"Zhao Dahu, come out here! What right do you have to hit my daughter?" Li Rouniang shouted loudly from the doorway.
A large crowd gathered, whispering and watching.
Da Ya's parents came out: "What? Li Rou Niang, you not only tricked my best friend with that little bit of rice, but you also made my daughter do so much work along the way. Shouldn't I take your jade pendant as payment?" Zhao Da Hu accused the villain first.
Li Rouniang was so angry she laughed. She said, "Fine, fine, let's talk about it properly in front of everyone today. Wasn't it you who wanted to sell Daya back then?"
Locking down the city there was like sending children to their deaths. I was soft-hearted and saved your daughter. Everyone knows how precious half a bag of grain was back then, so how did it become my fault?
Besides, doesn't Daya do any work around you? She only does what she can manage; I never asked her to do anything excessive."
Da Ya's mother retorted, "Stop talking nonsense! Let me tell you, my daughter has been bewitched by you. She doesn't call me 'Mother' anymore; she used to call me 'Auntie'!"
Now she's finally figured it out and is with me, and you're still saying these things, acting like you're some kind of saint. I saw you trade that half-bag of rice for my daughter just to trick her into doing chores.
Li Rouniang rolled her eyes. She wasn't going to argue with this woman. She went straight to Daya and asked, "Zhao Daya, in front of everyone, tell me what really happened. Did I lie to you? Or did I deliberately mistreat you?"
Zhao Daya dared not look Li Rouniang in the eye and silently lowered her head.
Li Rouniang was utterly heartbroken. The little girl who had knelt before her and promised to repay her had turned out like this.
She didn't know what Daya's parents had said to Daya that made her act this way, but she knew she would never help her again.

He wasn't afraid of Li Rou Niang's entire family at all; they were all women, old and young, not a single man among them.
This is blatant bullying!
Li Rouniang was furious, so she grabbed a stick from the side and started hitting him repeatedly.
"Since you won't listen to reason, then I have no choice but to avenge my Erni."
"I'm telling you, Zhao Dahu, nobody's going to bully us."
Thanks to Mo Wei, Li Rou Niang wielded her stick with great skill, and Da Ya's father was no match for her.
He was being beaten and screaming loudly:

When Da Ya's mother saw that her precious son was pinned down, she was immediately displeased and tried to rush over to protect him.
At this moment, Xiuer also came over. She rushed over and stopped Daya Niang: "How come you don't look pitiful? How dare you do such a thing?"
