Chapter 869 Calling the Police
Lin Tan glanced at the bodyguard who was very close to her, and then at Huo Sinian, who was not joking at all.
She was not afraid of being taken back to Jingzhou.
Given her current status and situation, if she really disappeared, her boss and agent would definitely be looking for her. Considering what she said to her agent last time, she wouldn't rashly assume she perished in the fire.
She was just worried about Qin Mo.
If she is taken back, her communication devices will definitely be confiscated within a short period of time.
Qin Mo is currently in a life-or-death situation, and she doesn't want to leave.
"Not reporting it?" Huo Sinian knew she was weighing her options.
Lin Tan edited a text message, and after confirming that it had been sent successfully, she lowered her phone and said in a distant and indifferent tone, "I need to know Qin Mo's situation."
"You're showing concern for other men right in front of me? Aren't you afraid I'll get angry?" Huo Sinian looked at her with a leisurely air.
Lin Tan: "All you want is this body and for it to obey you."
Regardless of the past or present, she firmly believes that Huo Sinian's concern for her is only because she is easy to manipulate and threaten; he can make her obediently play the role he likes with just a few words.
As for the conditions he mentioned and the freedom he promised, they were nothing more than a means to manipulate her.
"I didn't receive any news about Qin Mo's car accident." Huo Sinian didn't tell the truth.
Lin Tan: "I need to go to the hospital."
Huo Sinian: "If you go, you'll come back to Jingzhou with me?"
Lin Tan: "We need to make sure he's alright."
Huo Sinian stood up: "Okay."
Lin Tan's hand gripping the phone tightened little by little.
My mind is filled with thoughts of what to do next.
“I don’t like deception.” Huo Sinian came up to her. “If you’re thinking of using this journey and time to escape, you can give up those thoughts now.”
Lin Tan didn't speak.
He turned and walked towards the door.
She had a firm belief in her mind: she could not go back to Jingzhou with him.
Jingzhou is his territory, and he is very familiar with all walks of life. Even if she goes there to report to the police, it won't do any good.
But Haicheng is different.
In Haicheng, there was a policeman named Ning Jing who was fearless of authority and impartial.
Only here can her personal safety be guaranteed.
Watching her walk out resolutely, Huo Sinian gave a wink to the bodyguard beside him.
The latter understood immediately and swiftly raised his hand to strike Lin Tan on the back of the neck.
"Bang!"
A dull thud.
Lin Tan immediately lost consciousness and fainted.
Huo Sinian caught her and then picked her up in his arms.
"You just promised to go to the hospital, why are you going back on your word?" Gu Yang, who had been watching the show from the sidelines, stepped forward.
“Going to the hospital is fine,” Huo Sinian said, “but seeing other men is not.”
Gu Yang: "Jealous?"
Huo Sinian: "She is my fiancée."
Gu Yang chuckled softly.
Huo Sinian carried the unconscious Lin Tan outside.
Before they had taken two steps, Gu Yang, who was standing next to them, suddenly looked ahead and said, "You probably can't take this person with you."
Huo Sinian followed his gaze and looked over.
Then Qin Mo walked towards them against the light.
He was accompanied by Ning Jing and two policemen.
"The man next to Qin Mo is Ning Jing, a well-known policeman in Haicheng." Gu Yang recognized everyone here. "He is upright and incorruptible, unafraid of power, and doesn't even give face to the four major families of Haicheng."
"Don't worry about it." Huo Sinian picked up Lin Tan and walked out.
Halfway there, Qin Mo stopped him.
He blocked Huo Sinian, preventing him from advancing any further.
"What does President Qin mean by this?" Huo Sinian asked calmly.
"What did you do to her?" Qin Mo asked instead of answering, his gaze falling on the unconscious Lin Tan.
Huo Sinian: "I'm a little tired, I'm going to sleep."
Qin Mo stepped forward and went to call for help.
"President Qin, please have some self-respect." Huo Sinian moved aside, his whole demeanor exuding a sense of distance.
Qin Mo: "Give her back to me."
Huo Sinian stared at him through his glasses: "Why should I give my fiancée back to you?"
Qin Mo: "She is not your fiancée."
Huo Sinian: "Wasn't the last recording clear enough?"
Qin Mo looked at Ning Jing beside him. He was a policeman, so it would be easier for him to handle things: "Lin Tan and he are not engaged. He coerced Lin Tan into staying by his side."
“If I remember correctly, Captain Ning shouldn’t be able to interfere in such private matters,” Qin Mo said. “Lin Tan is indeed my fiancée. I can show you photos of us together and play recordings.”
“Normally speaking, we can’t interfere.” Ning Jing said sternly.
Qin Mo frowned slightly.
Huo Sinian's expression remained unchanged.
“But more than ten minutes ago I received a text message from Ms. Lin Tan, who said she was being coerced and hoped we could come and rescue her.” As she spoke, Ning Jing opened the text message and handed it to Huo Sinian.
Huo Sinian's eyes darkened slightly.
It would be a lie to say that he wasn't surprised when he looked at Lin Tan.
Lin Tan used to be docile and obedient, and never engaged in such petty schemes.
Now they're secretly calling the police, while pretending nothing's wrong.
"Please hand over Ms. Lin Tan to us and accompany us on this trip," Ning Jing said.
Huo Sinian remained silent for a moment, then went with them.
Haicheng is no better than Jingzhou.
Ning Jing was also a person who was not afraid of power.
This is actually quite a difficult matter.
More than ten minutes later.
The group arrived at the police station.
Huo Sinian sat with Qin Mo, looking at the unharmed man beside him, and couldn't help but scoff: "Didn't President Qin have a car accident and go to the hospital? How come he's at the police station?"
Qin Mo didn't answer, but instead asked him, "What did you do to Lin Tan?"
"Is it inappropriate for me to be so concerned about my fiancée?" Huo Sinian said.
"She's not your fiancée," Qin Mo said bluntly.
Huo Sinian: "Do you need me to play the recording from last time for you again?"
"You know how those recordings came about." Qin Mo looked at him. "If you hadn't coerced her, why would she have said things against her will?"
Huo Siqing chuckled: "Since you think I coerced you into giving it to you, then you might as well listen to what she has to say to the police later."
At the same time.
Lin Tan's side.
She finally woke up after the police kept calling her.
Looking at her unfamiliar surroundings, a hint of confusion flashed in her eyes, but when she saw people in police uniforms, she realized where she was, and her heart finally settled down.
"Are you feeling better?" the policeman asked her.
"Hmm." Lin Tan nodded, rubbing her slightly sore neck. "How did I get here?"
The police explained the situation to her.
After listening to the whole story, Lin Tan remembered that she seemed to have been hit when she left home.
"Take a rest and come out to give your statement when you feel better," the police officer said.
Lin Tan said "okay".
As the police officer was leaving, she quickly called out to him, "Officer."
Police officer: "Hmm?"
"May I ask, is the person in charge of my case Captain Ning?" Lin Tan asked, somewhat worried and uneasy.
If it were Ning Jing, she could tell her everything.
If not, she still couldn't afford to offend Huo Sinian too obviously.
"It's Captain Ning." The police officer answered her patiently. "Just tell me the truth later. Captain Ning never wrongs an innocent person, nor does he let a bad person go free."
