Fu Hange carefully considered her words, trying to avoid sounding alarmist: "Last night I saw a dark figure loitering around the sofa, and it looked like he was holding something in his hand."
Gu Yuan's hand movements visibly faltered, his thick eyebrows furrowed slightly, and his expression was no longer as natural as before.
But Fu Hange didn't notice; what she saw was Gu Yuan calmly saying, "No."
Unexpectedly, this answer made Fu Hange even more curious, and she pressed on relentlessly: "Then you'd better be careful, it might be some kind of vengeful spirit coming for you."
After saying that, Fu Hange slapped the table and laughed. She hadn't even realized that she could be so childish. Although she was just trying to scare Gu Yuan, it didn't seem to make any sense.
Only Fu Hange's voice could be heard in the room as Gu Yuan quietly ate his breakfast. Sensing something was wrong, Fu Hange awkwardly sat up straight and then asked Gu Yuan, "Do you have any food left? I'm hungry."
Gu Yuan took out a card, slid it off the table to Fu Hange's side, and continued eating the sandwich that he felt he could never finish.
Fu Hange was confused: "You want me to buy it myself?"
Gu Yuan ignored her, put down the sandwich he hadn't finished, and wiped his mouth. He went to the bathroom to wash his hands, then put on his coat. As he walked to the door, he turned back to look at Fu Hange: "Hurry up and go. You have to stay with me all day today."
Fu Hange stared blankly at Gu Yuan, who had already changed his clothes and walked out. But he had just told her to buy her own breakfast, yet he gave her a card?
Exaggeration! Fu Hange placed the card untouched next to the plate that Gu Yuan hadn't cleared after finishing his meal, picked up her useless little white bag, and chased after him.
The engine started, and Gu Yuan's car drove out of the villa again. Fu Hange realized that he had been driving since they went out for a late-night snack yesterday, and he no longer asked her to drive like before.
After driving some distance from the villa, they saw what appeared to be a woman standing in front of them, waving at their car.
Judging from her appearance, Fu Hange should be around twenty-two years old. Whose figure did she resemble so much in her memory? She couldn't remember for a moment.
The girl in front was still waving at them. Of all the girls Gu Yuan knew, the only one he could think of was Bai Xin.
Sure enough, Gu Yuan stopped the car in front of her, and what came into view was Bai Xin's hateful face.
Fu Hange sat in the passenger seat, and Bai Xin could only sit in the back seat. Fortunately, Gu Yuan didn't say anything, and Bai Xin didn't try to make a fuss about sitting in the front.
Bai Xin broke the usual silence between Fu Hange and Gu Yuan by immediately showing goodwill to Fu Hange: "President Xu is here too? What a coincidence."
Sensing the provocation in her words, Fu Hange retorted, "Yeah, it's just a coincidence that you showed up out of nowhere."
Bai Xin's expression changed immediately, but she couldn't show it because Gu Yuan was there. She ignored Fu Hange and leaned her head out from the back seat to rest on Gu Yuan's shoulder: "Why doesn't President Gu hire a driver? It's so tiring to drive alone."
Unexpectedly, Gu Yuan was very annoyed, and his tone was uncompromising: "Sit back!"
Bai Xin reluctantly sat back down, staring intently at Fu Hange, swallowing all her anger.
Fu Hange suddenly remembered something: "What did you mean when you said I wanted to be with you all day? I still have to work."
Gu Yuan didn't yell at Fu Hange like he had yelled at Bai Xin earlier; he simply remained silent and didn't answer her.
Fu Hange knew she was making a fool of herself, so she sat quietly playing on her phone, scrolling through her WeChat Moments, when Xu Yi called.
