Chapter 467 The Bai Family Headman's Deep Regret

Bai Di's slender fingers gently rested on the Bai family patriarch's shoulder, a gesture that looked as respectful as a junior helping an elder.

However, the next second, her fingernails suddenly grew three inches, like five sharp daggers, and pierced the clan leader's collarbone.

"You..." The clan leader's white beard trembled, and his cloudy eyes widened instantly. He tried to circulate his spiritual power to resist, but was horrified to find that the spiritual power in his body was like a flood bursting its banks, leaking out wildly through his five fingers.

"Don't be afraid, Chieftain," Bai Di tilted her head, revealing an innocent smile, "the pain will subside soon."

An eerie black light emanated from her palm, and streaks of crimson lines spread from the point of contact, quickly covering the clan leader's entire body. The old man's skin withered visibly, and his once full face was instantly covered with wrinkles, like tree bark that had been drained of moisture.

"The demon race's techniques..." the clan leader spat out the words through gritted teeth, his voice hoarse and barely recognizable, "You actually... practiced such... evil arts..."

Bai Di chuckled and leaned close to the old man's ear: "You're only just realizing? The Grand Elder's cultivation was also completely absorbed by me in this way."

As she spoke, she suddenly exerted her strength, and the clan leader's body convulsed violently. Streams of pure spiritual energy were forcibly drawn out along his meridians, forming shimmering ribbons in mid-air, which were then greedily absorbed into Bai Di's body.

Through the crack in the storage bag, Zhou Ying witnessed this scene and was utterly stunned. She frantically pounded on the bag's walls, screaming at the top of her lungs, "Stop! Bai Di! Stop it!"

Bai Ying lay slumped to one side, muttering to himself listlessly, "It's over... all over... the Bai family's millennia-old foundation..."

The Bai family patriarch felt his spiritual energy gushing out like a burst dam, every meridian emitting a painful groan. His cloudy old eyes were fixed on the familiar yet unfamiliar face before him—Bai Yanfeng's face, now bearing Bai Di's signature cruel smile.

"Hah...hah..." The chieftain gasped for breath like a broken bellows, yet his mind remained unusually clear. An absurd thought suddenly surfaced in his collapsing mind—if only Bai Ying were here.

This thought caused his already shattered Dao heart to collapse even further.

Just before that, he received a message saying that the abandoned daughter of the Bai family, whom they had discarded, had killed five Void Refinement experts and dozens of Nascent Soul cultivators.

The news spread like wildfire throughout the cultivation world, shaking all factions.

"Cough cough..." A mouthful of black blood spilled from the corner of the clan leader's mouth. He suddenly laughed painfully, his laughter filled with self-mockery and regret.

How ironic that the girl they forced to dig out her spiritual root and betray her family has now become the Bai family's only hope.

If Bai Ying were at the Bai family at this time, how could Bai Di be so arrogant?

But......

Tears streamed painfully down the face of the Bai family patriarch.

He had never regretted it like this before.

When Bai Ying first arrived at the Bai family, he didn't pay any attention to her at all.

The Grand Elder said that he disliked Bai Ying because she was unwilling to hand over her soul blood.

When the Grand Elder was choosing between Bai Di and Bai Ying, he had already used his divine sense to detect that the elder had chosen Bai Di, but he still acquiesced to their act of digging out Bai Ying's spiritual root.

At that time, he shared the same thought as the Grand Elder: Bai Di was a child whose background he knew well, and was definitely better than Bai Ying.

Little did they expect that this choice would mean abandoning the clan's most talented disciple and leaving behind a demon!

"Retribution...this is all retribution..." The clan chief's hoarse voice was like sandpaper rubbing. His turbid tears mixed with blood slid down his face, leaving two shocking marks on his wrinkled face.

Bai Di tilted his head, savoring the old man's pain, the black light at his fingertips intensifying: "Why is the clan leader crying?"

Suddenly, with his last ounce of strength, the clan chief grabbed Bai Di's wrist, a startling light flashing in his fading eyes: "Bai Di...you think...you've won? Bai Ying...she will definitely...kill you!"

Before he could finish speaking, his body shrank away as if it had been drained dry.

Bai Di's lips curled into a cruel smile: "Old man, even on your deathbed you're still thinking about that bitch."

Inside the council hall, the other Bai family elders finally reacted and tried to unleash their magical artifacts to stop the attack. However, they were horrified to discover that the entire hall had been enveloped by a blood-red barrier, and all attacks were deflected.

"Don't waste your energy," Bai Di said without turning her head, her voice so sweet it was chilling. "This is a formation I prepared especially for you."

As she spoke, the clan leader's body had withered beyond recognition, collapsing to the ground. Bai Di let out a satisfied sigh, and the fluctuations of spiritual energy around her noticeably increased.

"Very good. Next." She turned to look at the other elders, her eyes flashing with a bloodthirsty light.

The Second Elder glared fiercely at the person before him, locking onto her with his divine sense. He then bit his tongue hard, attempting to use a secret technique to perish together with her.

However, the moment the spiritual energy began to circulate, the Second Elder's movements suddenly froze like a wooden statue. A wisp of dark black energy was meandering along the meridians of his wrist, sending chills down his spine wherever it passed, as if countless tiny ice needles were piercing through his blood vessels.

He stared in terror, his eyes wide, and he made a gurgling sound as he struggled, only to find that he couldn't move even a single finger.

"Want to kill me?" Bai Di chuckled lightly. "You're dreaming."
