"Mom!" Zhu Hong rubbed his back and glared at her accusingly, "Why did you hit me! The one who should be hit is the one on the ground... Ah!! You hit me again!?"
"Shut up!" Mother Zhu glanced at him sideways. "I'm talking to your sister, why do you keep interrupting?!"
Zhu Hong's lips twitched, and he raised his hand to make a zipping motion, indicating that he would keep quiet.
Zhu Hao blinked faster, secretly observing Zhu's mother's expression, worried that Tang Song might show his wolf ears while he was asleep. Every now and then, when the two people in front of her weren't paying attention, she would steal a glance at Tang Song.
"Still looking! Still looking??" Mother Zhu slapped her thigh, accidentally hitting it a little too hard, causing her to stiffen in pain, but she still forced a calm expression. "Everyone's asleep! What are you still looking at? What's so interesting?!"
"Mom," Zhu Hao said cautiously, raising her hand, "Can I make a phone call? I'll have his assistant pick him up."
It's really too dangerous for Tang Song to be paralyzed in the living room at home.
Luckily, when Zhu Hong found him, he had already retracted his ears and tail. Who knows, he might have let them out again while he was asleep, after all, he was drunk!
"Okay! Okay! Okay!" Zhu Hong was overjoyed and was about to get up to get his phone.
Snap!
I got slapped again.
"Mom! Why did you hit me again?!" Zhu Hong covered his arm, staring at his mother in disbelief.
Zhu's mother ignored him, saying, "Why send him away? Are you waiting for him to climb through the window again in the middle of the night?"
Zhu Hong's eyes widened for a moment, and he muttered something to himself in dissatisfaction before sitting back down.
Now it was Zhu Hao's turn to be anxious. "He's drunk. It would be better to have someone take him home."
“They’re all asleep, so there’s no need to take care of them.” Zhu’s mother got up and patted off non-existent dust in front of her. “At least you climbed up three floors, and more importantly, you hid him in the closet.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Zhu Hao's mind flashed back to the scene of kissing Tang Song, and her fair face flushed red.
"Sister! Why are you blushing?!" Zhu Hong exclaimed in surprise, showing no composure whatsoever, and even revealing a hint of lingering fear.
Zhu Hao bit her lower lip, glared at him, her fingertips rubbing the hem of her clothes, and subtly shook her head to banish the erotic image from her mind.
"Alright!" Mother Zhu said decisively, "Just let him sleep like that. Haohao should go back to his room and sleep too. It's too late today. We'll interrogate you tomorrow after everyone is awake."
As soon as he finished speaking, Zhu Hao and Zhu Hong were dumbfounded.
"Huh? Mom! You're really letting him sleep here?" Zhu Hong got up and followed behind his mother. "Then where am I supposed to sleep?"
“Mom! We really can’t let him sleep here. I’ll have someone take him back right away. It’ll be quick, and it won’t be a problem.” Zhu Hao clung to her mother’s other side, quickly signing her name.
The siblings, one on each side, covered their mother completely, making her head buzz.
Annoyed to no end, Zhu's mother kicked Zhu Hong in the shin and said, "Fix the lock on your sister's room before you go to sleep."
Then, pushing Zhu Hao's shoulders, he shoved her into the bedroom, saying, "Haohao, go to sleep quickly. You've been on such a long car ride back today, aren't you tired? Hurry up! Hurry up!"
Bang!
The door closed.
midnight.
A cool night breeze drifted into the living room through the cracks in the window.
Zhu Hong lay on her side, staring irritably at the sleeping man beside her.
He raised his fist and slapped Tang Song's face repeatedly from a distance.
A silent scream: "You little thief! So annoying! Climbing through the window is one thing, but taking up my bed too!! So annoying!!"
"Hmph..." Tang Song whimpered.
Zhu Hong froze, his fist, which had been waving in mid-air, paused for a moment.
Tang Song simply turned over.
Zhu Hong breathed a sigh of relief, but also felt disgusted that he was afraid of waking him up.
"So annoying!!" Zhu Hong silently shouted his last words at him, then crossed his arms and lay down angrily.
Finally, feeling unwilling to give up, she secretly moved closer to Tang Song and slowly pushed him off the mat.
Tang Song lay down smoothly on the floor. Zhu Hong smiled slightly and snatched the pillow from under Tang Song's head.
That feels so good!
*
A sliver of orange light appeared on the horizon, accompanied by the clear, melodious chirping of birds.
At the dinner table.
Tang Song awkwardly scratched his tuft of hair that was sticking up and tugged at his ill-fitting clothes.
【Aaaaaah!! Aaaaah!! I'm going crazy! What did I do last night?! How did I end up in the cub's house?! Are you out of your mind?!】
Zhu Hao picked up a fried egg, and just as she put it in her mouth, she paused after hearing Tang Song's heartfelt words, and lowered her eyes.
Did Tang Song drink himself into oblivion?
Does he still remember what happened last night?
Do you remember...the time they kissed?
"Alright! Stop pulling!" Zhu Hong sat diagonally opposite Tang Song, glaring at him with displeasure. "You're going to tear my clothes!"
Tang Song's face stiffened, and he awkwardly lowered his hand, then picked up the milk on the table and took a sip with a slightly restrained air.
[Damn it! I was just tugging! Isn't it because your clothes are too small? Is it my fault? Isn't it your fault?]
Zhu Hao's eyebrows twitched, and after chewing the fried egg in his mouth a few times, he felt an emptiness in his heart.
Did you forget to add salt when you fried the eggs today?
Zhu Hao stared unfocusedly at the remaining half-fried egg in the bowl, then got up and went to the kitchen.
[No! No! No!! Ahhh!! Holy crap!! No!!]
Zhu Hao was startled and ran out of the kitchen with the salt shaker, where she happened to meet Tang Song's gaze.
Why does my mouth taste like a baby cub?! This is terrifying!!
Snap!
Zhu Hao dropped the salt shaker in his hand, scattering it all over the ground.
As she wiped the water off her hands, Zhu's mother came out of the kitchen. "What's wrong?"
She noticed the scattered salt shakers on the ground and then caught a glimpse of Zhu Hao's stunned expression, assuming that Zhu Hao was frightened.
Zhu's mother patted Zhu Hao's arm, "Oh, I thought something was wrong. It's just that you spilled some salt. Why are you so scared? It wasn't intentional. Just clean it up."
"Mom! Why didn't you react like this when I sprinkled salt on my food a few days ago?!" Zhu Hong propped himself up on the table with one hand and held chopsticks in the other, poking at the fried egg in his bowl with dissatisfaction.
"Tsk!" Zhu's mother glared at him. "You have no manners! As soon as your sister came back, you inexplicably became a chatterbox. Usually, your face is as stern as a rock, and you can't utter a word for ages. It makes me so angry!"
Zhu Hong pouted, looked away, and turned to Zhu Hao, "Sis! You've only eaten half an egg, sit down and eat! You've finally come back! I'll take you out to play after you finish eating!"
Zhu Hong glanced furtively at Tang Song, who was sitting upright opposite him, "I'm not taking you..."
[Awoo~ Awoo~]
The loud howl of wolves drowned out the voices of Zhu Hong and his mother.
[Damn it! The taste of a cub is so strong in my mouth!! Did I kiss a cub?! Aaaaaah!!]
Zhu Hao's breath hitched; all she could hear was Tang Song's heartfelt words, and all she could see was his image.
His tall figure, wearing an ill-fitting, faded t-shirt, stared at her with a serious expression, making her heart skip a beat.
