Chapter 2: Meeting an Old Friend Again

Seeing that Gu Luoxi hadn't taken the medicine, the boy's eyes showed some impatience, but fortunately, he was very patient and didn't show it. He was thinking of putting the water on the bedside table, thinking that whether Gu Luoxi ate it or not was none of his business.

"I'm sorry." Gu Luoqi's voice was a little hoarse as she recalled the past.

She's bullied him since she was little and never apologized to him. She should apologize to him properly before leaving.

Although it's not very useful.

The boy seemed startled by her apologetic voice, and his hand loosened slightly, causing the glass in his hand to fall to the ground and shatter.

Gu Luoqi was slightly startled by Qi Sheng's actions. Before she could say anything, she saw his slightly trembling hands and his face turn pale instantly.

She immediately remembered that he seemed very afraid of the sound of glass breaking, though she didn't know why.

She gently reached out, hesitated slightly, but still placed her hand on the boy. She patted his back softly and said in a gentle voice, "Don't be afraid..."

Qi Sheng trembled slightly, but did not dodge Gu Luoxi's movements.

After a moment, his face was no longer as pale as before. He dodged Gu Luoqi's hand, stood up, and left without looking back.

Then she remembered that she seemed to have encountered this scene in her past life, except that she was too wicked in her past life!

She smashed the glass to pieces in front of Qi Sheng. Although Qi Sheng endured it and ran out, she could still see that he was scared.

For a long time afterward, she mocked him quite a bit.

Moreover, she did it in front of many people until her father finally spoke up and she stopped her despicable behavior.

Even so, many people still learned about Qi Sheng's 'secret'.

Thinking about all this, Gu Luoqi wanted to kill her past self.

However, she couldn't seem to remember when she stopped disliking Qi Sheng.

And she even felt somewhat guilty towards him.

After watching him leave, she slowly lay down on the bed, looking exhausted.

My head still hurts.

She wanted to lie there like that, thinking that if she fell asleep, she would never wake up again.

Meanwhile, Qi Sheng, back in her room, curled up on the bed, her body trembling slightly.

His room was very brightly lit, and he never turned off the lights.

The darkness brought him not only loneliness, but also endless fear.

...

Gu Luoxi lay there for two hours before waking up covered in sweat and sitting there blankly.

Everything now tells her that she is not dead.

What exactly happened?

Rebirth.

A word flashed through her mind. She had read novels about this before, but novels are just novels. They could never happen in real life, let alone to her. But everything now told her that this might actually have happened!

Her head was still throbbing. She touched her forehead; it was burning hot. She couldn't care less about that now. She slowly got up to take some medicine, otherwise, at her condition, she would eventually damage her brain.

She slowly adjusted to the dizziness before opening the door and going out. She looked for the first-aid kit in the small cabinet in the living room entryway and poured herself a glass of water.

Qi Sheng wasn't in the living room. She looked up at the closed door. In her memory, his door was always closed, and even when he was alone, he would try his best to avoid her and reduce contact with her. He couldn't even be bothered to pretend to get along peacefully.

Gu Luoqi's lips twitched. Was she really that annoying?

She took out the first-aid kit from the cabinet, found some fever reducers and swallowed them. Her delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly. The medicine was so bitter. It was a pity that she was too old to eat candy after taking medicine.

No, she's back now, and she can be pretentious again. It's a really strange experience.

After taking her medicine, she took some tools and cleaned up the broken glass in her room.

She quickly cleaned the glass, wrapped it in paper, and wrote a note reminding others to be careful when handling it.

Only after doing all that did she take it out the door along with the other trash and throw it away.

As soon as she got back, she heard the phone ringing in the living room. She rushed over to answer it, but before she could even speak, she heard a voice on the other end say, "Why didn't you answer my calls?"

Su Yan.

The person she had liked for over ten years.

His voice was gentle, but Gu Luoqi could still hear the blame in his tone.

She froze, her eyes reddening and moistening: "I didn't notice." Her voice trembled and was a little hoarse.

Su Yan on the other end of the phone frowned slightly: "What's wrong with you?" He had clearly noticed that something was wrong with Gu Luoqi.

In that short moment, she finally remembered her current situation. If she remembered correctly, she should be seventeen years old now. She had gone out with Su Yan, and he had brought another girl with him. She got angry and got caught in the rain, which caused her to have a fever, and that led to the current situation.

"It's nothing, just a bit of a cold," Gu Luoqi said, trying to calm herself down.

She hadn't expected Gu Yan to notice this detail; of course, it was probably just out of concern for his childhood sweetheart.

"My mom invited you to my house for dinner," Su Yan said without pressing further.

He knew her parents were away on a business trip.

"I'm not going. I'm not feeling well and don't want to go out." Gu Luoqi had already controlled her emotions and spoke calmly.

Su Yan was stunned for a moment. She would never refuse in this situation before, but he didn't press further: "Okay then, find some fever reducer and I'll come find you later."

He hung up the phone after saying that, leaving her standing there lost in thought.

She snapped out of her daze and put down the phone.

Actually, if you think about it carefully, Su Yan really didn't do anything wrong. He just didn't like her, and her liking him probably had nothing to do with him.

She had already invested her past life, and in this life she decided to give up. She didn't feel any regret about this relationship.

Oh well, I'll get over it someday.

She went back to her room, found her phone, and turned it on to see that there were indeed many missed calls.

Two of the calls were from Su Yan, and she immediately called her father back after seeing the missed calls.

"Luo Xi?" A gentle voice came from the phone.

Gu Luoxi almost burst into tears when she heard her father's voice: "Dad." She didn't know how sad he would be if she died.

"Luo Xi, what's wrong with your voice?" The voice on the phone was full of concern.

"I just caught a cold by accident, it's nothing," she quickly said.

"Take some medicine first, and if that doesn't work, go to the hospital." He said seriously.

"Dad, I've already taken my medicine, and I feel much better now." Gu Luoqi said helplessly, wondering why her father still treated her like a child.

"Okay, you get some rest. We'll be back the day after tomorrow." He said in a doting tone.

“Mm,” Gu Luoqi replied.

After finishing her call with her father, she saw several other missed calls, and her eyes became even more sore.

The note above is 'Little Orange'.

Her hand holding the phone trembled slightly; it was her best friend from her teenage years.
