Chapter 9 No grudges in the past, no hatred in the present
Feng Zhi quietly looked at Nanny Qian who came in. He just wanted to hide, but Su Nuobai stopped him and told him to just stand aside.
He saw Nanny Qian walk past him as if she didn't see him.
The two little paper figures on the table had been put into his arms, and now their little heads were poking out from his lapels, looking outside.
Su Nuobai looked at Aunt Qian, who was looking around: "Aunt Qian, where is my dinner?"
Nanny Qian retracted her gaze and said, "It has been placed in Auntie's room."
Su Nuobai stood up and walked towards the door. She also looked at where she was standing, which was right next to Duobao Pavilion.
Nanny Qian watched her approaching her step by step, and the light in her eyes became more and more frightening.
She stretched out her hand and pushed Su Nuobai.
Su Nuobai slightly tilted her body, causing her to bump directly into the shelf of Duobao Pavilion.
"Ping-ling, pang-clang." The things on the shelves of Duobao Pavilion fell to the ground, and even the shelves fell down.
Of course, this is what Nanny Qian saw, but the real reality is not like this.
Su Nuobai walked over to her and squatted down beside her with concern: "Madame Qian, are you okay?"
Nanny Qian suddenly burst into tears, "Seventh Miss, even if you don't like me, you can beat me or scold me, but how can you destroy the things that the eldest lady gave you?"
"These were carefully selected for you by the Madam. They also contain gifts from the Emperor. Damaging them is a serious crime!"
After she finished speaking, she ran out of the room crying.
Su Nuobai watched her run out of the yard, while the other three saw what was happening in her room.
The Duobao Pavilion was placed there properly, and the ornaments on it had not even been moved, let alone broken.
They looked at the smiling Su Nuobai and felt even colder.
Su Nuobai said calmly: "Feng Zhi, let's go eat, otherwise the food will get cold."
Feng Zhi followed her not far behind: "What happened to her just now?"
"I just let her see the result she wanted." Su Nuobai put her hands behind her back and walked towards Aunt Luo's room, swaying from side to side.
Aunt Luo heard the noise in the yard and couldn't help but frown: "Madam Wei, what happened just now?"
"I'll go check it out." Nanny Wei said as she was about to open the door. Just then she saw Su Nuobai stepping in. "Seventh Miss."
Su Nuobai saw that she seemed to be going out: "Madame Wei, are you going out?"
Nanny Wei quickly said, "I just heard a commotion outside, and I'm going to go check it out."
"Don't go, eat first. You won't have time to eat later." Su Nuobai said as he walked to Aunt Luo and sat down.
She looked at the food on the table; it was really simple!
Three steamed buns, a plate of vegetables, a bowl of vegetable soup, and not a single meat dish.
Are you planning to make her a vegetarian and chant Buddhist scriptures?
Aunt Luo saw her looking at the food on the table and felt unhappy: "Seventh Miss, is the food not to your taste?"
Su Nuobai looked at her: "Auntie, do you eat these every day?"
"These are still good enough. Usually they just send us a bowl of porridge and rice soup, saying it is to save expenses in the mansion." Nanny Wei was a straightforward person.
Su Nuobai was afraid that Aunt Luo would be sad, so she picked up a steamed bun, broke it in half, handed one half to her, and ate the other half herself.
Now, for her, anything edible can restore her spiritual power, regardless of whether it tastes good or not.
When Aunt Luo saw how happily she was eating, her eyes couldn't help but become red again: she wondered what kind of life her daughter was leading in the farm.
She can eat these simple things so happily.
Nanny Wei felt very distressed when she saw this. Although their life in the mansion was hard, at least they had food to eat.
But seeing Miss Seven eating so voraciously made her feel uncomfortable.
Feng Zhi, who was standing not far away, couldn't help but twitch his lips: He really can eat!
Su Nuobai had just eaten a steamed bun when a sound came from outside the yard.
She put down the chopsticks in her hand: "Auntie, eat slowly, I'll go out and take a look."
Aunt Luo couldn't eat at all, so she put down her chopsticks and left the room with her.
Cai and Nanny Zhang came to the yard together, and next to them was Nanny Qian, who was chattering and adding fuel to the fire.
Su Nuobai saw that there was a veil on Cai's face, and she could vaguely see the wounds on her face. It seemed that the injuries were really serious.
"Mother, your veil is very beautiful."
When Cai heard this, her anger rose rapidly.
But because so many people were watching, she could only try to suppress her anger: "Nuobai, Aunt Qian said you broke all the ornaments I sent you."
"Kid, if you don't like it, just tell me and I'll get you another batch. Why waste money?"
"There are quite a few items in here that were bestowed by the emperor. If they get broken, you'll be in big trouble."
When Aunt Luo heard this, her face turned pale and she wanted to kneel down and beg Cai for mercy.
But before she could kneel down, Su Nuobai pulled her up and turned to look at Cai: "Mother, what do you mean by this?"
Seeing that she was unmoved, Madam Cai winked at Madam Zhang and said, "Go and see if anything is broken. Did you break anything given by the Emperor?"
"It doesn't matter if other things are broken, we can just replace them."
Nanny Zhang knelt down and bowed, then went to Su Nuobai's room.
But when she came out, the expression on her face was very ugly.
Cai was delighted. It seemed that this damn girl had really smashed everything. "Madam Zhang, is anything broken?"
Nanny Zhang said with a stiff upper lip, "Madam, all the furnishings in Miss Seven's room are in good condition."
"What?" Cai and Qian's voices became much louder in disbelief.
"Mother is so surprised?" Su Nuobai looked at her innocently.
"How, how could that be?" Cai said, looking at Madam Qian fiercely. "It was Madam Qian in your yard who said you dropped something."
"Madame Qian, you are the one my mother gave me. How can you sow discord between me and my mother?" Su Nuobai looked at her with a sad face.
Nanny Qian knew very well that she had been fooled, but she had clearly seen the collapse of Duobao Pavilion, so how could it have turned out like this?
"You must have cheated, you must have wronged me."
Su Nuobai was even more puzzled: "Madam Qian, today is my first day back home, and it's also my first day meeting you. We have no grudges in the past or today, so why would I wrongly accuse you?"
"Is it because your mother sent you to serve me, and you feel wronged and unwilling to do so? That's why you're trying to put down my mother and me?"
Madam Qian knelt on the ground and kowtowed to Cai: "Madam, I, I didn't do that. I clearly saw the Duobao Pavilion collapse."
"I thought there were some imperial gifts on it. If it was damaged, I would be punished. I didn't dare to hide it, so I reported it."
