Chapter 6: Bringing Scrap to Exchange

Rodin smiled very gently and reached out to touch his head, just like he was touching a Husky.

"Because if you dare to go out, I will break your legs."

Luo Kang: "..." She is no longer the gentle sister.

“I…I…”

"Hurry up and do it. Look at what you have done. Are you stupid? You can't even do something so simple."

Rodin started scolding Luo Kang directly. It turned out that he felt really happy when scolding others.

Luo Kang: “…”

"Do you want to make money?" Rodin looked at Luo Kang and said.

"I do!" Luo Kang didn't care whether his sister was angry or not. That was money, something he loved deeply and would never regret. It was something he would love for the rest of his life.

"Then be obedient and follow me, and you'll have meat to eat."

Rodin patted Luo Kang's head. The dog's head was really nice to touch.

"Okay." Luo Kang agreed for some reason.

The next day when a backpack and a sickle were stuffed into his hands, he was stunned.

"Grandma Luo Kang said she wanted to go out with me."

After hearing this, Old Mrs. Luo naturally agreed. It was good that they left. She still wanted to talk to that family again, and she also wanted to ask Luo Ming's father-in-law's family.

"Go ahead."

So she agreed right away.

Luo Dan naturally knew what she was up to, but she didn't care. She was no longer the silly Luo Dan she once was. No one could force her to do something she didn't want to do. The most important thing now was to make money.

Luo Dan led Luo Kang to a spot with plenty of pig grass. "Here it is. Go cut some pig grass quickly. Fill this backpack. Also, get whatever you can find in the mountains. Chestnuts, hawthorns, or anything like that, you know?"

Luo Kang wanted to get angry when he saw Rodin's self-righteous look, but he looked at her fist.

I endured it. I told myself silently that he was doing it for the money.

"I'll give you some candy, but I won't give you the money until tonight. I'll meet you here in the afternoon. If I'm in time for lunch, I'll bring you some food. If not, you can just eat some bread."

Rodin took out some bread and some hot water, stuffed them directly into his hands, then turned around and went down the mountain with his backpack on his back.

She was going to the village across the mountain from the path to collect some things.

I prepared a lot of White Rabbit milk candies, orange soda, needles and thread, etc.

Those were all prepared by her in advance. In rural areas nowadays, it is better to exchange things than to give money.

She put out her things directly at the entrance of the village.

The children came over immediately.

"Sister, can you give us these?"

They stared at the candies and the pretty hair ornaments.

Rodin had been preparing for the weekend for a long time, so he had a lot of things.

Even this village was a decision she had made after much deliberation. To get to the town, one had to cross mountains and hills, so no one would go there unless it was absolutely necessary, especially the children.

So she prepared a wide range of things, from the food that children like, to hair ornaments, and daily necessities.

Soap, toothpaste, and things like that, and needle and thread.

It's too expensive for her to afford.

"No, but you can bring bottles and waste from your home to me in exchange, such as wine bottles, boxes, wires, tire rims, and even unwanted books and newspapers.

You can also tell your elders that I have needles and thread and you can bring your scraps to exchange for them."

When the children heard that they could exchange things, they quickly ran back to call the adults.

A smile appeared on Rodin's lips. It was done.
