Chapter 11 The Taste of Freedom

After receiving Chu Younan's order, Ling Xiao returned to the palace early and went straight to the Peony Pavilion.

Su Bei, who was washing clothes in the yard, got up quickly, wiped her wet hands, and went to meet him. There was no other way. There were only her and Ah Xi in the huge Peony Pavilion. She couldn't just watch Ah Xi work himself to death all day.

"Guard Ling, why are you here?" Su Bei asked while looking behind him to see if Chu Younan had arrived.

Ling Xiao hurriedly said, "Miss Ah Bei, the prince asked me to bring a message to the princess. Please pass it on for him."

Su Bei suddenly became happy, but did not report it immediately. Instead, she pretended to be cautious and asked, "Guard Ling, is it a good thing or a bad thing?" She had to be prepared in advance. If it was a bad thing, she couldn't let the princess hit her again this time.

Ling Xiao suddenly revealed an unconcealable smile, "Good news! Definitely good news!"

"Okay!" Su Bei responded happily and ran in like a bird.

Not long after, she ran out again, with an unconcealed smile on her face, and whispered to Ling Xiao: "Guard Ling, you don't know, the princess has been almost sick with worry these days, she is hoping that the prince will change his mind."

Ling Xiao also whispered: "Don't worry, the prince has probably been feeling unwell these days, there will definitely be a turn for the better!" As he spoke, he scratched his neck.

Su Bei noticed that there was a big red spot on his neck, probably from a mosquito bite, so he asked, "Are there a lot of mosquitoes in the military camp?"

"Don't mention it. The military camp is by the river. People will be eaten by it in the summer!" Ling Xiao complained.

As they were talking, Su Bei led Ling Xiao into the Peony Pavilion. After Ling Xiao bowed, he said, "Princess, the prince ate the snacks you made and praised them highly. He said he wanted to eat more tomorrow. Please make some more jujube paste cakes."

The bitter face of Madam Mo suddenly relaxed, revealing a smile from the heart, "Okay, I understand. Guard Ling, thank you for your hard work. Ah Bei, here's the reward."

"Hey!" Su Bei agreed and sent Ling Xiao out. When they reached the door, he took out his small purse and handed it over. "Please give these to Guard Ling for tea. Please mention the princess to the prince more often. You said that these two people were so affectionate before, but it turned out like this in one day. The princess is really sad."

Ling Xiao took it and thanked them first, then said: "I'm afraid the two of them are having a quarrel. Let the princess take the initiative to get closer to them. I think they will be able to reconcile as before."

After seeing Ling Xiao off, Su Bei returned to the Peony Pavilion. Five silver grains were already placed on Mo's table. She said to her with a smile, "Abei, these are rewards for you! I must make good jujube paste cakes for the prince tomorrow!"

Su Bei smiled and said hurriedly, "Princess, I have asked Guard Ling, he said that the prince might be unwell, so let Princess take the initiative to get closer to him, and they will definitely be reconciled!"

The silver barley on the table is really beautiful! One is worth six or seven coins, and five of them can buy a lot of delicious food!

Su Bei went up to collect the silver barley without hesitation, and then went back to the yard. However, while washing clothes, she thought that making snacks alone was not enough. There were so many mosquitoes in the military camp, and she had to make something to drive away mosquitoes for the prince.

Feeling unwell? How can you feel comfortable if you are bitten by mosquitoes every day?

She had seen those big mosquitoes in the wild before. They bit people so hard that they couldn't sleep for nights. They wished they could gouge out that piece of flesh!

Su Bei closed her eyes, and all she could see was Chu Younan scratching herself desperately. Then she gave the mosquito repellent to the prince, and then the prince smiled and took the princess' hand.
