Chapter 156 The Crown Prince (1/2)

The next day, back at the Cloud Top Apartment, Su Qianqian regained her usual liveliness.

She stepped barefoot onto the rug beside the coffee table and turned on the living room TV. The first eight episodes of "The Brocade Robbery" had aired the previous night.

Gu Chengyu followed beside her, his brows never leaving her side: "Put on your shoes."

"Okay—" she replied, drawing out her voice.

He simply picked her up by the waist, placed her on the sofa, and knelt down to put slippers on her: "What if you catch a cold again?"

Su Qianqian leaned forward and hugged his neck, nuzzling his cheek: "Ayu is the best."

He pinched the tip of her nose: "You're just trying to coax me."

The phone on the coffee table vibrated, and the word "Father" appeared on the screen.

Gu Chengyu glanced at it but didn't answer.

Su Qianqian said softly, "Should we answer it? Just in case something urgent comes up."

The phone rang again shortly after it automatically hung up.

Gu Chengyu clicked his tongue, finally picked up his phone, and walked to the window: "Dad."

On the other end of the phone, Gu Zhenting's voice was serious: "Why didn't you attend the morning meeting today?"

"Take leave? That won't do." Gu Zhenting raised his voice.

"It's one thing to skip the morning meeting, but you're not coming to the finance meeting later, which involves this month's cash flow analysis either?"

"Hmm, no, I won't go. You're here, aren't you?"

As he spoke, he watched his little one eating oranges, feeling somewhat relieved. However, he still planned to stay home with her for the day and then take her to the hospital later to check for any potential problems.

"Dad, you can handle it yourself."

"Gu Chengyu!"

Gu Zhenting suppressed his anger: "At least come to the other budget review meeting this afternoon. So many project funds are waiting."

"Who knows if someone is trying to take advantage of the situation? I can't possibly remember those accounts."

"No, Dad."

Gu Chengyu interrupted him, "I really don't have time."

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end, as if the person was quite angry, before they suddenly hung up the phone.

Gu Chengyu walked back to the sofa and casually tossed his phone aside.

He took the remaining orange from Su Qianqian's hand, carefully peeled off the thin fibers, and then fed it to her.
