Chapter 307 Continued

"I'll be collaborating with Chen Yuan the day after tomorrow. Do you want me to go?"

He stared at her, his eye sockets looking somewhat deep, his eyelids appearing to have multiple layers.

Fu Hange softened her tone: "I have no objection to who you want to cooperate with."

"What if my only solution to this urgent problem is to cooperate with Chen Yuan?"

“Then I hope you will go,” she replied, looking at him.

Fu Hange continued, "If you're unsure, you can let me handle the negotiations. If he sees me, the deal should be finalized."

I thought Gu Yuan would agree, but to my surprise, his eyes were even colder, as if they were about to freeze over.

A chill emanated from her entire body, as if this chill had transferred to Fu Hange, and even she could feel the temperature in the air suddenly drop to its lowest point.

"So you want to take this opportunity to go out and see him, is that right?" His cold, emotionless tone struck Fu Hange once again.

She had only heard that Mingheng had been in trouble and hadn't recovered. Now he was saying he wanted to cooperate with Chenyuan. She just wanted to help him, she simply wanted to help him. Why was he misunderstanding her like this?

Her heart was already frozen, and Gu Yuan's words forced Fu Hange to put an extra layer of ice on top of it, trapping the ice inside and preventing it from dissipating for a long time, which continued to erode her entire heart.

"Why would you think that?" she asked, her voice trembling with tears.

Gu Yuan lifted her chin: "Because you have the ability to make me feel this way."

This wasn't the first time the woman in front of him had provoked him. She was always like this; a single sentence could ignite his fuse and stimulate his entire nervous system without any reason.

Fu Hange swallowed hard: "Do you think there's something between him and me?"

"Isn't that right?" he said, almost to the point of sarcasm.

Fu Hange froze for a few seconds, then began to frantically tear at her clothes.

She said, slightly out of breath, "I can prove it to you, there's nothing between him and me."

Gu Yuan stopped her hand, raised an eyebrow and said, "Are you so eager to let me sleep with you?"

Fu Hange lowered her head in embarrassment.

He then helped her straighten her clothes one by one, his movements rough and devoid of any gentleness.

"Put your clothes on properly. I'm not interested in you right now." His tone was icy cold.

This is yet another cruel statement that strikes right at the heart.

Fu Hange's fingertips trembled slightly, but she quickly pretended to be nonchalant.

"I was just joking with President Gu."

She spoke so casually, as if she had never said anything at all.

Gu Yuan turned his back to her and went into the bathroom, followed by the sound of water.

Fu Hange stood there, bewildered, feeling utterly exhausted and completely lost.

She had rehearsed her conversation with him countless times, trying to appear nonchalant. But when she actually saw him today, she realized that all the words she had prepared were no match for his sarcastic remark, each one a sharp rebuke.

She had been longing for his return these past few days, but was this truly the outcome she hoped for? If he were heartless, it sounded so jarring. If she had known she would hear these words, she would have preferred to remain in her own fortress, waiting to heal her old wounds before facing new ones.

A light drizzle began to fall outside the window, mirroring her own heart. She wanted to sever her feelings for Gu Yuan, yet she remained hesitant and even longed to continue her intimacy with him.
