Chapter 3 Chapter03 Current Deviation
Intermittent piano sounds came from the Moral Education Building not far away, and the bird songs and piano sounds mixed in this quiet little corner of the school, lingering around them.
Yan Sui's breathing stagnated, her thoughts were in a mess, and her eyes were staring blankly at the hand in front of her.
Until a whistle was heard from the playground in the distance. The sharp sound instantly interrupted her chaotic thoughts and pulled her out of them.
Yan Sui then realized that the other party was greeting her and quickly responded, "Hello."
She didn't look up, and chose to ignore the hand that fell in front of her, and stiffly focused her attention on Wen Qingman: "Are you okay?"
Wen Qingman, a good student, had never seen such a scene before. Although there was no substantial injury, her eyes were still red.
After escaping danger, she couldn't calm down for a while.
Seeing this, Yan Sui picked up the duty tools on the ground and said, "Then let's go back."
Wen Qingman: "But there's all this garbage on the ground."
"I'll go back to the classroom and talk to the teacher later."
Wen Qingman was still a little hesitant: "But I don't know who those people were just now..."
"I know. I'll go and tell him."
"Oh, okay." Wen Qingman no longer hesitated after hearing that. She picked up the broom and thanked Yu Shuli who had been standing beside them watching them.
Yan Sui bit her lip, suppressing the emotions in her heart.
As she passed by Yu Shuli, she whispered "thank you." Without waiting for Yu Shuli's response, she quickly walked forward, carrying her duty tools.
She never dared to look up and meet Yu Shuli's gaze, and the heavy emotions in her heart were suppressed by her.
After she had walked forward for an unknown number of steps, she suddenly heard the young man behind her shout:
"You're welcome!"
At that moment, the emotions that were already beating wildly in my heart began to stir again.
—
When Yan Sui returned home, her mother Sui Yuling was preparing dinner in the kitchen with the aunt who lived there.
The square dining table was covered with a tablecloth, and the flowers in the vase in the center of the table clearly revealed the owner's care.
Not only the restaurant, but the entire house has been carefully tidied and decorated today, as if preparing to welcome someone's arrival.
Yan Sui glanced at the changes around her, and her indifferent mood seemed out of place in this carefully decorated house.
She had little interest in continuing to observe this room that had been specially decorated and maintained for someone. Just as she was about to go upstairs, she heard the sound of a door opening.
My younger brother Yan Jiaping had his hands full of things. As he walked, he complained to the girl next to him: "How dare you give me all the things."
"What's wrong with you taking on more responsibilities since you're a boy?" Yan Jiaan held the cake carefully. His eyes suddenly lit up when he saw Yan Sui standing in front of the stairs. "Sister!"
Yan Sui retracted her legs that were already standing on the stairs, turned around and walked towards them.
There are three children in her family. The younger brother and sister are twins, a boy and a girl. Perhaps because of the nature of twins, the two children have been fighting since they were young. When they gather around her on weekdays, what she hears most often is the two of them bickering.
When Yan Jiaping saw Yan Sui coming towards them, he glared at her and started complaining, "Look at her! She's throwing everything at me again."
Yan Sui laughed and reached out to take the shopping bag from him: "Why did you buy so many things?"
Yan Jiaan had already placed the cake steadily on the counter. Hearing this, he winked at Yan Sui and said, "Sister, what are you asking? Of course it's because Dad is back! Mom asked us to go buy something to celebrate."
Yan Sui's smile froze, and she lost interest in the shopping bags in her hands.
She stopped laughing and casually put the shopping bag on the corner of the sideboard: "Is that so."
"Dad took us to buy these things! Sister, would you like to come and see them? This is the gift I bought for you..."
Yan Sui didn't want to show her bad mood in front of her family. Just as she was about to respond, Sui Yuling came out of the kitchen, wiping her hands: "Sui Sui is back! Did you see your dad?"
When she heard that person, a hint of disgust flashed in her eyes, "Not yet."
"He took your brother and sister out shopping, they should come back together--" Sui Yuling's words suddenly stopped, her eyes suddenly passed over her, a happy smile appeared on her face, "Look, Dad is behind you!"
Yan Sui's body stiffened when she heard the sound of a door closing behind her.
She turned around slowly, her eyes moving inch by inch towards the entrance, and finally fell on the man in a black coat at the entrance.
The man's hair was combed neatly with hairspray, and there was a crease on his clothes for some unknown reason.
He had already changed into slippers and was walking towards them while adjusting his clothes: "Sui Sui."
Yan Zhaoting frowned, with several wrinkles piled up together, and his gentle appearance made him look like a kind father.
But when his voice reached Yan Sui's ears, her body and mind felt as if they had fallen into an ice cave and she trembled with cold.
Her body froze in place, and she didn't respond to Yan Zhaoting's words. She pursed her lips tightly, but her eyes were fixed on him.
Yan Sui could feel the chill in her heart, and the emotions that were radiating from her body to her mind were causing her to tremble uncontrollably. All the hatred from her past life surged into her heart, and even she herself hadn't noticed that her eyes, when she looked at Yan Zhaoting, were filled with a hint of hatred.
Yan Zhaoting was slightly stunned by her action, and his hand, which was adjusting his clothes, stopped in front of his chest.
Sui Yuling didn't know what was wrong with Yan Sui, and pushed her shoulder with a puzzled look on her face: "Sui Sui?"
Yan Sui suddenly came back to her senses, and the system's "host" made her realize that this was not the dream she had dreamed of countless times in the middle of the night, but reality.
A smile immediately appeared on her face, and she called out "Dad" to the man opposite her very obediently.
She said, "I've been a little tired from studying these past two weeks, and I've been daydreaming from time to time."
Sui Yuling touched her cheek distressedly and said, "Thank you for your hard work, Sui Sui. Mom will make you some of your favorite food tomorrow to replenish your body."
Yan Zhaoting also breathed a sigh of relief. "Studying in the second year of high school is much harder. If you want to buy something, tell your mom and let her buy it for you."
After he finished speaking, he raised his hand to pat Yan Sui's shoulder, but Yan Sui dodged it by turning sideways.
His hand missed and a look of surprise flashed in his eyes.
Yan Sui, however, had already hugged Sui Yuling's shoulders, resting her head on her mother's and said coquettishly: "Thank you, Mom."
Her gaze shifted and slowly fell on Yan Zhaoting. A faint smile appeared on the corner of her lips, and she said word by word: "Thank you too, Dad, Dad."
.
After returning to the room, Yan Sui immediately lost all his strength and collapsed on his bed.
She had been back for a few days, but none of the events of the previous few days combined were as difficult for her to digest as what happened today.
Compared to Yan Zhaoting's return today, the person she unexpectedly met at school this afternoon was the one who kept her from calming down for a long time.
"System." Yan Sui shouted "system" to the white ceiling.
The next second, the system's mechanical voice appeared in her mind: "Host."
Yan Sui's eyes were a little dazed, and her voice was hesitant: "Will the butterfly effect caused by rebirth change some things and people I meet?"
The system seemed to have the same question as her and remained silent.
Yan Sui's mind once again echoed the words "You're welcome" that he said before leaving today. The boy's voice was cheerful and bright, just like the youthfulness he exuded when he appeared in front of her today and drove away those people. It was like a bright light that suddenly appeared and comforted her.
She murmured, "Why is he there?"
Today's duty was her one-way street and had nothing to do with Yu Shuli. In her previous life, until the gang of hooligans were taken away by the teacher, and she was helped to the health room by her classmates because of a sprained ankle, Yu Shuli did not appear during the whole process.
Even when she met Yu Shuli later, it was because those high school students came to her and asked her about it that Yu Shuli learned about this matter from her.
But no matter what Yan Sui thought, she shouldn't have met Yu Shuli in this matter.
"Is it because I came back that something went wrong, causing him to suddenly appear there?"
After three consecutive questions, Yan Sui did not hear the answer from the mechanical voice.
She stopped talking, and the room fell silent for a moment. Her aunt had lit an orange-scented incense burner for her today, and when Yan Sui took a breath, the scent of orange filled her nostrils, colliding with her confused mood at the moment, making her feel a little sick.
Yan Sui turned over, reached under the pillow and began to grope for her cell phone.
The moment her phone screen lit up, that cold, mechanical voice rang in her mind: "He suddenly changed what he was going to do, just last night."
Yan Sui was stunned.
"He was originally supposed to be on duty, and after that he went off-campus to play basketball with his classmates. But last night, he suddenly changed his plans and found Tan Shu to switch duty times with him. After school, he first went to the second-year liberal arts class, and then went straight to the area you were cleaning. When he arrived, he saw you surrounded by those students."
The system calmly described Yu Shuli's actions today, but did not explain why he suddenly changed his mind and changed his duty.
When Yan Sui realized that he had suddenly changed, she felt her breathing become disordered.
I don’t know if it’s because the orange-scented fragrance is too greasy or what.
"Why did he suddenly change his behavior?" Yan Sui suddenly asked after a long silence.
"I'm sorry, host. My authority only applies to you. I cannot perceive the thoughts of other people in this world."
Yan Sui was a little disappointed, but at this answer, the suppressed emotions in her heart were struggling and beating desperately.
"Host, don't forget the purpose and mission of our return."
The sound of the system was like an electric current, gently stimulating her body and causing her to shiver.
Yan Sui lowered her eyes in a panic, trying to hide the strange emotion in her heart: "I know."
She knew that all her thoughts would be seen through by the system, but she still subconsciously wanted to hide the feelings that the system called "taboo".
