Chapter 650 Twin Rebirth: Consort Shu is Pregnant

Yu Jingchen saw it clearly: the little girl's fear of herself didn't seem to have lessened much, and neither did that of the child...

"Yun'er, be good, don't think nonsense. I'm happy about the baby too, okay?" Yu Jingchen was genuinely happy, but even more so, he was afraid and worried. He wasn't sure if the baby could stay, so he didn't want to show too much expectation, nor did he want Nan Zhiyun to have too much hope. If the baby couldn't be kept, Nan Zhiyun would be devastated... Wasn't there a precedent for this in his previous life? (This is in the female rebirth side story)

Therefore, Yu Jingchen dared not imagine what would happen to Nan Zhiyun if she really lost this child again later on. So it was better not to have too high expectations from the beginning.

“After a few days, when your pulse is clearer, we’ll have the imperial physician examine you again,” Yu Jingchen said, hoping for a positive turn of events.

Nan Zhiyun remained silent; she couldn't detect any excitement in Yu Jingchen's eyes. Yes, Yu Jingchen was probably the person in the world who least wanted to be pregnant, especially since he had always intentionally made her use contraception, always those pills… she knew that all too well.

Thinking of this, Nan Zhiyun's eyes gradually dimmed, and she tightened her grip on the hand beside her. This child... seems to have come at an inopportune time, and it can't be kept.

Perhaps because she thought of this, Nan Zhiyun's initial excitement and sense of wonder vanished instantly, leaving only sorrow and desolation.

“Your Majesty… I want to be alone for a while…” Nan Zhiyun mustered up her courage and said this, which made Yu Jingchen slightly take aback.

Seeing Nan Zhiyun in this state, how could he possibly let her stay here alone? She'd probably start overthinking things again.

"It's definitely not good for you to stay here alone. You'll start overthinking again soon, won't you?" Yu Jingchen said to her in a joking tone.

Nan Zhiyun did not respond, and her expression remained unchanged.

“As I just told you, I’m very happy that this child is here, so don’t overthink it. I don’t mean to be unwelcoming or dislike this child; it’s just that I care more about you than this child. You should be able to feel it yourself right now, so what I’m afraid of is that you might suffer other harm because of this child, do you understand? This doesn’t mean I hate this child. I assure you, I’ve never thought of intentionally getting rid of this child. Trust me, okay?” Yu Jingchen made it very clear. He felt that laying everything out in the open would avoid a lot of misunderstandings, so he spoke quite frankly.

Upon hearing his words, Nan Zhiyun's expression finally changed. Although she didn't completely believe him, she at least no longer felt the rejection she had shown earlier. She knew that no matter what, Yu Jingchen would never deceive her like this, much less stoop to such methods.

He wanted to abort the child; it was that simple.

(Personally, I really hope the child can stay. I'm completely powerless against little kids, even in fictional stories. They're just so adorable; I simply can't resist a little dumpling, haha~)

However, the plot development of the novel is uncertain now. Actually, I have a concern that if the child stays, it will be really difficult to write about the subsequent entanglements. Moreover, if things get sidetracked, there will be a lot of complicated issues.

Furthermore, the involvement of a child raises concerns about the future of the male and female leads, a point that deeply troubles me. The female lead will inevitably regain her memories of her second life, implying a blood feud between them. Using a child to atone for this feud seems illogical.

But if it can't be made up for, and there's another child, how should the two of them get along? Not having a father or mother is a very small matter. The most crucial thing is that his parents are enemies. How is he supposed to cope with that?

Furthermore, if the child is indeed born, our female protagonist certainly won't do anything to the child, nor will she vent her emotions on the child. So, how should she deal with this child?

In short, the question of whether to keep the child is really giving me pause. I've actually envisioned two endings, but I always feel there will be some regrets and shortcomings. Originally, I was thinking of writing two endings as well. But then I felt that the other ending was unnecessary, it felt a bit like deliberately whitewashing or making it a happy ending. Sigh, this is so difficult for me.

So please feel free to share your opinions on this point. As an author, I can only offer my own perspective, and the way I express certain plot points might differ from what you see. Therefore, I hope you can share your thoughts; feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions.

I have a lot of free time, and I read everyone's comments whenever I have a spare moment, so I see them all. Since I don't have much experience writing novels before, I used to write them down in a little notebook for myself, haha~

So this is the first time I've shared my writing with everyone like this, and I'm a little nervous and apprehensive, and I feel a bit embarrassed. After all, I know my own level quite well, and I really hope everyone can be understanding and forgiving, and offer corrections and suggestions.

To be honest, I feel a lot of pressure writing this kind of thing. At first, I was just writing for myself, so I wrote whatever I wanted, as long as I was happy. But after I started having readers, I found that I began to care about their opinions and hoped to gain their approval, so I was afraid that I wouldn't write well.
