Chapter 10 Almost Out of Control

Chapter 10 Almost Out of Control

Chapter Ten: Almost Out of Control

Shen Tang returned to her room and placed the quilt that Liu Yuniang had brought on the bed.

Meng Huaiyan was somewhat surprised, his eyes questioning.

Shen Tang explained, "Yu Niang's house only has two rooms."

"It looks like we'll be stuck in this room until your subordinates arrive."

“Of course.” Shen Tang paused here, gesturing to the ground with her eyes: “If you’re not satisfied, you can sleep on the floor.”

The ground wasn't paved with tiles; it was hardened yellow soil, uneven and full of potholes.

Even stepping on it feels uneven, let alone lying down on it.

Shen Tang had no intention of making things difficult for herself; she was determined not to sleep on the floor.

If Meng Huaiyan disliked that she could sleep on the floor, Shen Tang would be more than happy to accept it.

Meng Huaiyan looked down at the ground, his expression slightly somber.

He was naturally unwilling to sleep in the same bed as Shen Tang, but looking at the ground, he was even more unwilling.

Not only did he find the ground unpleasant to look at, but he also felt it was dirty...

Although Meng Huaiyan didn't say anything, Shen Tang guessed that he wouldn't sleep on the ground.

Young Master Meng grew up in luxury, with every aspect of his life being exquisite and refined.

Knowing that this person was awkward, Shen Tang didn't wait for his reply and used the extra pillow to divide the Chu-Han River.

Meng Huaiyan slept at one end, and she slept at the other end, so they wouldn't disturb each other.

As Shen Tang rolled up her sleeves and fiddled with the pillow, Meng Huaiyan noticed the teeth marks on Shen Tang's arm.

The teeth marks were deep, some of them piercing the skin and drawing blood, looking somewhat ferocious on Shen Tang's fair hands.

I noticed that her right foot looked a little unnatural when she was walking, so she must be injured.

It must have taken a lot of hardship for her to bring him out of those mountains.

After finishing, Shen Tang ignored Meng Huaiyan, lay down on the outer edge of the bed, and quickly fell asleep.

Meng Huaiyan, however, was restless and unable to sleep.

Including the last time she poisoned him, this is the second time she has saved him.

I clearly don't want anything to do with her, but now I owe her more and more.

And this time, it was he who dragged her down with him.

Meng Huaiyan couldn't help but look at Shen Tang. The woman was already asleep, her breathing steady.

She lay there, a tiny, thin bundle.

She appears frail and somewhat pitiful, easily arousing a man's protective instincts.

Yet this tiny, thin creature managed to lead him out of that dangerous mountain forest.

Before this, he thought she was just a pretentious, self-conscious, and hypocritical woman who wanted to climb the social ladder.

But this experience seems to be different from what he expected.

Meng Huaiyan's feelings were mixed. He turned his gaze away and closed his eyes.

The girl's sweet fragrance wafted towards his nose on the breeze from the window, making it tingle.

Meng Huaiyan suppressed his chaotic emotions and deliberately ignored Shen Tang's presence.

Although she had been kind to him, she was not within his criteria for choosing a spouse, whether in terms of family background, appearance, or temperament.

He doesn't like her, and he's unlikely to reciprocate her feelings.

He will repay what he owes her in other ways.

Shen Tang slept very comfortably and felt full of energy.

She got up quietly, but unexpectedly still woke Meng Huaiyan.

Shen Tang looked a little guilty: "Did I wake you up?"

Meng Huaiyan shook his head. It wasn't any noise that woke him up; he hadn't slept a wink all night.

He had always been a man of few desires and had no interest in the romantic affairs of brothels that his peers were so fond of.

He had personally witnessed the appearance of the customers in brothels.

Their eyes were glazed over, and their facial expressions were distorted by lust.

It presents an ugly appearance of being controlled and out of control by desires.

It made him feel disgusted.

He dislikes the feeling of being out of control due to emotions; only when everything is in his own hands does he feel at ease.

Last night was the first time he had slept in the same bed with a woman.

It occupies only a small space on the bed, yet its presence is extremely strong.

The fragrance emanating from her body lingered around him, making it difficult for him to ignore it.

The smell made Meng Huaiyan feel an indescribable restlessness throughout his body, as if ants were gnawing at his bones, making it impossible for him to fall asleep.

The feeling of being out of control made Meng Huaiyan very unhappy.

Seeing the dark circles under his eyes and his pale face, Shen Tang asked in confusion, "Didn't you sleep well last night?"

A hint of unease flashed across Meng Huaiyan's face: "The bed is too hard, it's uncomfortable."

Shen Tang couldn't help but think to himself, "As expected of a young master, so precious."

"Do you get up and have breakfast, or should I bring it in for you?"

"Get up."

“Okay.” Shen Tang took out the clothes that Liu Yuniang had prepared for Meng Huaiyan from the cabinet and handed them to Meng Huaiyan.

Meng Huaiyan reached out and took it.

Shen Tang went out to the kitchen to help Liu Yuniang bring the food to the table.

For breakfast, I made mung bean porridge, and the side dishes were stir-fried bamboo shoots, scrambled eggs with toon leaves, and a cold lettuce salad.

A moment later, Meng Huaiyan came out, having finished tidying up.

Shen Tang and Liu Yuniang looked over instinctively.

Meng Huaiyan was eight feet tall with a handsome face. His coarse linen clothes did not make him look shabby; on the contrary, they made him look dashing and debonair.

Liu Yuniang couldn't help but say to Shen Tang, "Your husband is really handsome!"

Shen Tang felt a little embarrassed upon hearing this and smiled.

Upon hearing the word "husband," Meng Huaiyan paused slightly, then casually sat down in the seat to Shen Tang's right.

The three ate quietly, and Shen Tang noticed that Meng Huaiyan only picked at the stir-fried bamboo shoots dish.

He didn't even glance at the other two dishes.

Shen Tang then realized that the other two dishes contained scallions, and she remembered that he didn't seem to eat scallions.

Shen Tang secretly pursed her lips, thinking, "She's really picky."

After finishing her meal, Shen Tang wanted to wash the dishes, but Liu Yuniang firmly refused to let her, so she had to give up.

Meng Huaiyan's medicine was ready. Shen Tang lifted the lid of the clay pot, and a strong bitter smell instantly filled the courtyard.

Shen Tang poured the medicine into a porcelain bowl. The bowl was dark and thick, and even looking at it made Shen Tang's mouth taste bitter.

She handed the bowl of medicine to Meng Huaiyan.

Meng Huaiyan reached out and took it, then drank it all in one gulp without any expression.

Shen Tang couldn't help but gasp. Meng Huaiyan was truly a ruthless person; he didn't even flinch at such bitter medicine.

Shen Tang put the bowl into the kitchen, then took gauze and medicine for treating external injuries, preparing to change Meng Huaiyan's dressing.

Meng Huaiyan sat on the edge of the bed and took off his shirt.

Shen Tang leaned closer to examine the wound on his back. The wound had not yet healed and still looked shocking.

Afraid of hurting him, Shen Tang moved very gently, carefully applying the ointment evenly to the wound.

The fingers on his back moved gently, tracing the skin inch by inch, giving him an indescribable shiver.

Meng Huaiyan stiffened his body, held his breath, and restrained himself from losing his composure.

Shen Tang noticed Meng Huaiyan's sudden tension and asked nervously, "Did I hurt you? I'll be gentler then."

To get a better look at the wound, Shen Tang stood quite close, her breath brushing against Meng Huaiyan's back as she spoke.

Stimulated by this aura, Meng Huaiyan felt unbearably hot all over and couldn't help but let out a soft groan.

I also felt a slight reaction in my lower abdomen...

Meng Huaiyan's expression instantly turned ugly, feeling both ashamed and angry.

It was as if they couldn't stand it.

He raised his hand and pressed hard on the wound on his chest.

The wound was not yet healed, and this stimulation caused it to bleed profusely instantly, with pain piercing every inch of skin like needles.

The restlessness that had been building in my body was instantly dispelled by the pain.

Meng Huaiyan remained calm and solemn.

It was as if they were completely unaware of the pain.
