked at the old man and screamed in fear: "There's a ghost!"
The old man looked at her speechlessly: "Miao girl, you are a ghost now."
"Oh! I forgot!" Qin Miao then remembered that he was already a ghost and scratched his head in embarrassment.
The two ghosts went through the wall to find the other three.
Su Nuobai sat cross-legged on the bed, looking at the luck above his head. He reached out and drew a small strand of golden luck, letting it slowly blend into his body.
Refine it bit by bit to increase your spiritual power.
“Help!”
"There's a ghost!"
"Don't come over here!"
"Bang!"
Su Nuobai acted as if she didn't hear anything. The noisy sounds outside did not affect her practice at all.
Feng Zhi glanced at the person sitting on the bed. When the two ghosts came back, their figures had faded and slowly disappeared in the room.
