The Grand Secretary then stuffed a few more gold bars into Qiuqiu's bag.
"My little darling, I'll never do it again! You have to keep this a secret! Even half of this is a huge sum of money! I really won't do it again!"
Chiu Chiu touched the gold bars in the bag, nodded, and hung the bag around the pheasant's neck.
"good!"
The Grand Secretary breathed a sigh of relief when he heard Qiuqiu say yes.
He and Qiuqiu walked out of the study, and he respectfully saw Qiuqiu to the front door.
The Grand Secretary inadvertently discovered that the Emperor's secret guards were hidden in every rooftop and corner.
The Grand Secretary gasped: Good heavens! Luckily, he hadn't done anything to harm Qiuqiu. Otherwise, these guards would have a thousand ways to make him die silently.
The Grand Secretary then gave Qiuqiu a large bag of snacks.
"Your Excellency, this is a small token of our appreciation from our household. It consists of some snacks and treats. Please accept them! Come and get more if you want!"
Chiu Chiu nodded: "Thank you!"
A carriage stopped in front of the Grand Secretary's residence.
The Grand Secretary carried Qiuqiu and her pheasant onto the carriage, and also placed snacks and desserts on the carriage.
Before leaving, Qiuqiu earnestly reminded everyone, "Don't forget to donate money!"
The Grand Secretary replied respectfully, "Yes!"
