Bang!
The wardrobe door closed, and Tang Song nestled among a pile of clothes, as quiet as a chicken.
Zhu Hao turned around and stared at Zhu Hong, who was holding the door lock in one hand and a knife in the other. She was secretly glad that she had just hidden Tang Song away.
Zhu Hong's dark eyes swept across Zhu Hao's room, finally settling on the wide-open window. "Sister, did someone climb in through the window?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Zhu Hao's heart skipped a beat. She subtly moved closer to the wardrobe and shook her head repeatedly in denial.
Zhu Hong looked suspicious, his vigilance still evident. "Then why didn't you open the door for so long? I thought something had happened to you."
"I accidentally fell asleep and didn't see it." Zhu Hao bit her lower lip and quickly used sign language.
Zhu Hong glanced at the room with the lights on, then looked at the desk, where half of the noodles were still uneaten and the chopsticks were scattered on the table.
If you look closely, you can see half of a gray footprint on the table.
Those footprints didn't look like a wish for good luck.
Zhu Hong frowned instantly, tightened his grip on the knife, and lowered his voice, "Sister, come here, behind me."
Just now, after Zhu Hao kicked Zhu's mother out, he came out of the bathroom and told her that the gas in the house was out and the fuse had blown.
Zhu's mother told him to rest first, and she went downstairs to the supermarket to buy fuses. As she left, she muttered that the window in Zhu Hao's room seemed to be moving.
Logically speaking, this old house is not sturdy in any way, so it is normal for the wind to blow the windows open.
Zhu's mother was still talking about waiting for Zhu's father to wake up tomorrow so she could fix the window in Zhu Hao's room.
At first, Zhu Hong didn't pay attention. While wiping his hair, he spread out the straw mat in the living room and prepared to go to sleep.
But as soon as he lay down, a memory flashed through his mind of several burglaries that had occurred in the neighborhood a few days ago. He shuddered and immediately jumped up to knock on Zhu Hao's door.
At first, they just knocked lightly; in the past, Zhu Hao would have opened the door much earlier.
But after knocking for a full three minutes, Zhu Hao not only didn't open the door, but there was also no response from inside.
He was afraid that thieves might actually climb in through the window, since there was a lot of clutter outside the old building, and they were only on the third floor, so it would be easy for them to climb up.
Even if Zhu Hao were in danger, she wouldn't be able to scream. He quickly went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and silently removed the lock from her room.
Upon entering and seeing Zhu Hao's flustered appearance, coupled with the footprints on the table that didn't belong to anyone in the house, he concluded that a thief had broken in!
He's a villain!
Zhu Hong threw down the lock, cautiously reaching out to Zhu Hao, her voice urgent, "Sister, come here quickly!"
Zhu Hao looked troubled, trying to calm herself down, and coaxed the person out, "Really, it's nothing. Aren't you going to sleep? It's already very late."
Zhu Hong was even more convinced by Zhu Hao's attempt to conceal his true intentions that someone was hiding in the room.
Zhu Hao is likely being threatened by this person, but dares not speak out, and may even want to drive him out in order to protect him.
That won't do!
Zhu Hong stopped asking Zhu Hao to come to his side. Instead, he gradually moved closer to her, gripping the knife in his hand tighter and tighter, keeping his eyes and ears open.
I'm so nervous right now that my palms are sweaty and my back is tense.
Afraid that Tang Song would be discovered, she quickly stepped forward, blocked Zhu Hong, grabbed his wrist, and led him out of the room, saying, "It's late, I'm sleepy even if you're not, I'm going to sleep."
Zhu Hong tilted his head slightly, staring at Zhu Hao with a strange expression.
The way she walked around so casually didn't seem like she was being threatened.
Zhu Hong didn't speak, but he still had questions in his heart.
After Zhu Hao pulled him out of the bedroom, he turned around and slammed the door shut, leaving Zhu Hao outside.
Best wishes: "!!!"
Zhu Hong quickly put the lock that had fallen to the ground back on.
Zhu Hao was locked out of the room, staring blankly at the closed door, feeling her adrenaline surge and her face turn bright red.
That brat Zhu Hong!! He's gone too far!!
Wishing you well, I grasp the doorknob, wanting to open the door.
It won't turn! It's locked from the inside!
You brat!!
He was so anxious that he kept banging on the door.
Tang Song is still in the closet! And he's still drunk!!
His tail and ears!
If Zhu Hong saw this, he'd be terrified!
Zhu Hong glanced at the constantly shaking door with a dark look in his eyes, his heart racing, and then looked back at the room.
He pulled a rope from the shelf and tied the knife handle and his wrist tightly together, searching every corner of the room inch by inch.
I've looked everywhere that could hide a person, except for the wardrobe.
Zhu Hong's eyes trembled slightly. He gripped the wardrobe handle and opened the door the instant he raised the knife.
A dark figure rolled out from inside.
Zhu Hong was startled and grabbed the man's collar. The knife in his hand just fell, but he caught a glimpse of Tang Song's face out of the corner of his eye. The tip of the knife stopped a centimeter away from his eyes.
Tang Song's breathing was steady, as if he were asleep. The bangs on his forehead were lifted by the wind from the slashing of the knife, and then slowly fell back down, showing no sign of aggression.
Zhu Hong's lips twitched, and she immediately released him as if throwing away trash.
Snap!
Tang Song lay sprawled on the ground in a very unpleasant posture.
Zhu Hong kicked him with her toe in disgust.
Tang Song groaned uncomfortably, automatically turning over to a more comfortable position, her fingertips gripping Zhu Hong's trouser leg and rubbing it.
Zhu Hong: "..."
*
"Huh? Aren't you asleep yet?" When Zhu's mother got home, she noticed the living room light was on and asked in surprise as she changed her shoes.
No one answered her. She put down the bag in her hand and walked into the living room. She saw Zhu Hao standing awkwardly in the middle of the living room, and Zhu Hong sitting on a small stool with his arms crossed, looking accusatory.
"What's wrong?" Zhu's mother frowned slightly, leaned closer to Zhu Hao, and looked at Zhu Hong reproachfully, "Your sister is very tired from traveling today, and you still..."
Before she could finish speaking, Zhu's mother saw a large, dark shadow behind the table.
"Ah!" Mother Zhu cried out in fright.
Zhu Hao quickly supported her with both hands, afraid that she would faint.
Three minutes later.
Zhu's mother and Zhu Hong sat side by side, looking up at the bewildered Zhu Hao.
"Not your boyfriend?" Zhu's mother asked, her tone tinged with anger.
Zhu Hao bit her lower lip, gesturing frantically, "It's really not! Really!"
"That's clearly it!!" Zhu Hong chimed in from the side, "Sister's lying!"
"Tsk!" Mother Zhu glared at him. "Who asked you to be so nosy? She's your sister, what right do you have to lecture her? Go to sleep!"
Zhu Hong's eyebrows twitched, and she pointed to the man sleeping soundly by the table, saying, "He's taken over my bamboo mat, so I have nowhere to sleep."
Zhu's mother choked up, so angry that she couldn't catch her breath, and simply refused to look at Zhu Hong.
"Not your boyfriend? Climbing out the window to look for you in the middle of the night?" Zhu's mother slapped her thigh in exasperation. "Aren't you afraid he'll fall and get hurt?"
"Exactly! Exactly!" Zhu Hong nodded in agreement instinctively, then realized two seconds later, "Wait a minute! Mom! Why are you concerned about whether that thief got hurt? You should be concerned about whether my sister is alright..."
"Ouch!" Zhu Hong was slapped by his mother, and he howled in pain.
