If Yu Jingchen were still as cold and aloof as before, always speaking coldly and threatening punishments at the drop of a hat, she might still be able to hold back her tears.
But now, facing Yu Jingchen, who has become warm, she feels like someone who has been living in ice and snow for years has found a source of warmth, like a child who has been constantly scolded has received candy, or like driftwood at sea has found something to rely on.
"I only said a few words, and I didn't mean to blame you. Why are you crying? What are you afraid of? If this continues, I'll really get annoyed." Yu Jingchen was just saying that.
"I told you, you have a wound on your face, you can't cry." Yu Jingchen finally took the handkerchief and wiped Nan Zhiyun's face himself. But then he suddenly noticed that Nan Zhiyun's wrist seemed a little red. He hadn't noticed it before, so why was it there now?
"What happened?" he asked, reaching out to examine Nan Zhiyun's hand.
However, when Yu Jingchen was about to touch her wrist, Nan Zhiyun subconsciously hid it behind her back, not wanting Yu Jingchen to see it.
"I'm fine, I just bumped into something by accident." Nan Zhiyun's expression was somewhat unnatural.
Yu Jingchen's expression darkened slightly. He could tell there was something wrong with Nan Zhiyun just by looking at her. How could he let her get away with it so easily?
"Show me your hand." Yu Jingchen's tone was no longer as gentle as before.
"I'm really fine, Your Majesty, you don't need to worry," Nan Zhiyun said, as if she was afraid Yu Jingchen would see her.
"Don't make me repeat myself. Take it out quickly. I just want to take a look." Yu Jingchen's expression became much more serious.
Nan Zhiyun seemed to be hesitating about something, perhaps she was afraid, or perhaps she was unwilling?
Yu Jingchen has indeed lost his patience.
"I'll count to three more times. If you don't take it out now, I won't let you get away with it if there are any problems later." After saying that, Yu Jingchen really started counting.
"Three," Yu Jingchen deliberately slowed down his speech and drew out his voice a little.
"Two" Yu Jingchen did not miss the struggle and hesitation on Nan Zhiyun's face.
Yu Jingchen's tone, "Nan Zhiyun," carried an air of authority.
In the end, Nan Zhiyun didn't dare to really fight back; of course, she couldn't win anyway.
Nan Zhiyun slowly extended her hand from behind her back. Upon seeing this, Yu Jingchen immediately pulled her over and lifted Nan Zhiyun's robe, only to discover large patches of red marks.
"What's going on?" Yu Jingchen had been deliberately cold just now, but now he had a genuinely cold expression.
"It's just a slight allergic reaction, Your Majesty, there's no need to worry." Nan Zhiyun tried to pull her hand back, but Yu Jingchen was very strong, so she couldn't pull it back at all.
"Allergy? How could you be allergic? What are you allergic to?" Yu Jingchen had never heard of Nan Zhiyun being allergic to anything.
"I just bumped into it by accident. I'll be fine if I'm more careful in the future. Your Majesty doesn't need to ask any more questions." Nan Zhiyun didn't want to explain why she had an allergic reaction.
"It's that serious? You're saying it's nothing? Besides your hand, is there anywhere else? Are there any other uncomfortable areas?" Yu Jingchen asked.
Before Nan Zhiyun could even finish saying "no," Yu Jingchen had already noticed the red marks on her neck.
