Chu Yao followed Chen Yu to the exit of Lenghu Town and got into a sports car.
As for her motorcycle, it was temporarily handed over to the tavern for safekeeping.
The car drove through the wasteland for a long time before finally stopping in a small town near the north. This town was about the same size as Lenghu Town.
In a remote house, Chu Yao finally followed Chen Yu to the entrance of the Xinghui base.
"You guys are really good at hiding."
"Same here."
After passing through a secret passage, a technologically advanced door came into view. The delicate electronic screen on the side of the door flashed a few times and emitted a mechanical electronic sound:
"Beep—unauthorized personnel detected."
"This is my friend." Shen Yu explained.
"Received instructions, recording pupil information... Please enter the new personnel name."
Shen Yu glanced at Chu Yao.
Chu Yao cleared her throat: "Chu Xiaoye."
"Beep—Identity entry completed, added to the authorized list. Welcome, Ms. Chu Xiaoye."
The door slowly opened to both sides. Passing through the narrow passage, she was engulfed by a dazzling light, as if she had entered a whole new world.
She felt as if she had come to the workshop of some giant factory.
The interior is like a bright ocean, filled with shimmering lights. The light flows over the gleaming metal facilities, and the entire space is full of energy and vitality.
The factory's layout was meticulously crafted, each piece of machinery cleverly placed in its proper place. The enormous machines roared like a vast symphony orchestra, each playing its own unique melody. They gathered around rows of conveyor belts, working endlessly, like precise dancers, each movement flowing like water.
The air was filled with the faint smell of machine oil and metal. Although the factory was filled with the noise of machinery, there was no trace of chaos. The factory floor was polished to a mirror-like finish, reflecting the shadows of various machines.
Chu Yao followed Chen Yu inside. When passing through a corridor that was more than ten meters wide, she saw through the glass that there were two mechas standing in a closed laboratory at the end of the assembly line. It seemed that they were almost completed.
"You actually managed to quietly build such a complete production line in the wasteland. Xinghui's confidentiality work is really amazing. You hid it from everyone."
"Actually, this place already existed before I came to Lingyuan. It's just that it has always been difficult to operate."
The two came to a hall, which seemed to be the center of the base.
A strange cube-shaped device was placed steadily in the middle of the floor. On top of it was a screen similar to that of an ordinary computer. The whole thing looked like a fax machine from the last century.
Chu Yao noticed that there were many wires connected to the back of its chassis. It seemed that this was the terminal of the entire base.
"Good afternoon, Ms. Chu Xiaoye, Mr. Agent."
Seeing the two people coming, it actually opened its mouth and greeted them.
Chu Yao felt that this voice was very familiar. It was very similar to Xiao Nan's voice, but it had a hint of coldness and strangeness.
"Good afternoon. Has the previous problem been resolved?" Chen Yu smiled and waved at it.
"The fault in the effector area 2 has been resolved with the help of Ms. Lian, and everything is running smoothly."
"It is..." Chu Yao's face showed hesitation. "Xiao Nan?"
"I know what you're worried about. Don't worry, theoretically speaking, the personified Xiao Nan no longer exists. The little guy in your company may be the only backup of the Heart Core itself." Chen Yu stretched out his wrist to call up a projection panel, as if confirming various data. "Its current name is X220, a new generation of quantum computer."
"Quantum computer." Chu Yao blinked. "Is it different from a regular computer?"
Chen Yu looked at Chu Yao as if she were a fool. "Don't you want to do anything else besides practicing? This is a groundbreaking technology. I thought you would be at least a little surprised."
"I've heard this a lot recently..." Chu Yao stuck out her tongue. "Is there any connection between this and the super artificial intelligence you mentioned earlier?"
"The powerful computational capabilities of quantum computers allow them to perform calculations in a fraction of the time that classical computers cannot." Chen Yu continued his explanation. "Let me use the example of drug development. You're an expert in this area, after all."
"The X220 can analyze and characterize the molecular composition of hundreds of millions of molecules in a very short time, which is of great help to new drug development and pharmacological analysis. Its capabilities go far beyond this."
"In other words, this thing has very high computing power?" Chu Yao grasped the key words.
"Yes, and it's not just ordinary high." Chen Yu nodded.
Chu Yao circled around the X220 several times, constantly examining it. "Do you have any more of this?"
"You think it's a cabbage in the field!" Chen Yu was speechless. "I think we're the only ones on Lingyuan Star who have it. We're the only one."
"That means you're not the first organization to come up with this."
"I'm not sure about other companies, but for companies like Steel Dome and Universal, they definitely have them on their home planets, but the focus may be different." Chen Yu put away his laptop.
"X220's main focus right now is on weapons research and development. The tanks and mechas you saw earlier were largely produced thanks to it... What are you laughing at?"
"It's okay, I just feel a little emotional. It's really an unexpected success." Chu Yao raised the corners of her mouth high. She never thought that this "visit" would solve the big problem of the shelter.
