Chapter 10 Spirit Stone

The skinny monkey thought over Chu Yao's words and felt something in his heart.

He had been working in the mine for five years and was well aware of all the twists and turns. He immediately realized that this woman was trying to win over some of his power.

Skinny Monkey was originally a businessman and had saved a lot of money. However, he became addicted to gambling, lost all his property, and owed a huge amount of loans, so he was sold as a slave.

Of those who came in with him five years ago, only a few remain. His survival is partly due to luck and partly due to his own cleverness. What he said just now was half true, half false. Even if he didn't steal, he wouldn't starve for a while.

He weighed it carefully. It wasn't a tough job, and it wouldn't do him any harm. He could get the Yuanmu Stone for free, so why not do it?

Done!

"Miss, you are so straightforward. From now on, my son will follow you!"

"Call me Sister Chu."

Chu Yao wanted to laugh. So your real surname is Hou.

——

After working in the cave all day, it was finally time to rest at night. The miners dragged their tired bodies to the canteen and received their meager meals.

One meal a day—this was Fatty Zou's rule. No one complained, and no one dared to.

To these high-ranking celestial officials, these slaves were merely consumables. When they were gone, they would simply be replaced with new ones.

We lack everything except people to work.

Chu Yao finished her portion and staggered towards the place where the skinny monkey mentioned that old man Mo was.

Lingyuan Star had no moon, but it wasn't pitch black at night. The sky here was extremely clear, and the bright starlight cast a faint silvery white on the earth, creating a vast and quiet scene.

The skinny green stone monkey didn't know it, but he knew very well that the spiritual power fluctuations revealed inside could not be fake.

That is clearly a spirit stone!

Although it is not a complete spirit stone, judging from its color and purity, its quality is definitely very high, close to medium quality.

If there is a chance to obtain a large number of spirit stones, the speed of cultivation can be further improved.

Chu Yao found Old Man Mo's residence. According to Shou Hou, this man was the most famous merchant among the miners. No one knew his background, but they could always find a lot of good things from him.

“Boom boom boom!”

"The door is not locked, come in." An old voice came from the room.

Chu Yao pushed the door open and walked in. Before she saw anyone, she was already shocked by the furnishings in the room.

It was clearly a wooden house like hers, but it was filled with things everywhere: various picture cards were pasted on the walls, dried meat and sausages were hung on the shed, the bed was filled with books and miscellaneous items, as well as various exquisite gadgets that Chu Yao did not recognize.

Chu Yao felt as if she had entered a treasure pavilion and was dizzy from all the treasures.

"Do you want food or fun? It's up to you."

Old man Mo was curled up on the bed, with a tattered book in one hand and a pipe in the other, puffing away without even looking at Chu Yao.

Uncle, aren’t you a miner? Why do I feel that you live a more comfortable life than those heavenly officials?

Chu Yao was full of doubts, but now was not the time to ask those questions, business was more important.

"Do you have any more stones like this here?"

Chu Yao showed the stone she had taken from the skinny monkey. After hearing this, Old Man Mo looked at her again and said:

"Flying sword?"

"What do you mean?" Chu Yao frowned.

"Oh, I'm used to it. Don't be nervous, little girl, I don't mean anything else. It's just that others have come here to ask about it before, and they were all flying... uh, monks like you."

Seeing Chu Yao's face was a little grim, Old Man Mo changed his address. He supported himself on the bed with his hands and sat up, his movements were quite light.

"What a shame! Although I don't know what use this green stone has for you, I've never regretted buying it. Someone even asked me to return their money."

"Regret?" Chu Yao asked curiously.

I don't know how long I'll have to stay in this mine, and I might have to rely on this person in the future. Thinking of this, Chu Yao didn't show much hostility and just ignored the words "flying sword".

"Of course. And they all act like their father has died. I don't know how this thing offended them..."

Old Man Mo jumped out of bed and started rummaging through his pile of miscellaneous items. Not long after, he came back with a spirit stone the size of his palms.

Chu Yao took it and sensed it. Old Man Mo was not lying. It was indeed a spirit stone, but its purity was much lower than the one in his hand.

"How much?"
