Li Rou Niang wasn't oblivious to Da Ni's dejection, but Er Ni was being too enthusiastic, so she decided to have a proper talk with Zhao Da Ni alone that evening.
Her eldest daughter was just like she used to be—timid and weak, always keeping everything to herself.
But by evening, Zhao Dani had not returned despite waiting for a long time.
"Erni, weren't you with your sister today?" Li Rouniang asked Erni, who had returned early.
"No, isn't Sister Dani playing with Sister Daya?"
At first, Zhao Dani didn't want to play with the other children in the village. She stayed at the Mo family's house to help Grandpa Mo take care of the two younger children.
But Old Man Mo also encouraged her to play more with other children her age in the village, so she gradually came out of her shell.
At first, Erni was the one who took care of her, but Erni played with mostly little boys. They climbed trees to steal bird eggs and went to the river to catch fish.

Li Rouniang frowned and went to Zhao Dayou's house to look for Zhao Dani Ke, but no one was home.
She was getting a little anxious. A child that big couldn't possibly be out so late. What was going on?
"Rou Niang!" Mo Bei ran over at that moment.
"Why are you here?" Li Rouniang asked.
"I heard from Erni that Dani hadn't come back this late, so I came out with you to look for her," Mo Bei replied.
"Da Ya said Dani went to look for Zhao Dayou this afternoon, but Zhao Dayou wasn't home either. We don't know where the father and daughter went," Li Rou Niang said anxiously.
"Don't rush, take your time searching," Mo Bei comforted her.
The two searched the village thoroughly twice but couldn't find him. Suddenly, Mo Bei pointed to the village entrance and said:
"Rou Niang, do you think that's Zhao Dayou?"
Upon recognizing Zhao Dayou, Li Rouniang rushed forward and asked, "Zhao Dayou, have you seen Da Ni?"
