The surrounding area was also littered with things she had just knocked over—candlestick stands were all lying on the ground, and the stands were overturned. After Yu Jingchen lit all the candles, he extinguished the tinderbox in his hand and looked at Nan Zhiyun. The room gradually brightened, and because there were many candles lit, the room became much clearer.
Yu Jingchen walked towards Nan Zhiyun, who instinctively backed away. So, although the room was empty, Yu Jingchen was still a terrifying presence to her.
"If I see you hiding again, you won't have a good day today," Yu Jingchen threatened.
Upon hearing this, Nan Zhiyun struggled to control her body, refusing to lean back any further. As Yu Jingchen drew closer, her clenched fists tightened, filled with fear…
"Stand up," Yu Jingchen said, stopping in front of her.
Nan Zhiyun tried to get up, but her body was too weak to move, and her feet hurt terribly. When the candlestick fell, it hit her feet. The candlestick was actually quite heavy, so it really hurt.
"What? Can't you stand up? Do I need to help you up myself?" Yu Jingchen's tone was unfriendly.
Nan Zhiyun dared not delay any longer. She braced herself on the bed behind her with her hands and struggled to stand up.
Yu Jingchen looked at her and measured her from head to toe. Finally, his gaze fell on her bare feet, which had bruises. She must have been hit by something just now.
"He really did crawl out of a beggar's den, filthy and stupid." Yu Jingchen's face was indifferent, and his tone was even colder.
"Change your clothes, put on your undergarments," Yu Jingchen continued, issuing orders.
Nan Zhiyun dared not resist; her clothes had just been torn to shreds, making her look rather unsightly. But… she couldn't just change them like that, could she?
Yu Jingchen clearly saw through Nan Zhiyun's thoughts. He didn't have such a good temper, nor did he have much patience, so he immediately said, "What? You don't want to? What part of you haven't I seen? What are you pretending for now? Not only me, but all the palace maids serving you, didn't I see them all last time?" Yu Jingchen was stabbing Nan Zhiyun in the heart.
Nan Zhiyun lowered her head, tears falling silently. He never respected her, did he? What had she just been doing? She dared not make any further movements, and could only slowly take off her clothes and put on her undergarments.
Throughout the entire process, Yu Jingchen's gaze never left Nan Zhiyun, and Nan Zhiyun felt that his gaze was somewhat eerie.
Finally, after changing her clothes, Nan Zhiyun could finally breathe a sigh of relief. But the matter was clearly not over yet; Yu Jingchen's punishment had not been decided, and she dared not relax her guard.
"Xinglai," Yu Jingchen called out, and Xinglai immediately walked in from outside, head bowed: "Your Majesty."
"Go and summon the imperial physician," Yu Jingchen ordered.
"Yes," Luckily, I dared not delay.
Nan Zhiyun couldn't understand what Yu Jingchen wanted to do either, but it certainly wasn't for her sake.
Yu Jingchen sat down beside her without saying a word, just drinking the tea in his cup. Nan Zhiyun was very uneasy as she watched Yu Jingchen remain silent.
