General Li flipped himself over like a carp leaping over a wall.
The guards, thinking he was about to retaliate, drew their swords to defend themselves.
Unexpectedly, General Li rolled his eyes and struggled to get up, but he couldn't move.
Seeing his expression, Chiu Chiu laughed so hard she bent over.
General Li gritted his teeth and glared at Qiuqiu, saying, "I'm going to kill you! I'm definitely going to kill you!"
Chiu Chiu stuck out her tongue and made a face at General Li.
The guards quickly stepped forward and restrained General Li.
"take away!"
General Li was taken away by the secret guards.
A tall, handsome bodyguard picked up Qiuqiu and said, "Your Excellency, we're going home!"
A guard nearby glanced around and muttered, "I wonder which kind soul beat him up like this for us. It really saved me a lot of trouble."
General Li, who was being led away, said in a low voice, "If I said it was this child in front of me who did it, would you believe me?"
The emperor was shocked when he heard that General Li had secretly kept the dragon robe.
Unexpectedly, the person who appeared to be loyal to him harbored rebellious intentions.
If it weren't for Qiuqiu, I'm afraid no one would have thought of it, and no one would have been able to find out.
The General of the Cavalry bullied men and women in the capital, committing all sorts of evil deeds. Relying on being the emperor's confidant, he acted arrogantly and no one dared to provoke him.
Now that they've been dealt with, everyone is clapping and cheering.
During the morning court session, the emperor ordered the eunuchs to announce: "General Li Qing, the General of the Cavalry, has been found to be hiding the imperial robe, which is tantamount to treason! Considering Li Qing's military merits, he is pardoned from the death penalty but exiled to the frontier and never allowed to return to the capital."
Everyone sighed with emotion after hearing this.
"How did the General of the Cavalry suddenly end up like this? What happened yesterday?"
"I heard that yesterday the Emperor specially sent his little envoy, Qiuqiu, to his residence, and that's how this happened."
"Chirp chirp, is this little kid really that amazing?"
"You can't disbelieve me, can you? This little chick just entered two families' residences, and such a big change has happened. I don't want her coming to my house. I'd better obediently donate the silver!"
"Yes, yes! It's better to avoid trouble. Let's just donate! We can't afford to cause any more problems. If that little devil comes knocking, who knows what kind of trouble he might cause."
Someone took the lead and reported to the Emperor: "Your Majesty, this humble minister is willing to donate 100,000 taels of silver for disaster relief!"
Someone else said, "This old minister is also willing to donate 100,000 taels!"
"I am also willing to generously donate 100,000 taels of silver to make a small contribution to the disaster area."
The Emperor nodded happily: "Good! My beloved ministers are very thoughtful! I am very pleased!"
And so, the morning court session went exceptionally smoothly that day.
What pleased the emperor even more was that the General of the Cavalry's home was confiscated.
This raid was extraordinary. Unexpectedly, the rare treasures and precious paintings and calligraphy in General Li's mansion were worth half of the national treasury.
Just as Qiuqiu predicted, she really did bankrupt the General of the Cavalry!
Most of these assets were ill-gotten gains, and all of them went into the national treasury. A portion of them was then used for disaster relief, which can be considered as taking from the people and using it for the people.
This time, Chiu Chiu really did the Emperor a great favor.
On the day the house was raided, the Emperor specially ordered someone to bring Qiuqiu along, so that she could take whatever she liked.
Qiuqiu also collected many rare treasures in the general's mansion, which were just a drop in the ocean compared to the general's wealth.
Chirp happily went home after getting the treasure.
"Mother, Mother—"
Xu Ruyun and her brothers rushed out to greet her when they heard Qiuqiu's chirping.
Chiu Chiu's ten fingers, neck, and head are all adorned with jewels.
Everyone burst out laughing when they saw her.
Xu Ruyun gently pinched Qiuqiu's nose and said, "My Qiuqiu is such a little money-grubber! You're so young, what do you need so many jewels for?"
Chiu Chiu looked at her mother with an innocent expression and said, "Giving them away! This one is for Mom. This one is for my eldest brother. This one is for my second brother. This one is for my third brother."
The family members all received Qiuqiu's gifts and felt very happy.
What moved me was not only the value of the items, but also Qiuqiu's sincere heart.
Chiu Chiu looked around, as if she was looking for someone.
Xu Ruyun: "Chirp chirp, what are you looking for?"
[Hey, where did Grand Tutor Chen go? I still need to give him a gift.]
Xu Ruyun pretended to be nonchalant and said, "Chirp, are you hungry? Mother has had someone make you something delicious."
Chuchu smiled and took out a large bag, saying, "Here, there's plenty of delicious food! You can eat!"
Chuchu opened the bag, which was full of various snacks, dishes, and precious fruits.
Everyone burst out laughing.
She truly never misses a thing; she never forgets any delicious food.
Just as everyone was chatting and laughing happily, a servant ran in with a panicked expression and said, "Something terrible has happened! Many disaster victims have come to the capital, saying it's about Minister Xu. Will something have happened to Minister Xu?"
[Waaaaah, Uncle is really going to get into trouble. In the original story, the disaster victims went to the capital to lodge a complaint with the emperor. In his fury, the emperor almost killed Uncle.]
Upon hearing this, Xu Ruyun's legs went weak and she almost fainted.
The three sons immediately helped their mother up.
Qi Junlin: "Mother, are you alright?"
Xu Ruyun held her head and said, "It's alright. I need to go to the palace, I need to see the Emperor! My brother can't be harmed!"
Qi Junxian looked at his mother with a worried expression and said, "But there are regulations in our dynasty that prohibit people from entering the palace unless summoned by His Majesty."
Qi Junzhou: "Yeah, so what should we do?"
Chiu Chiu happily showed off a jade pendant hanging around her neck and said, "I'll take Mother with me! It was a gift from the Emperor."
